Great guide WJ, as always...! -However i will take my freedom to post some alternatives for people who have troubles adapting to it. =) ALTERNATIVE 1: If you want to make it easier for yourself to lean due to having short fingers, just invert the controls, hard at first but works really really good once you get the hang of it. (You will always have a finger on W using this method aswell.) What i mean is: To lean right you use Q and to lean left you use E. This way you will use your Ring-finger on Q for leaning right which lets you strafe right aswell with your Index-finger on D, once you are done strafing you probably release "lean" anyways so your Ring-finger is free to use A again to strafe back left to cover. And when leaning left you use E with your Index-finger and still have your Ring-finger free to use A for strafing left, once you are done strafing/leaning you release "lean" to free up the Index-finger to strafe back right to cover. =) ALTERNATIVE 2: Or if the alternative above doesn't suit you you could always bind the "lean" keys to the Thumb mouse buttons (if you have any). Whichever suits you the most. =)
Instead of keeping your keyboard at a straight line like "---" keep it a little like "\", this will make it easier for your middlefinger to reach Q and E. Hope that makes sense
Fabian Amok exactly gotta turn that hand if you want precision movements if not you just have to have quick movements with your fingers and adjust your hand to an unusual way to keep it
Sensei!!!!! You've taught me so much and I've implemented all this knowledge you've given us into my gameplay. I have to say my kill average has gone from 0 kills to 5 kills a game! You are seriously the best PUBG resource on the internet thank you!
Switch Q to V and E to B. Move V to N. So it's done with the thumb. B og is select fire. So much more control this way i feel. I watched another video that gave me idea.
I personally am used to switching my ring and index fingers to q and e respectively. So I set up q to lean right and e to lean left to be able to still move easily while leaning. This might be a bit counter - intuitive at first but works really well for me. Thanks for sharing your way of doing it and keep up the great work!

@@SrinivasRao-sz1dv I still use the mouse button which means I m mostly still while using dmr which is dangerous but I just can't get used to q and e for peak
Great video as always. Keep it up. I've recently started to use the V and B keys with the thumb for leaning though like described in the video from Liquid Blitz as this allows for all of the movements described in your Video plus moving forward and backwards.
This is actually a BRILLIANT way to do it. Mad props for that suggestion. (For those wondering why) if you reverse the keys, and press and hold "D" while straffing right, it free's up the use of your ring finger more easily to press the "Q" key, and vice verse with the "E" key.
Your videos are always great. I have my lean an peak set to toggle and binded to the two mouse buttons by my thumb. M3 an M4 . Completely changed my lean an peak game.
1:06 Good God! For anyone without an alien middle finger, an easier alternative is to reverse the Q & E keybindings and press them with your fingers that are normally on A & D respectively. This reversed combination lets you peek and strafe back to safety with ease. But you lose the ability to quickly strafe in the direction of your peek, which is a decent compromise for not dislocating your fingers. :)
I don't have a PC to play PUBG (living the peasant life on Xbox), this video is awesome. I try to lean as much as I can, and I see my teammates not doing it enough.
For most people this is way way harder than just using your 'A' finger for 'Q' and your 'D' finger for 'E.' You can strafe and lean by just easily flattening your finger to press Q+A (or E+D) at the same time, it's decently comfortable
I just took an old Dell keyboard plugged it into another usb slot, popped off all keys I didn't need, and use my feet to hit leans, use medkit, drink sips, pop pills.
The G403 mouse has 2 buttons on the thumb side, i set the front thumb Button to left and rear thumb button to right, and its even easier, and IMO better.
I’m an A+ now in pubg, why?cz of wackyjakcy he is amazing and since I watched his vids I improved so much I can’t tell how much I’m thankful wacky I’m even more excited for ur future vids :D
A trick which I was taught was to actually bind Q to E and vice versa, its actually much easier once you get the hang of it, as you can always lean in the direction your moving.
For anyone else who sees this, I have been using this technique for 600 hours now and it’s intuitive, makes for easy and fast peaks especially when combined with body movement… just a great binding optimization (also wacky has recommended this in a video as well)
To the people saying it's impossible or uncomfortable to play like this. Try swapping the keybinds of q and e. so that e is lean left and q is lean right. This way you can peak left lean left without having to use your middle finger at all. Some other ideas are binding lean to x and c or using dedicated mouse buttons.
Unfortunately, I do not have spiders for fingers, so this is a bit tricky for me, but I'll keep practicing. But Seriously, keep up the good work, I love and recommend your videos to all my friends who play PUBG!
Thank you, I was gonna say this. I can't practice though, it is a physical impossibility for me to move my middle finger off of 'W' while keeping my other fingers on 'A' and 'D'.
Man, you're incredible! This is simple impossible for me. My ring finger on the A key and my middle finger on the Q key simply can not... Not to mention the incredible difficulty of using the thumb on the C key... I think I will need to adapt keys on mouse to be able to do that.
Since the release of this video I dieted for almost 3 years now, so that my body reduced the fat reserves on my finger joints. I can finally do this move, but I won't because I found a girlfriend during this process and push her buttons now.
I need to comment surely about it.. You are awesome dude.. That was an simple trick everyone didn't see.. Thank you ... I was doing well after watching your video 💕💕
Coming from MMO's I've always used Q & E to strafe even though they call it left and right in PUBG. I've swapped my lean and movement keys and I just flatten my finger over 2 keys to do the same thing. It's pretty cool to see it works fluently in both configs.
After playing around on PC PUBG I’ve realized this- I have the Phantom TKL mechanical keyboard. If you use N for strafe left, M for move forward, ‘< for strafe right, space bar for move backward, it works really good. The J and K buttons are at the top dead in the middle of your move forward (M), and they are right beside each other, super easy to lean. OR- use ALT and FN with your thumb to lean, and those buttons are almost double size. Also super easy. Yeah your hand is in a different place entirely, but who says you have to use WASD??
I want to change it and currently now I'm thinking about 3 choices: 1) Reverse Q and E. So it`s easy to lean out of something like Q + D to right shoot and then press key A (below Q) to go back. 2) Use CAPS Lock and space. It's the most natural place for my little finger and thumb. I can rebind jump to whatever else. 3) Buy pedals))
On the mouse leaning idea, the issue is that when you engage full burst fights, it does not take priority to unpress mouse button 1 because you have dedicated the left click to engage full. You ll stay leaning left even if you go right, which will leave you a lot of times exposed to get shot on your body when your aim is already behind a wall. Been using that for over a year and this is the drawback i ve had.
Is it weird to press W with the light green finger? (0:54) and pressing D with the Thumb, and pressing A with the red finger (0:54) and using the orange/brown finger for shift? (0:54)
@WackyJacky101 I just use R and T to lean/peek (pinky-middle fingers on WASD), with a mouse button for sprint and v for crouch (my thumb rests on v/spacebar). I don't like doing finger yoga to hit my keys, so I change up my keybinds quite differently from the defaults to ensure as little finger juggling/conflicts as possible. I usually save Shift, Ctrl, etc... for emotes/commands/menus. Buttons where you won't be using WASD (moving) while using them. Mouse buttons for things you don't need to aim precisely while using but likely will need to move (like sprint, use/interact, reload, primary weapon, secondary weapon).
IMPORTANT TIP FOR BIG-HANDED PEOPLE: I can lean just as smoothly without using my middle finger (my hands and fingers are literally too big to use my middle finger (not fat lol)). The benefit of large fingers, though, is that I can easily press *two* keys at once which actually allows me to use my middle finger for "W" and "S" while I lean. My fingers are large enough that I actually just use CAPS Lock as my sprint and to sprint I just comfortably use the left edge of my ring finger to sprint. This frees up my shift button which I use to crouch so I can crouch spray as soon as I ADS and it really helps with 4x/8x/15x full auto spraydowns even at 100-150m.
simple old school trick is bind Q and E but opposite, Q for right lean and E for left lean. Takes while to get used, but its the best imho, and you dont need use midlle finger at all ;)
on laptops reaching Q is hard because the hand comes in from left, either getting an external keyboard or placing the laptop towards your left might help a little.
I recommend getting a mouse with 2 programmable buttons by the thumb (most do anyways) and program the lean keys to them so you can move and lean easily and more comfortably.
Thanks so much for this. I know this is the same bind most pros use as well. As a long time fps player who has never leaned I really struggle with it. I guess I just have to force myself to practice it a lot more.
A thought for some, if you have a mouse with the two buttons on side you can change shift and space to lean left and right. Then the two buttons on side of mouse can be sprint and jump etc.
Whoa wtf. I've never seen anybody use their middle finger to hit Q and E O_o. I just tried it and it forces me to hit the A and D key because of the awkwardness. Feels more natural to move ring finger to Q and pointer to E when needed. Obviously there's no wrong way here, whatever you're comfortable with and gets the job done is the way to go. I'm just in shock that you can handle your movement so well doing that!
Are you considering making a general guide to phases of the game? Early game/Looting Mid game/Hunting Late game/Positioning and Environmental Awareness
And don't forget to go back in time to make sure you get the right parents with the right genetic code to give you fingers capable of that movement. Otherwise you will absolutely not be able to reach the Q key with your middle finger.

2) Use CAPS Lock and space. It's the most natural place for my little finger and thumb. I can rebind jump to whatever else.
3) Buy pedals))
Toggle instead of hold to lean.
great video as always! been a long time watcher, your videos sure helped me out! thanks so much, greetings laura
I get it what you said . lol
You are the best content creator out there!
Is it weird to press W with the light green finger? (0:54) and pressing D with the Thumb, and pressing A with the red finger (0:54) and using the orange/brown finger for shift? (0:54)
It's interesting that correct finger positioning on keyboard is similar to proper left hand guitar fingering.
Been practicing for a while now as I’m new to pubg on pc. Pretty much a game changer as I’m winning more gun fights.
That song in the background is epic. I heard on a mix called "Embracing Solitude' Beautiful Chillstep Mix #30".
Great video btw.
Quality content as always, keep up the good work.
Dude you have helped me so much all your vids are quick simple and fixes all problems thx
I use my mouse to lean, but this video is going to make me switch back. Thanks WJ.
Thanks for the content again! Love ya mate.
Hitting C with my thumb will take some getting used to. Love the video.
I got hand cramps from watching. Just bound these to my thumb buttons on my mouse and life is good
@WackyJacky101
I just use R and T to lean/peek (pinky-middle fingers on WASD), with a mouse button for sprint and v for crouch (my thumb rests on v/spacebar).
Mouse buttons for things you don't need to aim precisely while using but likely will need to move (like sprint, use/interact, reload, primary weapon, secondary weapon).
wow, that was great demonstration! I was always forgetting to move the body to one-side before leaning.
I have really fat fingers, so that Q+A techique is nearly impossible for me. You do it amazingly, though!
This frees up my shift button which I use to crouch so I can crouch spray as soon as I ADS and it really helps with 4x/8x/15x full auto spraydowns even at 100-150m.
n1 content as usual. Keep it up mate.
That was like watching some teach guitar lessons. Those finger movements. Love it. Cheers 👍
simple old school trick is bind Q and E but opposite, Q for right lean and E for left lean. Takes while to get used, but its the best imho, and you dont need use midlle finger at all ;)
Thanks 😘 I was confused how to take fight properly using thease three fingers thank you so much..
New to PC gaming and pubg and I've been wondering how to do this. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for this ENGLISH tutorial
I only played mobile so this is very helpful 👍🙏
on laptops reaching Q is hard because the hand comes in from left, either getting an external keyboard or placing the laptop towards your left might help a little.
I recommend getting a mouse with 2 programmable buttons by the thumb (most do anyways) and program the lean keys to them so you can move and lean easily and more comfortably.
Great video. Just subscribed! Thx
Great video man. Thank you so much. I’m definitely gonna start practicing this!
nice bro.your explain are very slowly.so this very helpfully for someone who not good in english
Thanks so much for this. I know this is the same bind most pros use as well. As a long time fps player who has never leaned I really struggle with it. I guess I just have to force myself to practice it a lot more.
No one makes tuts like you bro .. your awesome.. love you ❤️
For the myth buster thing. Can you be on top of a building throw a nade at the ground, jump off and time it so it blows up and saves fall damage
A thought for some, if you have a mouse with the two buttons on side you can change shift and space to lean left and right. Then the two buttons on side of mouse can be sprint and jump etc.
Your wife/gf is surely impressed by your middle finger movement
I'm just in shock that you can handle your movement so well doing that!
thanks for this old vid still struggle with left side peaking but my right side peak is good
Are you considering making a general guide to phases of the game?
Early game/Looting
Mid game/Hunting
Late game/Positioning and Environmental Awareness
I newer even considered used my W finger for leaning, that sorts out many of my problems, I will need to practice a lot
If you hard using this finger method, you could try using your ring and index finger to leaning also set leaning option as toggle
And don't forget to go back in time to make sure you get the right parents with the right genetic code to give you fingers capable of that movement. Otherwise you will absolutely not be able to reach the Q key with your middle finger.
