I was a kid and YTV was playing all the DBZ movies back to back and bruh; they did a clean cut with that, it was only like 30 secs until u seen piccolo again but they did it right lol
The early DBZ movies feel like they're written by Stephen King. Great character work, great villains, brutal deaths, amazing pacing and action...then run out of steam and pull an ending out of their ass in the last 5 minutes.
I love how in this movie, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu play a part. Not a big one and they get their asses handed to them, but even though Goku showed he could handle Turles and his men by himself, it’s nice to have the WHOLE Z-crew get involved.
It might be a gag but the eternal dragon's rush to go was displayed in DB Super where apparently their energy dissipates fast after they're summoned and it's hard to hold their form. Maybe it's like making a collect call and Shenron can't pay that high of a phone bill, lol.
Porunga seems generally more laid back, though he can eventually lose his cool too. Shenron, though, pretty much just has 2 defaults: "what's your wish?", and "hurry the hell up!"
I always loved that little moment when Goku secretly found a cave for Icarus to stay, and Gohan could come play with his new friend/pet. This wasn't one of those, "Goku disregarding Chi-Chi wishes/commands" by doing some insane like taking their son into another dimension where they spend a year's time in a day or training for the better part of 3 years before an android threat. Goku saw Gohan was sad after his mom told him NO to having a pet. He was in full dad mode here and I just loved it 😀
To this day, the most frustrating unanswered question that I have for this movie is; "Why the f**k didn't Goku eat a piece of the fruit?!" Bro had Turles running in base! Had he eaten just a single bite then he wouldn't have even needed Kaio-Ken to win against post-fruit Turles!
I thought Goku did eat the fruit? I'm pretty sure I remember him eating the fruit? Right? I need to rewatch this film. It's been years since I've seen it.
Turles' death is probably up there with Meta Cooler and the first Z Broly movie in terms of "we made the villain too strong, quick give Goku an instant win button!" energy.
Man, I remember being obsessed with Turles back in BT3 days. Moves like the Kill Driver and Meteor Burst (hardest ult in the entire game, btw) made me a nightmare to play against since I spammed it so much.
This is my favorite DBZ movie! Definitely feeling like ToM is the start of the running gag of my goat Piccolo getting his shit mixed like 3 or 4 seperate times per movie.
This is one of my earliest DBZ memories! I remember being so confused as to where this fit in with the show's story lol You definitely made me want to go back and watch it again
Respect to the Z squad and im glad they came out and sold the competition but they didnt have to sell that hard. Straight up devastating Ls across the board , and the power of friendship saving throw does not redeem them
So i always thought that "golden orb" was the energy from the Tree of Might. In the Ocean dub, Goku does explain it to Turles before he fires off the Genki Dama, but apparently it's just added dialogue
This was the first DBZ movie I watched, if my memory serves me correct. Uncut, with the original Ocean dub. No disrespect to Sean Schemmel, but Peter Kelamis knocked it out of the park with these early movies. I always wonder about the alternative timeline, where he remains the de facto english voice actor for Goku, and was able to embody the character in a similar manner to how Sean stepped up in Kai.
Fun fact Turles is the only character in the dragon ball franchise to destroy a spirit bomb "b but but jiren" I said destroy not repel Also remember these movies took place before vegeta joined the crew so they needed a fill in jobber piccolo unfortunately drew the short straw
You always do a great job with these and I always want to rewatch episodes and movies after watching. I challenge you to put a positive spin on DragonBall Evolution.
I wonder if Shenron doesn't like being outside of the dragon ball for extended time because he feels it's the only time he's vulnerable. Piccolo did smoke him once and I imagine that's the only way to do it. Just a guess tho
Random fact:
the Lord slug picks up immediately after this movie with piccolo meditating in the same spot
I was a kid and YTV was playing all the DBZ movies back to back and bruh; they did a clean cut with that, it was only like 30 secs until u seen piccolo again but they did it right lol
What an unlucky week.
Not quite. They use the Dragonballs in that movie too. So, it would take place a year after Tree of Might.
Let That Child Alone. I'm sorry, that will never NOT be funny.
KJM gotta give us a video on the Big Green dub
Thats poor writing but that voice is good if piccolo was a white dude
Let me alone!
As a kid, i was so hyped to see everyone get fight then disappointed they all jobbed into the next dimension

As a kid, I went to church alot growing up, so when the fruit was glowing and giving goku that godly ki, I was like "JESUS?"
I love that we get Goku, Tien, Yamcha, and Krillin all fighting together in this movie...and Chaotzu i guess
😂 he does his best..not his fault its worthless lol
Bruh I was straight up thinking of that Big Green dub line of Tien when you suddenly cut to it, that caught me off guard in a hell of a good way

How Turles stole Christmas 😂😂

Turles for real said all low-class Saiyans look the same.

@ he certainly didn’t! And it has annoyed me to this day…
The Tree of Might was my first Dragon Ball Z movie! I think it still is because it's the only time you get all the Z warriors together.
Turles' death is probably up there with Meta Cooler and the first Z Broly movie in terms of "we made the villain too strong, quick give Goku an instant win button!" energy.
Krillin stay dripped out tho
Buddy had it on tbh
DragonBall Z: The Tree of Might. My favorite DBZ Movie
"Let that child alone" 🗿
~Big Green

9:24 wait until cooler’s revenge.

😂 let's be real WHY can the Kamehameha put out fires?
13:11 saw the soul leave that man
Another rare occasion where the Genkidama does what it's supposed to. Too bad it isn't canon.
They really should of just had Piccolo beat the henchmen like in Cooler’s Revenge
6:07 when did Squidward get into voice acting?
goonlong lmao
Respect to the Z squad and im glad they came out and sold the competition but they didnt have to sell that hard. Straight up devastating Ls across the board , and the power of friendship saving throw does not redeem them

Does anyone else remember that atrocious edit that Ocean Dub make of this scene?
Keep posting brooooo, do all the series content, movies n all

We see the fit piccolo 😂
Goat movie from Big Tori 😅

We are getting close to Broly’s commentary I can feel it 😂
My favorite movie...
Sato's animations is Kami Tier!

Goonlong 😂😂😂
Rule 34 Turles is peak.
Here we go!
I'd imagine Shenron is annoy because the dragon balls aren't supposed to be used so often and the z warriors use them like every year.
Blackarot > Goku Black
Nuff said.😎
MY REQUEST WAS HEARD 🙏🙏🙏
Yeaaa I love watching this movie on DVD series tho as a teenager the tree of might!!!! Favorite 😆😆😆😆😆😁😁😁
Where are my subtitles :(
This movie is the plot of Naruto
The tree of might....... You mean the plot of Boruto?
World's Strongest was so superior. But I miss the days where the Z crew could actually contribute.
This is ass pull of the century
