Hey peeps! I've decided to do some SoD content till we reach the cata beta, since WOTLK is basically over. REMINDER FOR PEOPLE: Im talking PvE, PvP is not something this channel ever looked at seriously, those rewards are looked at for a PvE.
well spell does nature dmg > + 16 nature and fire dmg is more than +14 spell dmg no? we use mostly nature and fire dmg, since those specific school of magic items get higher numbers than plain SP items it seems like a gain? yes, plain SP improves ALL spells, but higher nature/fire dmg gain for our main spamable spells is worse how? the spell still is X school of magic with SP items or not or is there some hidden vanilla magic about calculating spell DMG?
The shield has all spell dmg/healing because gaining 14 healing power is WAY better then having 2 more nature/fire dmg. Changing it to pure Dmg would seem like a sizeable nerf to it for PvP.
I know if you’re new you don’t know that. but I am a PvE only gamer, I don’t care for PvP I only do it for rewards IF they are useful and give me a better chance of parsing, and I don’t know if it works in vanilla, but isn’t our heal nature aka should increase with nature spell power?
Hey bro, I don't understand why you wish the shield was fire and/or nature damage. The tool tip being damage and healing, is going to cover everything fire or nature would plus frost and healing. It is overall a better item than the element specific damage bonus like the warlock rings you used as an example. Thats a big W being that Shaman gets a true damage and healing epic over some of the other options. This whole take caught me way off guard, I was pausing and looking at the tool tips seeing if there is something I missed, but there is not.
Yeh honestly had the same thought. Spell power is twice as valuable in comparison to a specific dmg like nature or fire since all spells benefit from it, including heals.

@@EleEnjoyerIts just a bad take. You complain about +14 spelldmg shield which is a fucking great item, while other classes get a +14 fire dmg items. Its stupid. And even in 10 man raids there will be a moment where a go ele shaman throws an offheal in a good raid group. Just accept it and stop being so protective.

Okay, I'm all ears for the vanilla gods since I'm clearly wrong. LB does nature dmg > you get "up to 14 magical spell damage" or "16 nature spell dmg" does the 14 extra spell dmg scale different with LB and not do nature dmg? because clearly items with specific magic school get higher ratio of numbers than plain SP.

The armor on the shield is scuffed aswell, the SM one which is a lvl 39 rare shield has about 350 more armor which is a huge difference.

No bro, having 14spell power is far better than +16 fire or frost. It isn't even close.

and that being said, for PvE it would be better. and most of these are probably used to bridge the gap before u get PvE BIS from raid .
