So glad you finally added a Lexus to the fleet…the LS 430 is an awesome machine…I bet you come to love it! I think you could make a series out of cleaning it up, sorting it out mechanically and cosmetically…get a professional PDR person to attend to the dents and then you buff, polish and wax it. Add a DIY ceramic coating…make the series about building a dependable luxury vehicle for under X amount. And if/when you want to sell it I’d be a buyer.
Yay!!!!!! MWM finally bought a LEXUS! Mike, you're DEFINITELY about to fall in love with a Lexus. Make sure to watch AMD from The Car Care Nut to get pointers!
Im so proud of you mike ! 😀 Once you go Lexus you never want to go back (to a Mercedes) Its my new favorite vehicle on the channel ! Please cherish her en keep her healty. Greetings from Holland ❤🙏🏻🚘🔧😀🇺🇲
Man, I love these. This is a 3rd gen, 2002, so a pre refresh, refresh was in 2004, and yes, Mike, you're correct, this is a 3rd gen. Those some stock wheels back on it, clean it up, and enjoy it. I typically don't like black on black, but I like the black with the walnut wood, which contrasts nicely.
The mirrors have a circular clip on top that holds the spring down. The teeth have pulled away. Simply pull the clip out, re-bend the teeth and slide it back on. Preferably using a large socket. Going to need some force. I am in the finishing stages of restoring my 2001 LS. Do the camshaft seals when you do the timing belt. Otherwise, just enjoy!
Mike, you could make a video replacing the timing belt and water pump. Both are likely overdue, You can purchase two Arizonian tires at Discount Tire. It is their in-house brand made by Cooper Tire. Then, all four tires will match. The dent removals and a ceramic wax detail will also be good for a video.
Yup there quiet running all Lexus are !! My 05 gx470 has 205k miles just as quiet ! 🤐 change the oil every 3-4k miles full synthetic with wix xp filters you won’t have a problem!
You can't even get a scrapped/crashed LS430 for that money. What a smokin' deal. Also, with those small rims it will ride like a dream. Tons of sidewall.
Look at the videos The Car Care Nut did on his 660K mile LS430 for ideas. That guy has a complete step by step video for the timing belt replacement. There is another RUclips channel called JJ in Motion that did an excellent video on how to replace the cam seals. Cam seals are hard on this car but can be done if you slow down and go carefully. Get under the car, pull the main engine cover out, and see what you are dealing with in terms of leaks. Steering system problems related to age are common. The rack and pinion assembly will leak and the rubber hoses will degrade to where small pieces of rubber are floating around in the system and clog the screen built into the reservoir. The reservoir is usually impossible to clean so pricey replacement is needed. Overall these are excellent cars. I have owned 2 05 and 1 04 model years and loved them all. You have a base trim without the navigation system which is a good thing. The system is completely obsolete now.
Timing Belt replacement will be a good video and tune up, Fixing the mirrors and Please don't use Armor All on the interior, I have found STP Son of a Gun is really good for leather and vinyl, I drive a 07 Toyota Corolla with 209, 000 miles on it and I love it So Reliable, Happy for you Mikey 😊
You did great Mike! I bet you could pop out a lot of the dent in the rear door. I bet with some fresh gas it will run better. I bet it will clean up nicely!
Make sure you go with an Aisin timing belt kit and water pump, they make the OEM for Lexus. Rock Auto has them, you should be able to get the kit and pump for under $250.
Had an 03 for a decade. Changed the timing belt at 140,000 miles and 20 years - and it looked new (it was the original belt and water pump). It's DIY-able and will probably last another 140K. Replaced it with an 09 S63 a few weeks ago - so I gave up reliability for smiles...
I have the same engine 2UZ-FE I have 400000 miles on the motor. A toyota sequoia. The timing belt replacement is 80k miles overdue. The motor is still running like it should. LIKE A CHAMP HA!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya, Lexus/Toyota didn't go to a timing chain on their vehicles until 2006 so it's definitely a timing belt engine. To change my Toyota's timing chain is an "engine out" job.
I'm from texas and the sticker on the driver side windshield is for registration. It looks like it will expire in December so it hasnt been sitting for too long. The sticker will also say what county its from.
My Dad had an LS400 1990 … it was epic and ran for over 250kmi needed nothing major only AC evaporator failed and brake were weak compared to Germans but so dam durable
I had an 05 ls430 and then I bought a 08 ls460. I miss the 430 it was my favorite. The 05 had a slightly revised headlights and taillights. Little more sleeker imo. But they are great cars.
Most of the time the Button pushes through the dash it’s probably not missing. It might be right back there hidden it just pushed through. It’s common ECT button.
Finally mike !! Now you will understand the difference that is a very well made car and it’s not slow they move out ! They run over 500k all day if maintained!! I have 295k on my 00 4Runner lifted 5 inches on 33 inch Mickey Thompson tires ..
And when you replace the Spark plugs Rock Auto you can't beat the price on Denso Plugs, Please Teach yourself how to Gap Iridium spark plugs because 4 might be right and the rest all out of Spec.
For 850 bucks, you practically STOLE IT....congrats MWM!
The key with the code is what you take to the dealer for a new set of keys, it also shows you actually own the car.

When owning a Toyota, you don't know too many mechanics.
Finally, he has bought his first proper car in a not so proper condition. 😊
Mike, I love that you beat down the insurance company on the price. YOU DA MAN!
Thanks!!
There is no requirement that older cars need to be like new, if it runs, drive it, as is!
Yay!!!!!! MWM finally bought a LEXUS! Mike, you're DEFINITELY about to fall in love with a Lexus.
Make sure to watch AMD from The Car Care Nut to get pointers!
We love seeing you bring back vintage cars! Address the maintenance and cosmetic like you do, those are always good.
The missing button is pwr, ECT, snow button
Stock rims and window tints besides the usual bodywork and other fixes, she will look very smart indeed, Detailing videos are highly requested.
Lola is a beautiful intelligent animal.
Mike put a suction cup on the door and it already looks better! Keep it up with the splendid content! 👍 Looking forward to the follow-up!
A good toilet plunger often works.
Im so proud of you mike ! 😀
Once you go Lexus you never want to go back (to a Mercedes)
Its my new favorite vehicle on the channel !
Please cherish her en keep her healty.

Awesome Score Mike ! Just needs some TLC . The timing belt is a must for sure. See You In The Next Video !! 👍👍

I just like these old car dashboards, not those modern tablet only and zero buttons
Yaaaaaay! Mike gets a nice driver!!!!🎉
I knew you was a Aries lol......4/14 right here brother thanx for sharing Mike .......🔥🔥🔥❤️👍🏽💯
You bet
Mike, this is a great buy. I would fix it up and drive the hell out of it. This could be a new daily for you.

The one is key is to put in your wallet. It only works for the door. Also nice to have if you need to get new keys made at the Lexus dealer
Beautiful ls430 congratulations
A little american made mixed in will always help your channel👍👍
Absolutely awesome v log 👍 .. definitely woukd love to see you tackle the timing belt & dent removal & maybe fit some original wheels
I'm guessing Mike might daily driving this from now on 😂❤
Yup there quiet running all Lexus are !! My 05 gx470 has 205k miles just as quiet ! 🤐 change the oil every 3-4k miles full synthetic with wix xp filters you won’t have a problem!
Best LS430 ever made !!!
Toyota/Lexus are great cars, I’ve always liked Toyotas, which to each their own, enjoy!
You can't even get a scrapped/crashed LS430 for that money. What a smokin' deal. Also, with those small rims it will ride like a dream. Tons of sidewall.
Congrats on your Lexus great cars
Love how that paint still has plenty of gloss for an old car, quality. I have a 2010 ls460, very nice car, down here in New Zealand.

Re: hole in the dash, according to the 2003 manual, it is for the park assist switch.
I like it Mike, good luck. 😎👌👍
Great purchase Mike. My dad had 2 ls models, A 430 and a 400.
Those 4.3-liter 3UZ-FE engines are solid
Timing Belt replacement will be a good video and tune up, Fixing the mirrors and Please don't use Armor All on the interior, I have found STP Son of a Gun is really good for leather and vinyl, I drive a 07 Toyota Corolla with 209, 000 miles on it and I love it So Reliable, Happy for you Mikey 😊
I love the Lexus-really wish you would have grabbed that SC430 you looked at a while back.
Me too !!
The auction fees, raise the price by 50%, lol
You did great Mike!
I bet you could pop out a lot of the dent in the rear door.
I bet with some fresh gas it will run better.
I bet it will clean up nicely!
Mike finally bought a lexus!!! 🎉🎉🎉 or as I call em souped up Toyota!!!
The ES could be called a re-badged Toyota but not an LS. Toyota does not make a V8 sedan.
The mirrors you can check at the junk yard to for the mirrors
Make sure you go with an Aisin timing belt kit and water pump, they make the OEM for Lexus. Rock Auto has them, you should be able to get the kit and pump for under $250.
April 5th, you said, "Huh!
Then we share b/days😂😂😂...yeeeaaahhhhh...
Nice!!
Santa from Santa’s workshop will do a fantastic job on the Lexus..
Wow about time a good car !!! Everything those German cars have and more plus they WORK INEXPENSIVE LY
its a High end Toyota you cant go wrong
Mike great job. Awesome car. By the way im a Aries too. 4/12/77

When you change the timing belt and water pump, you may want to use the complete Aisin kit which is original equipment to Toyota-Lexus.
I would like to see a timing belt done on that Alexis. Michael, that would be cool, and a full tune up. I think you should keep this one. I love lexis
I have the same engine 2UZ-FE I have 400000 miles on the motor. A toyota sequoia. The timing belt replacement is 80k miles overdue. The motor is still running like it should. LIKE A CHAMP HA!!!!!!!!!!!
Great car Mike it’s a winner i want to see everything
my guess from other cars wing mirrors ? spring or retaining clips rusted out lost its tension and "groove" ? my best guess ?
Ya, Lexus/Toyota didn't go to a timing chain on their vehicles until 2006 so it's definitely a timing belt engine. To change my Toyota's timing chain is an "engine out" job.
Good choice on the Lexus
Wheels are fine just some tires. Want to see the ball dent repair, always get a kick out of that.
If you are going to replace the rims you should look for the rims of the refresh of that generation. They look a lot better.
Mikey is in Love with Alexus ❤️
I'm from texas and the sticker on the driver side windshield is for registration. It looks like it will expire in December so it hasnt been sitting for too long. The sticker will also say what county its from.

Those Ls430 are good cars that run better than the new Ls460 🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗
I had an 05 ls430 and then I bought a 08 ls460. I miss the 430 it was my favorite. The 05 had a slightly revised headlights and taillights. Little more sleeker imo. But they are great cars.
That timing belt job is pretty simple, and I’ll bet it could use some to other maintenance like brakes and whatnot.
Also, you don’t need any special tools.
If Mikey likes, then it's OK because we get lots of great videos.
For $30 Wally-World (as you know) will restore those headlights ✅✅
I don’t dislike the wheels but I believe in buying tires 4 at a time.
Most of the time the Button pushes through the dash it’s probably not missing. It might be right back there hidden it just pushed through. It’s common ECT button.
Ok, nice, a good car to do some DIY PDR. Heat the panel up and use a plumbers helper 😁😁 if it goes well get a nylon hammer for the little high spots.
Everything on the Lexus Mike
With the Door I'd try the old football 🏈 trick again Mikey
Finally mike !! Now you will understand the difference that is a very well made car and it’s not slow they move out ! They run over 500k all day if maintained!! I have 295k on my 00 4Runner lifted 5 inches on 33 inch Mickey Thompson tires ..
Very nice car. I would go ahead and do the trimming belt...
The LS430 is the best car you could ever buy! You should research that wonderful engine and learn all about it!
You stole that thing.
Defiantly PDR those dents if possible and do the timing belt/pump
Those engines can go 500k plus easily
Install a Tesla panel radio with modern GPS and so on. Remote start, and so on. How modern can you make it?
You scored
AKA a Toyota Crown Majesta in Japan. Arizonian = Pep Boys tires. Do the back seats recline? Looks really plush!
show the changing of the timing belt, fixing the mirrors and dents.
Put a new set of wheels off of 2015 or newer Lexus onto that will look killer
Nice car Mike
I’m not a Cubs fan……ouch that hurt a little. 😂
Nice pick up 👍🏾
Tom might like the Lexus
Collaboration with The Car Care Nut!!!!
Speaking of your birthday 🎂 how old are you? 56 is my guess! 🎉

That puppy will be running when you're gone

The best video you can do with the lexus is to go to copart in it to buy the Barracuda
key in the blk.case is a spare to put with your charge cards
No it isn't. Its the one you bring to the dealership to get new keys. You don't keep it with your credit cards.
You have to change that right front tire on that Lexus that's a snow ❄️ tire
You finally bough a real car. Screw Mercedes already.
What to do eith the lexus?
I know, creste a series on how to break your lexus!
Lexus good choice 👍
Let’s go !
good looking car
