2002 and 2003 Nascar Thunder look so similar. You can notice it's the same engine and physics engine. Pushed the ps1 to the max tho. Love that 3d sky, sunrays and all 18 cars with dynamic shadows. It's unbelievable for a ps1!
Music in NT 2004 tho was the best. Down from Motograter I Hate Everything About You from Three Days Grace and Across The Line from Nonpoint are soooo good!
@@TombstoneChris You noticed it's another graphic engine, physics and anims engine plus dynamic shadows and a nice static reflection, every window of every car is transparent plus the interior of all the cars, view distance, better AI? There's a lot of stuff that can bring it down to 18 on a ps1. Every thousand polygons and transparency/effects affect it a lot more than say a ps3 for example where you have to get a lot of things together for it to lag plus it handles not some millions of polygons but billions and of course the ps1 doesn't have z-buffer and everything trembles at every frame, textures warp… You know normal stuff in 94 95 96 when even just the thought of a 3D game blew your mind
When they flip in the air it reminded me alot like NR2003 Season. I used to play Nascar Thunder 2002 on the ps1 and ps2. Wow the controlling of the car is really unstable when you made Burton block Rusty Wallace And Bobby Labonte. How come it dosen't let anybody play ps1 games on the ps4 console?
It sucks that this version didn't have you racing with 43 cars, and it sucks that the PS2 version did not announce the drivers names during the starting lineups.
On a real ps1 lags more and looks with more jagged edges. But has shadows, 3D sky w/ sunray effects, 17 AI cars all damagable with shadows too. You never played on a ps1 period 😂

18 cars? Why not 43?
32 mb ram maybe? Not enough cpu for the AI and not enough gpu nor v ram for more cars. A '95 1st 3d console
@@ThaTruFily I'm pretty sure there were 43 car in NASCAR 2000 and Nascar 2001 on PS1. So I'm confident the PlayStation one was capable.

Looks better than NASCAR Heat Evolution.
This blew my mind back in 04. Played the shit out of it and actually made me a metalhead thanks to Nonpoint and Hed PE.

Nascar thunder 2003 PC is much better than the PS1 in graphics issue
Uh, PS1 is a 1995 console. You can't expect too much.
those graphics hurt my eyes

Or it would amaze you it can run this without dipping into the 20 frames or lower. Or run it at all. Plus CD music quality in-menu and game.
If PS1 graphics "hurts" your eyes, then surely Atari graphics will make you blind as a bat.
Nevermind, you're Gen Z.
