His toys eventually had to become tanks IRL due to laws that were passed preventing realistic-looking toy guns (like his original alt mode) to be sold. They likely made his alt mode in the game a tank to match up with that since that’s what newer fans would be more familiar with when it came to G1 style Megs.
*This was a Final Boss Battle that truly felt incredible.* The animation, music, voice acting, everything was so well done in this game, even the aftermath of this final battle with Optimus Prime's dialogue to the Autobots. 👌 It really sucks that they haven't made a sequel, but I still hope that one day, we will get one.
No matter how many times I see this, Platinum for all their short-comings when it comes to some of their games’ writing at times, I always find that the last lines in this final fight exemplify the best of what Transformers is and the dichotomy between Autobots and Decepticon. Especially about the Transformers part when looking at Megatron defining what life is for him. For real, though it’s not something new they’ve done it certainly paints an uncomfortable picture when you replace those gyros and parts portion of the speech with blood and flesh talk from a human. Hell, I find it more chilling because it’s not in our face due to it being an effective allegory.
Most humans are like Decepticons. How Megatron feels is pretty much exactly how humans feel about robots and future AI. Inferior things we throw away into trash when we are done with it, piling heaps of trash on our planet. And one day if we survive that long we will probably go to the stars in favor of searching new habitable planets. I doubt we'd care about life on them, since we exterminated so many species on our planet anyway.
You know the lore for Transformers has only gotten better with time. Transformer Prime made me completely understand the things Megatron said in the video games of War for and Fall of Cybertron. He just wants his home back. The one he fought tooth and nail to free from a corrupt tyranny and the autobots who didn't want to see their world torn apart have divided themselves because of these 3 ideologues. The Decpeticons are not even that evil, they value strength and they just want to do whatever they want to have their home back. Imagine fighting for years and then your world is shattered and you have to flee to an alien world and hide among them lest they experiment and study upon you. How would you not yourself hate those people and do whatever you can to bring your home back? But it also takes a special person to look past another person's evils and see the fear that inspired those hateful actions and make peace with them.
The quote "till all are one" implies a sort or conquerer mindset in prime. If all are one, there will still be others. And if those others won't join, how do you think the autobots react? They react with hostility and rash decisions, at worst.
That’s pretty much what Hasbro’s been doing for Megs and Optimus since creating the Aligned Continuity. Re-establishing WHY the war started to begin with, which was over Cybertron’s corrupt social systems and government. Of course, they also showed how he became the very thing he was trying to save Cybertron from and why he and Optimus are so different yet similar. Megatron favors violent revolution to save Cybertron, while Optimus favored more peaceful and diplomatic methods. Optimus’s reasonable and understanding mindset is what lead to him being chosen by the Matrix, thus becoming a Prime. Megatron felt…very betrayed by this, despite the pair both wanting a better future for Cybertron.

They are pretty evil. Their goal is benign, but they will stop at nothing to complete it. They will kill, torture, commit genocide, and destroy an entire populated planet just to get back home.

In this game, Megatron tried to use Cybertron as a shield for his actions. As Optimus pointed out, if he really care about his home planet, he won't Cyberform Earth. Nevertheless, he tries to play the sadist by using Cybertron's history as a leverage. So even if he's lose, so do the Autobots. That's damn evil.
Their GIGANTIC medal made robots, no way in real life they would move that effin' fast, and NO, them being hi-tech aliens don't count. Now excuse while I kiss the sky. 🚬⛅😁
I'll also add Anarchy Reigns and Star Fox Zero, but those aren't exactly Platinum's best... Either way, every time stopping gimmick has its own little quirk. In Transformers Devastation in particular, you have less Focus Time, with different lengths depending on the Autobot (think Witch Time from Bayonetta, Bumblebee has the longest Focus time but is the most fragile, while Optimus and Grimlock have the least Focus time but are more resistant) but have more opportunities to activate it. Also, Transformers Devastation feels like it expands from Bayonetta's core mechanics while also incorporating elements from Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising. It's really amazing and it makes me sad how most people just gloss over these, solely on the fact that it's a licensed game and one with less production values compared to Platinum's other games. For me, this is probably my favorite Platinum game for the gameplay and boss fights alone. :)

I need to ask. Did you like War for and Fall of Cybertron? And if so, you think it could be possible to combine traits of both those games and Devastation for another good Transformers title? I'd love to see Prime accomplis those universal feays from comics.
@@MariusUrucu It's cool. I loved the sinhle player and multiplayer. But the classes in mulyiplayer were unbalanced. Jets were worthless and tanks were too slow and didn't have real good accuracy.

Imagine if Earth was uninhabitable, and you had the power to restore it to life with yourself in charge but at a cost of another planet filled with rich cultural and species much like yours. Would you do it? Destroy their planet so that yours can live again. Yeah your species are awful, but you've seen what the previous world leaders had done to ruin, you can make it right. That's Megatron. He wants his home back and he wants to make things right regardless of what it takes even if he has to kill some of his own people for it. He's doing what it takes to make sure the Transformer species survive on their planet Cybertron rather than live as stranded bots on Earth (which isn't even great, imagine being forced to stay at your cousin's house who you hate and it sucks). TFP and the previous WOC and FOC kinda she'd light that Megatron could have been a great leader, even greater than Optimus had it not been for his arrogance. He was a low caste miner who fought in gladiator arena, he is reasonably pissed as hell and wanted to overthrow the politicians and corrupted leaders (much like ours). I mean, aren't you pissed off at the elites and want their blood? So does Megatron. Believe it or not, but to the Decepticons and other former low caste Transformers, Megatron is a hero as Optimus is to the Autobots.
It's made to replicate the art style from the Transformers movie from 1986. It even has the music composed by Vince Dicola, who has composed the music for the movie too. Search on RUclips, "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost" and be amazed by the 80's feel.
Here's a fun fact. The song "You got the touch" used in the Transformers 1986 movie is also used during the intro of Shadow Warrior 2013, while Lo Wang (the protagonist) is driving his car. He even has a (what I could assume) Grimlock figurine on his dashboard. It's pretty awesome and funny at the same time.

Since most decepticons can fly since they have an aerial vehicle mode without transforming. But the ones who has tank modes or any other modes can still fly in robot mode. Which makes less sense. And the autobots mostly have car modes like trucks and sports cars and can't fly.
Megatron: Cyberspace is the center of my universe, how is it not the heart of yours? Optimus prime: cybertron is about all life, Destruction to keep Cybertron on life support there must be another way.

Imagine if Earth was uninhabitable, and you had the power to restore it to life with yourself in charge but at a cost of another planet filled with rich cultural and species much like yours. Would you do it? Destroy their planet so that yours can live again. Yeah your species are awful, but you've seen what the previous world leaders had done to ruin, you can make it right. That's Megatron. He wants his home back and he wants to make things right regardless of what it takes even if he has to kill some of his own people for it. He's doing what it takes to make sure the Transformer species survive on their planet Cybertron rather than live as stranded bots on Earth (which isn't even great, imagine being forced to stay at your cousin's house who you hate and it sucks).
TFP and the previous WOC and FOC kinda she'd light that Megatron could have been a great leader, even greater than Optimus had it not been for his arrogance. He was a low caste miner who fought in gladiator arena, he is reasonably pissed as hell and wanted to overthrow the politicians and corrupted leaders (much like ours). I mean, aren't you pissed off at the elites and want their blood? So does Megatron. Believe it or not, but to the Decepticons and other former low caste Transformers, Megatron is a hero as Optimus is to the Autobots.
I like the art direction in this game a lot. Do you have any clue of what kind of art direction this is?
It's made to replicate the art style from the Transformers movie from 1986. It even has the music composed by Vince Dicola, who has composed the music for the movie too.
Search on RUclips, "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost" and be amazed by the 80's feel.
Here's a fun fact. The song "You got the touch" used in the Transformers 1986 movie is also used during the intro of Shadow Warrior 2013, while Lo Wang (the protagonist) is driving his car. He even has a (what I could assume) Grimlock figurine on his dashboard.

I always wondered why most of the deceptions could naturally fly without transforming but not the autobots
Since most decepticons can fly since they have an aerial vehicle mode without transforming. But the ones who has tank modes or any other modes can still fly in robot mode. Which makes less sense. And the autobots mostly have car modes like trucks and sports cars and can't fly.

Optimus prime: cybertron is about all life, Destruction to keep Cybertron on life support there must be another way.
Are they going to make a sequel to this wonderful game ?
