The MDD export trick works really well for other forms of simulations as well, it's really useful for locking in things like modifiers and driver animations, it's especially useful if you've made a complicated animation or simulation in blender and you want to put it into a game engine like unity or unreal, I use it all the time, it makes a ton of shape keys, which can be an issue but aside from that it's really good! :)
I don't understand why, but my cash is changing size and position of the flag when loaded. I applied original position before baking animation, but it doesn't help.

This is actually brilliant! Do you think this'll work with other cache objects like for particles or fluids?
Brilliant!
Would have been handy to learn how to put the material on for beginners.
why does my mesh get displaced when i add the mesh cache
Try applying scale/rotation/location?
your preview you shown the first 1-2minutes isnt even looped at all?
00:25 I literally shows the beginning and ending frames.

My bad. Flag was a daughter object of empty, and empty's size wasn't allpied.
I know you read my comment every time
