Gel polish does have a sticky layer, you need to remove with it will alcohol or some sort of gel residue remover. Also those little lamps are not really meant for full curing of nails, they are meant for flash curing so it’s also possible the gel isn’t cured properly. Be careful not to get the gel on your skin as it can cause an allergic reaction. Blooming gel will make it bloom as you wanted it too. You also shouldn’t ingest any gel product. Watch some RUclips videos and you will have it down in no time ❤
Actually, those lights can handle full curing, been doing mine PRIOR to the pandemic and they cure fine. Do a whole minute or 1:30, check darker colors, gel is EASY, you just have to practice like everything else, and you can have weird looking sets before you get the hang of it.
im no nail tech but i also do my nails at home. i just get those clear plastic nail tips (buy them pre-shaped) and paint them before i stick them on my fingers. Then all you have to do if pop off ur old nail things, soak the old glue off ur fingers, give them a light buff and stick the new ones on. Also because u paint them before sticking them on u can touch stuff right away and dont have to wait for polish to dry. personally best thing for me because i cant be bothered to file forever and work with arylics or gel.
Ok I do this too but please don't use SUPERGLUE because allergies. Etos en Kruidvat have really good nail glue. Especially the one from Etos has a brush which I love.
As a person who do gel nails for a Living - This was PAINFUL to Watch! 😅 you have to be careful boo, almost everything u did was done wrong and i would not like to see u get hurt by that e-file or develop an allergic reaction! 🙏🏼
I love how you start the video dancing, think to yourself hmmmm, I can't possibly continue without Pablo, go and get Pablo and then finish your intro. There are so many reasons why I watch you but dances with cats is likely my favorite reason ever. 🖤
So when gel cures it leaves a sticky layer (inhibition layer). With base a color gels this allows the gel to adhere to itself. Once you put the topcoat on you can wipe that sticky layer off. You can also get a no wipe topcoat that is not sticky. Also, you may have had a hard with the file on your right hand bc you have to change the rotation. It also looked like it was going way too fast.
Keep in mind that gel nail polishes also expire. There should be an expiration date on the bottle or package somewhere. After it expires, it's almost impossible to get it to cure the right way.
I bite my nails, have a massive nail collection(that I use about 5 times a year), and have thin gross nails. As others have said, you need Blooming Gel for that look. It self levels slower, so it allows that spread. You can get a little spread from the top coat, but you would need to work really fast.
Ok, here are some helpful tips. I'm not a certified nail tech, but I have been a DIY Nail Enthusiast for like 3 years😊 As far as using the drill there is usually a forward and reverse switch and that could have been part of the reason you were having difficulties. Because the drill will only file off in one direction at a time. Then leaving those nails on with out filling in the gap or getting rid of anything that has lifted can hurt your nails in the long run. When it comes to the design you can use a base coat to get the look you were trying to achieve but it won't work with a top coat. As far as the nails being sticky after curing that's normal but it could also not be fully cured b/c those little lamps aren't strong enough to fully cure. Also, you could always with the gel polish with some alcohol to remove the sticky inhibition layer so nothing gets stuck to them while you're doing your nails 😊 I hope this helps you, we all started somewhere it's just better to be safe than sorry and not be able to wear gel products anymore 😊
Please be very careful with the gel polish not touching your skin. I did my own nails at home for about 1 year when one day I got blisters all over my fingers and developed an allergic reaction
It’s normal for gel polish to feel sticky after curing in the lamp, it’s called the inhibition layer. You need to put a no-wipe top coat over it OR put a top coat on and wipe it with alcohol afterwards
I have the song Maniac playing in my head throughout this whole video 😂😂😂 🎶She's a maniac Maniac with a file And she's filing like she's never filed before 🎶

You needed blooming gel for sure. Also I am scared for that acrylic since it looked like it was lifting. Good attempt though, they still turned out a vibe.
Yes the sticky layer is supposed to be there on color polish. You must put top coat on it and then you can wipe it off if it’s not a non-wipe top. And stop calling it wet😂 it’s not wet it only has a dispersion layer 😂😂😂 Yeah, blooming gel would do good but I know it’s possible to make it “smudge” with acetone and maybe alcohol too. However I actually like yours quite a lot. The vision is there I saw it. I’ve been doing my own nails since 2016 and I’m just excited for those new techniques and some new products that have changed my entire experience and I feel so happy about it. I still cannot do it all perfect but guess “we don’t strive for perfection here” should become a new mantra 😂 On the side note, a thin layer of either builder gel/polygel or acrylic should do help with smoothing out the grown out part to the existing product remainder cause growing out will make pull on natural nail (especially the very fragile ones) and it will feel sensitive (or of that sort of feeling) Anyway just tossing out things I’d do but I’m not a professional per se just someone that understands it in her brain just lack the brain-hand-eye coordination to pull of salon-perfect. Also I now need a new electric file and maybe I will invest a little bit in it as the previous one survived only for a little bit compared to first one I got when I first started using e-file for nails (otherwise I just use the regular files it’s just the cuticle area that is hard for me cause the 🩸bath I cause with my clumsy non-ambidextrous hands😂) Idk why I said all of this like anyone would care but y’all take care and have an amazing time ✨
When I used to use glue on nails, when I wore them for more than a week, I could peel them off, buff my nails smooth and put on new ones. No sanding, three minutes. 😘
Nail Art Videos are built on a mix of having specific products that they only tell you about if they will be making money off of them and LIES! And those small and cheap curing machines do not work at all. You should make some fun videos when you're living in Bali. They don't have to be anything like the ones you do when you aren't. We never feel like ourselves unless we are changing something but it's a pretty toxic way to live.
Do you think she knows you can turn the drill file in reverse for the opposite hand? And the gel is sticky, you can wipe it with alochol to make it not sticky
I recently threw out all my nail stuff when I got scared of giving myself an allergy bc it’s the same kind of plastic they use in tooth fillings and hip protheses and stuff and that would suck💀
You definitely need base coat so it doesn't get sticky and after too coat. You need to wipe with rubbing alcohol. Do my gel polish alot . Can be a pain. Lol yours look good!
You need to be extremely careful with these products and make sure you don’t get it on your skin and that means wiping the sticky layer with rubbing alcohol. You especially don’t want to have product in your skin when you put it under the uv lamp. You will develop contact dermatitis if you aren’t careful.

It feels wet because after you do the led and your nails are finished you need to use rubbing alcohol on them when your done to take off the wetness. 😅

I wipe the top coat with a clean paper towel, no acetone.... because the acetone weakens the colored gel layers.
You can use alcohol to wipe the nails to remove the sticky inhibition layer, but I wouldn't use acetone b/c that's a remover.
Not acetone, but normal nailcleaner for gelpolish
You have to use blooming gel to get the spreading of the color you were looking for. Blooming gel has completely changed my nail art game, seriously.

So... how much are you all paying for your nails? I go every 3 weeks and pay 47....
A full acrylic set with 1 color is about €50-60 here, but in Bali I paid €30 for a full set with 3D design and chrome powder 🤯
Where I go in Sweden I pay 500 SEK (44 euro/48 usd) for removal and a new set with one color 😊
