"I hope people don't remember Lin Dan just for the numerous titles that he won, but also for working hard to pursue his goals, in spite of poor performance and old age. In my opinion, that is more meaningful than winning titles." Mad respect to this man.
Pardon my French, but bullshit. It is all about the titles. Lots of people work hard and go to great lengths to achieve their goals. However, it takes more than that to be a champion who can perform at the highest level on the biggest stage. It takes the mind and heart. Lin Dan was the greatest at that.
@@mountaindew7190 i'm sorry but that is not b.s. Do you know Taufik Hidayat? He was Indonesian MS player with supernatural talent on par with Lin Dan. He won so many titles including Olympic and Asian Games gold before he hit 26 years of age, (also reached no. 1 at age 19, not even Super Dan could achieve those feats so early in his career). Then you know what happened next? His career went downhil ironically as he was supposed to hit his peak years as player? You know why? Because he STOPPED working hard and lived a celebrity life with fancy cars, celeb gfs, and gossip. Talent alone is NOT enough, you need to work hard to achieve your dream. Lin Dan clearly refers to this.
@@harukrentz435 HUNDRED PERCENT well done mate 👏 titles and all help build your legend but it's your ethics that solidify and eternalize it. Basically if you're a shit human being or easily put down when you enter a tough spot in life, no one's gonna bother to remember you for long, no matter how many titles or talents you have
I thought Lin Dan was a bad boy, but after watch this, I jist realize He has so many kindness, but he never really show it in the court. The way he speaks, his eyes tell the truth.

Best player ever; however it’s painful to watch him play these days; literally a shadow of his former self. Really torn - want to see new records set by Super Dan but felt almost embarrassed that we don’t see any fighting and fire in his games anymore.
Ma long? He doesnt play badminton. I think you missunderstood the thing with the 2 spots. To explain it, in badminton there are 2 spots in every discipline so in mens singles (Shi yuqi and chen long, just as an example), and then there are 2 spots for mens doubles, and 2 spots in mixed doubles and so on. I think in tennis and tabletennis its the same system, so Ma long will be there I guess

There will be no player like Lin Dan. He is not only the greatest but also the most special player.
Truly the most amazing and remarkable badminton player of all time. Give it up for Lin Da everyone ! 😁😁
Big big respect from indonesia 💪
Lin Dan, the greatest of all time. No doubt!!! At that is coming from a Danish fan who rarely rooted for him.
I pursue to play badminton at this time its because of LIN Dan LEE Chong Wei. My badminton idols, but the GREATEST OF ALL TIME for me is LIN Dan.
These should be 30-45 minute series tbh. I would love to see long profiles of these top players!
Kento Momota next?!

Lin Dan is the best in badminton so he can't list any idols from badminton HAHAHA that's quite funny too
Lin dan's expectation of respect: attain lee chong wei's respect (won people's heart by hardwork)
Lee chong wei's expectation of respect: achieve lin dan's respect (won major title with talent)
No one wins so many titles with talent along.
Legend
Lin Dan is by the Jordan of badminton, probably even more distinguished to be honest.

Lin Dan is also only player who has won 3 consecutive world championships
And the only one to win 5 world championship. No other player has more than 2.
@@AgentJ2007 Yes that is what most of people remember but nearly all forget he has won 3 in a row.
We're just looking back at the legacy now He is retired and indeed the history is stunning.
Respect !!
I can imagine how was the pressure he had in 2008 because he played at home
He had also crowd support during the matches so this balance things out.
"Being persistent and never giving up is more important than titles" he says. Easy for him to say since he has won everything there is to win...
