  • Thanks to a good stretch of late April weather, Matt, Kelly, and Andy made quick work of corn planting and have now turned their sights on getting some cotton planted. Matt is ecstatic over being able to plant cotton earlier than he ever has before, hopefully setting the stage for record breaking cotton yields this year!

    I hope for you to have your best yields yet! We haven’t been as lucky in Central NC. Still a lot of corn to be planted, and very few beans in the ground here. Too dry in April, and too wet in May

    Great Video as always Matt, happy to see you getting the cotton in the ground in near record time. Wishing you the best of crops as always. Thanks for all your efforts in providing us the farming information, mighty good of you to do so.

    I hope you tried both products together, be interesting to see if they work symbiotically

      Didn’t have enough room to add plots with combined products

    I would have done strips of both combined to see how they interact.

      Unfortunately I’m limited by not having very many areas that have a uniform enough soil to do comparisons. I barely had enough room for these plots

    What is the front 12 rows on your planter is them rows for twin row beans ?

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  4 месяца назад

      There are 11 units on the front that can plant in between the rear units. We plant corn and cotton on 38” rows just using the rear units. We plant soybeans on 19” rows using the front and rear units.

    If you know how it does why do you do test plots

      I’ve seen positive results in one year. I like to see positive results in multiple years before I’m convinced

    can i ask what it cost to spray cotton for the bugs and what it cost for the seed to plant that helps with the bugs a acre on both

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  4 месяца назад +1

      Insecticides can cost anywhere from a few dollars per acre to $20. Our seed cost is around $100/acre

      just thinking if it would work out on paper to plant the seed that fewer bugs would hurt the cotton i know here farmers plant the stacked corn seed cause of bugs and stuff not sure if it is true or not but i have heard they get a break on crop ins when they plant stacked corn just sitting here thinking to much i guess @@griggsfarmsllc
