How many hours do you guys spend on Social Media? Has it changed after watching The Social Dilemma? 🤔👇
I havent watched the social delimma. I Spent most time on youtube but thats mostly due to music. Other social media may be 20mins a day. My most procrastinanting site is Twitch/youtube watching some amongus channels which is basically a reality tv show.

I deleted facebook 7 or 8 years ago and my life improved drastically. Haven't missed it once. RUclips is my only downfall. Trust me, you don't need to know what your friends from high school ate for dinner.

Yes. You can learn a lot from RUclips vids. But other social media is mind numbing scrolling. Wasting hours of your life. RUclips you can choose what you want to see each time

I threw away social media over a year ago, all except for RUclips. I couldn't be happier or more productive now.
RUclips is still heavily censored. It just also knows it needs content to survive..

I don't do social media, for a long time now. I do think RUclips is a modern marvel though, even with its many problems. I like stuff like old concerts, educational, diy, and documentaries -often from the smaller channels, the comment sections on these are mostly cool, informative, and positive on RUclips -almost like the pre-social -media days. Have a nice day!

4:27 True story. Most people who yell i will boycott something never used that service/product.
I deleted my personal social media accounts about 6 months ago. I just left up a message for 24 hours saying message me your contact number if you still want to talk to me the old way . After 24 hours I deleted everything and never looked back , youtube is the closest thing to social media I use. I don't even look at reddit or nothing. I also stopped watching the news and unfollowed 95 percent of youtube channels about politics or cultural issues . When I say life has improved I mean my happiness and peace is so much higher and that is in the face of lost income and real life actually being harder.. think about that for a moment . I challenge anyone try it for 30 days and see . And when people try to tell you what you are missing or they miss you on there, tell them nah I don't want to talk about that I'm done with it and change the subject .

I quit all social media before the 2016 election. Finally got my wife to go along with it this year. Now I have to convince my over 70 parents how they're being manipulated lol.

the craziness of 2020 is directly related to social media and the manipulation of the masses, I quit FB in 2008 and I've never been happier
i feel blessed that i grew up before the internet was a thing. when social media started becoming a thing it just seemed like some annoying trend among kids that would pass. i never saw any reason to use it. i could communicate with friends and family just fine using a cell phone, email, texting, whatever. that's still true today. i could never have imagined what it would do to our society and i still don't understand why people feel like it's a necessity.
The internet is a wonderful thing. It in itself is a great communication and educational tool. I mean, you have basically whatever information you want at your fingertips. However, you can apply that same logic to misinformation and echo chambering. The problem will always be how the average person uses it. Most people aren't taking advantage of the internet to better themselves or society, just to do the same playground drama bs they've always done. It's just another avenue for them.

It straight up ruined the internet lol it completely commercialized and centralized a benign and public entity. Social media completely destroyed anonymity on the current world wide web, and I think the only way to take it back is to stop using social media on a massive scale. Which won't happen.

I used myspace and then Facebook. Then my Facebook account got hacked like 8 years ago and I couldn't remember my password and I never bothered resetting it. That concluded my social media experience. I might still be linking scams out there, what do I know?

Facebook is nothing but repetitive memes, politics, outrage, morons talking, and people trying to be popular by any means necessary. It's a cesspool. I'm here to be convinced to leave. It's an addiction. I admit I got hooked, but I'm really trying to break myself from it. Especially after these recent hearings with Facebook and Twitter.
I had gotten several 30 day suspensions from Facebook for "violating community standards" because of my conservative views. The last time was my last straw with Facebook when I had just come off of a 30 day suspension. I hadn't posted anything and within a half hour I got another notice from Facebook that I had violated community standards. I disputed their decision to suspend me for another 30 days and I asked why, when I hadn't even posted anything ? Their answer was, FOR A POST OF MINE THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY A YEAR OLD. I was livid and lost my temper with them and called them everything I could think of and then told whomever it was at FB that suspended me, to go F@#K THEMSELVES ! That was around a year and a half ago. After that episode I have no intentions of ever going back.

I quit Facebook because I was increasingly acting like a d*ck on it. I realised, eventually, the best thing to do was to remove myself from it. It's five years and counting... I reckon Nia is right, to an extent, and it's human nature. However, a site such as FB plays into any prejudices and triggers you might have. It's a vile place. As for Twitter, I don't go there, never have, never will.
I don't do Twitter, Instagram. I only use FB, and that's sparingly. I originally got on FB to find old military friends that are all over the world. But I'm probably on it about an hour a month at the most.
