god i love the tone progressions/shifts in will wood's songs. it does stuff to my brain. like he sounds all flirty and playful in the beginning, but the last part is so dramatic, like he's desperate but still trying to threaten/pressure someone into doing something they're hesitating about. i wish more artists could use that kind of tone progression in their songs for storytelling purposes (not that there aren't any, i just can't get enough of it lmao)
Look up "Hell's Coming With Me" by Poor Man's Poison. It's exactly what you're talking about with the progression changing the entire mood of the song.
For those of you wondering, this is from the horror podcast Camp Here and There, and it’s the theme song for a character called Up-and-Adam. We don’t really know much about him, but he’s some sort of demon that shows up in the main character’s dreams to have cryptic conversations, and also do some auto-cannibalism.

I feel like Will is just somehow completely aware of some eldritch horror that he learned of during his bender in 2012, and the only way he can express it is through incomprehensible song. And im here for it.
Idk how to explain but Will Wood is literally the modern embodiment of the Phantom of the Opera. I mean Will's music is just so dramatically over the top and all the instruments just give this musical-ish, spectacular atmosphere in each of his songs. Even the thematics of Will's music often remind me of Erik. God I love theatrical stuffs.
For a while I was really confused about why this song very explicitly avoided using swear words (like "what the heck?") because will doesn't swerve away from swearing usually, neither does chnt. It actually kind of bothered me for a while. BUT! Then I thought of something: what if this is a character trait? I love the idea that up and adam, the catholic demon, the king of contradictions himself, doesn't swear. It's so in character for what we've seen so far.
Please, do post it!! You should be fine with copyright, unless you monetize the video, also, if you play an instrument instead of using a backtrack, youtube doesn't consider it to be the same song
