As a massive Mizuno fan, I'm glad I found your channel. The little tip about coconut oil was well received. I just got these as well and conflicted about using them on AG. I have before with my Neos and Betas and the result is always the same... The toe box gets punished! Have you used the M8s on AG (without much damage to the toebox)?
Hello hello Kilian my dear, thanks for the question and for watching! You’re absolutely right-the toebox can definitely suffer more wear on artificial ground (AG) surfaces, turf, or any synthetic pitch. The boots are initially designed for firm, natural grass, so using them on AG adds extra stress, especially on the thin kangaroo leather in the toebox. This area is prone to wear (doesn't matter if M8 or the Classic version) because: Material: The kangaroo leather is exceptionally flexible and thin at the front, allowing great touch but also making it more vulnerable to scuffing from the surface and ball contact. Positioning: Being at the front, the toebox constantly makes contact with the ground and ball, which accelerates visible wear. But, like we mentioned, kangaroo leather is incredibly durable, so the wear is mostly cosmetic. In my experience, I’ve never seen actual tears or structural damage-it’s just natural scuffing that builds character over time. Personally, I don’t mind this visual wear; it adds to the boots' aesthetic and attests to their authenticity and usage. If you prefer a pristine look, a leather-friendly touch-up might help with the appearance, though I haven’t tried it myself. Let me know if you decide to go that route, and thanks again for the feedback!
@@rodgedefender I completely agree. So far it's been purely cosmetic. I was lucky enough to catch the Morelia 2 UL in gold. The turf has brushed off the gold on the toe box but there's no structural damage, just more character to my boots (which makes them unique). So I guess the answer is, "Don't sweat it, play and enjoy my good sir". Thanks for sharing your insight. Coconut oil is all I need.
Can i ask u some? I use Morelia II elite in my usual size 9us and aster 2 week i fell a little bit big like the leather overstetch. Do u raccomand go half size down and take another pair? I dont wanna waste time and money. Do u use your usually size on mizuno ?
Hey Michael, many thanks for your comment bud, more than happy to help. I am 8 UK (means 9 US). For the Morelia 2's M8 version (the cross stitched ones) I always go true to size. For the normal classic Morelia's (normal stitching pattern) my advice is to go half size down. My feet, as a reference, are 25.5 to 26 cm long, and 11 cm wide (very wide). Hence, to compensate I have to go 270 Japan Standard for the M8 and 265 for the normal Classic Morelia's. FYI - the M8's stretch is way less than the normal Morelia's.
Hello my dear, I'll soon record a video comparing the two models. And to answer your question, yes, both boots, both versions are full k-leather in all parts, except the mizuno runbird logo

Where are you buying them from, Michael? From Japan?
Sir, what is the difference between the black M8 and the black flat version in the Morelia 2 series? Also, are all of the tops complete kangaroo skin?
