Mighty Blaster Review: Versus Two Other Nozzles

  • Mighty Blaster was once advertised as a "fireman's nozzle" and is now included as an add-on to the Hercules Hose when you buy that product online. It is also still sold in stores.
Here I compare it to a cheap Gilmour nozzle I bought at Target and the nozzle included with the Metal Garden Hose. I use each of those nozzles on three different hoses: Hercules Hose, Metal Garden Hose, and Pocket Hose Brass Bullet.

Your local Water Pressure is the key to getting the fire hose nozzle to be better. As a Volunteer Firefighter CVFD-MS 20 plus years of experience, I can atest to this fact. You will never get 500psi from your local water supply. Only on our Fire Trucks you'll ever experience that. Local water supply pressure nationwide is only allowed up to 55psi so that they don't burst.

I've taken leaks that went further than the mighty blaster 😜and as someone said the thumb over/kink test would be good. I always just kink the edge of the hose almost at a 45 degree angle and it works better for me than any nozzle i've used.

Gilmour wins for which one I want - with all its extras plus it has a terrific blast.
I love soft-sprinkling the Cardinals that come around in the morning and evening for dog food chips (they love it, too.) Gilmour has this gentle sprinkle.
    Thank you! ★★★★★

Excellent review! Seems the old school metal nozzles are the best. I just was looking at an all-metal Gilmour model online, but my local Lowe's carried a similar model in a different brand (around $5-$6). Gotta have a strong jet for washing the car tires and rims.

Great review! Very detailed! You should compare it versus the Brass Bullet.
Also, I just watched the infomercial for the Mighty Blaster and I noticed it had an on/off nozzle on the bottom. Is this an updated product? Could it be missing a physical part or a oporational step?

    • @Freakinreviews

I bought one of these as clearance stock at Dollarama (a Canadian dollar store company) for $4 Canadian, it broke with in a few seconds , that aluminum hex screw in the middle of the nozzle treads into some things brittle plastic

Seems like that mighty blaster wants more pressure behind it.
I wounded what it would do with a power washer pressure behind it.

You forgot the thumb over the end of the hose, and the partial hose kink. I prefer the thumb over the end of the hose for distance. Otherwise I would get a pressure washer. The cheapest nozzle will work for most purposes.

Thanks, Conservation of energy, . No energy is being added with these nozzles. One is just reducing the size of the exit. I got a new Might Blaster still new in the package for $2 at a thrift store…I prefer a small brass nozzle or dollar store model.

I had one similar to mighty blaster, best nozzle I ever used, but it wore out after like 15 years of use lol

  • @sqike001ton
    @sqike001ton 6 лет назад

The nozzle doesn't give much on the way of the pressure it comes from the pressure in the pipe usually 60ish psi and the dimeter of the hose vs the hole in the nozzle if you have a 1/2 hose with a 1/8 hole in nozzle will be the same with any. Nozzle go to a 2 inch fire hose and a 1/8 hole lot more pressure

Received mine yesterday and as already expected this is suitable for larger hose and high flow water main only. It is powerful only if used with a minimum size of a 19mm hose (3/4). I use the 1 hose” with a 32mm MDPE main supply here in UK. The advert is misleading as they forgot to mention that this is not suitable for low flow water supply.

this year I need a new hose. but if you are just going for distance just use your thumb over the end of the hose... I could get it over the fence that way. that firemans hose looks weak. you sure its not intended as an adult toy?

This seems to be a product designed more for ergonomics, and not for pressure. It seems like it would be great for people who can't or don't want to squeeze the nozzle the whole time they are using the hose..

hose diameter plays a big part in how the nozzles will shoot water. the metal hose has the smallest since it is a rubber hose covered with metal. still the MB is trash.
