The groups organize themselves and come to the leader with options to decide on. That's true hierarchy. True leadership. A sigma is not a real prefix. It doesn't exist. Beta males have a feelings based non logical mind. They make for a rich history of genocide. Terrible governments and atrocities new and old.
Agree with your assumptions and statements. Currently, the Sigma isn’t even acknowledged as a leadership quality. A management seminar that I was in typed everyone’s personality type. Then they physically separated us all into our personality types. The speaker then started moving the energy level up, asking, driving the alphas into a “we make decisions and make things happen, we run everything” frenzy. Then the speaker turned to the smaller group and asked us, “what happens when their projects fail or implode?” Our response, “we fix their project and their problems and they don’t even realize what we did.” The speaker turned to “the alphas” and said, “listen to these people and you will succeed, don’t listen to them, do your own thing and you will fail.”
Was at a company team building day decades ago & the Alphas all grabbed their yard sticks for an Appendage measuring comp I & a few others were in another group - the outsiders. We planned together & worked as one whilst the Alphas all argued. The results were calculated with my group outsmarting the Alphas to a lower level. Ironic they had a bogus awards ceremony & my group ignored it & went home.

Your confusion comes from the made up term "sigma" The terms alpha and beta were created to explain the hierarchy in some species in the animal kingdom not for humans. Humans relate to the hierarchy so they naturally use these terms to explain their position within their own circles. In simple terms, if you lack the qualities, ambition and effort to be an alpha make then you simply aren't an alpha male. Calling yourself a sigma male is like a fat kid saying he has big bones... 20 year Navy vet, retired at E8. Next step was E9 if I wanted to stay in past 20. Not given a choice. E9 was too much paper pushing, no more cooking at all ( I was a culinary specialist), and far too much time dealing with officers. I took my retirement and never looked back. At 39, I have no boss, I have no workers, I come home to a nice quiet empty house, compared to a 5,000 personnel aircraft carrier. One day I might open a resteraunt, if I can tear myself away from hunting and fishing seasons.
I did 9 years as a submarine STS. I had no desire to make chief. The politics were ridiculous. I felt some of it because my chief would have to leave because of his kid, and had to deal with the Assistant Navigator. He was a cock bag and found out when I was running a division as a 2nd class. Im happy being a DON civilian now
Its uncanny as I reflect on my past and seeing so much of what you are revealing in these videos. Its only been a month when I even heard of a Sigma, yet it seems I am one! Thanks Achieve Greatness!
Don't know why this popped in my recommendations but this is great. I am retired Navy. I've had arrogant, alpha superiors who didn't know me, push me into leadership situations thinking (probably hoping) I'd fail, but I wouldn't. They'd put me in failing, or worse, situations, without any support and leaving me to make decisions for officers several ranks higher, but I refused to fail. My team had my back, and I had theirs. Higher leadership showed themselves to be obviously utterly useless. It was so humiliating for these superiors they finally tried to promote me out of the job. I refused to be promoted and moved laterally to a job of my choice, as the intelligence officer for the Admiral who's now the commander of the navy. Anyway, it just blatantly exposed the ineptness of our organization and I finally quit. Now I have my own company.
Being a sigma male or female, I see it as being a gentleman or lady. It truly is a matter of respect. To yourself and others. You have to earn it! You learn it to others not by words but with actions. Everytime someone gets this insight (yes you can notice it), I feel hope for a better world!
100% agree. This sums up my professional career in the past decade. Being a sigma male in the workplace is a thankless role, however, the desire to guide people unconditionally and seeing them become successful is all the thanks I need. I am also able to create a life-long network as opposed to temporary colleagues who just move on with their lives when they part ways with the firm.
Not really sure if I'm a sigma but I've Been Told... I personally just don't like dealing with people who are lazy, don't want to learn, or like the half-ass everything they do in life... my time is better suited doing other things
I just prefer to be responsible onky for what I can control. Followers need to be voluntary. If they want to join my cause and my network then great. And actually they will not be treated as followers. They will be empowered to do their own thing as well. Being a leader is not really being at the top of the pyramid for me. It's more about being connected to others who are doing their own thing and we're all a team. So really we're all leaders but of our own lanes.
Observers are thoughtful and proceed with actions with intent. Which is different type of leadership, which is by leading by example, instead of force of ideology, which resonates/inspires people differently.
One of my old bosses used to tell us, "I'm in charge. You guys have to respect me." Nothing breeds disrespect more than demanding to be respected. Especially when respect isn't reciprocal.
I never force and put not pressure on no one. I.slwsys show by example through integrity. I believe that integrity is the most important quality for both individual and leader to have in life and very strong moral compass too.
Perhaps you fear being vulnerable. That’s what it is for most people these days. It’s all about image. Right or wrong alpha’s do not fear being vulnerable.
@The66-tqst I don't think so. I've served in a submarine. Flown airplanes and hanggliders. Cave diving. Hunting... I'm rather addicted to danger. Vulnerable?
Let others lead until you see the entrance to the rabbit hole then. if possible, step in and change course. Saves allot of ego confrontation. If not possible, just bail. When forced to deal with others always have an exit plan.
The issue is that you will find people don’t want or like your ideas because they aren’t THEIR ideas. When they show who they are, walk away, there is no saving that situation.
I have no desire to lead, I lead for a longtime, I didn't start this way, I was once more in line with an alpha male , but something happened that changed my out look, I had to pull away for years before returning , now I concern myself with myself and my future. I'll lead briefly to safe someone , but no more then that. I have no desire to lead , could careless for credit or position. If I wanted it, i could have it easily , but I see no purpose to it, why take responsibility for others when I don't need to. I will safe someone in a moment , but id rather them fail or succeed on their own, people need to fail and succeed on their own merit, people have become weak and ungrateful, they don't need or deserve a leader currently, let them fail, failure leads to maturity through pain , and that is sadly what's needed right now. I can succeed in any situation, I see people look at me when things are falling apart , but I find it more comfortable and gratification is higher on my own.
@@rumblehat4357 Very true. When working within a committee situation, I've learned over the years never confront directly. I'll catch them by themselves and pose a question on why something is never done a different way as if talking to myself, then walk away not waiting for an answer. planting the seed for them to consider. Almost always they will suggest it next meeting. Giving them the credit for the idea, I don't care I got what I wanted without confrontation.
@@toon2u1funny, but I offered an idea, they said no, then a few months later the secretary offered the same idea as if it was hers. I just shook my head at her.
I never wanted leadership and turned it down many times but in the military i had 2 times where i had little choices and took it on with we will get it done together as a whole unit attitude .
I trade time for money. It's a transaction. If the ship sinks, I find another ship. I give zero F's. I have a profession in high demand, and often meet "leaders" who couldn't lead their way out of a paper bag with the lights on.
To be a true leader you must be willing to send someone to their demise! I will never ask anyone to do something I'm not willing to do myself. The best leaders are always the ones who do not want the responsibility! But are forced to become the leader because of the incompetence of others!
Often, it's best to be the senior Tribe member & not the chief. Fill the manager role if needed but step back as soon as there is a new leader as the manager. I regretted this many times being pushed into applying for management roles & deciding against them.
The combination of Sigma male, Capricorn birth sign, introverted personality, ADHD hyper focus, and being physically intimidating has gotten me where I wanted to be in life.
I didnt know what is the traits of sigma males but i agree what has been described the traits of the sigma male personality.. Because my belief and thoughts r the same exact.. Naturally from my childhood.. Especially thinking about leadership and traits and beliefs in me are the exact point to point same in my self.. I think i m the one who is sigma male personality and traits.. Thanks for the valuable and meaningful infirnation about this persinality called Sigma male.❤👍🏻
To a large extent I think it comes down to the disgust with anything that have a taste of falsehood or fake to it. To be a visible leader often means being unfree and having to accept courses of actions that we don’t really believe in. Political considerations dilute our inherent values and we end up loosing touch with our own authentic selves. This becomes obvious when watching the tormented faces of people in politics that stems from their loss of personal integrity and honesty. To maintain and cultivate ones own integrity and honesty must always be first priority. That is the only way to ensure our contributions to the world hold true values, sincerity and insights.
These are good qualities. The world needs more people like this. I see lists like this as something to keep working toward. When these Sigma videos started coming out it always amused me that so many were commenting “That’s me! That’s me!”, even though the videos all clearly stated that Sigmas don’t care about how the world perceives them. Does anyone think I might be a Sigma? Why would I care if they did ?
I'll lead only where essential; only for the common good. I'm happiest empowering others from the wings provided it gets a great result for all and me by proxy.
I chose to develop my own business in silicon valley selling solutions instead of services. That was in 1982. I find the freedom of independent thought and action much more productive and enjoyable
I would not say ".... we choose not to lead..." because there are probably plenty of us that take & look for leadership roles. But what I would say is that we look for certain roles & if it doesn't feel right, we do not take the position & take another position that does feel right.
This. Because taking a leadership role simply BECAUSE it’s a leadership role does not seem honest. Take a role in leadership that is in an interest, then it is real. I would never want to be in charge of a company or project I had no interest in.
I'm actually impressed people noticed us at all. Just know all sigma males carry a heavy burden. We can not be allowed a single mistake, but we're not burdened by spilled milk.
I prefer the position of being an advisor or right hand of the throne. It took a while but I finally found an employer who knows how to use me in this fashion.
💡In this society, leadership usually entails ego as well as unnecessary blind following of individuals who are ready to undermine the one in the leadership position 24/7. Don't have the time for it‼️
I’m sure there are lots of points here that have a lot of things I agree with, but if I catch myself thinking “yes, this is me” it feels like I, buying into copium. Qualities as mentioned in this video probably also need to be cultivated as well, if those are points and traits agreed with or hoped to be possessing.
We dont give advice because the worst vice is advice - The message under the advice is: "You are not smart enough or deep enough or creative enough to solve the problem yourself. I do, so I will help you and I will get some of your serotonin because I am too stupid to get my self esteem/serotonin from dominance over things and training my brilliant dog, so I get it from feeling superior instead. If someone asks me for advice, I start asking them questions until they get the answer solution themselves - they get the self esteem they deserve and I get the satisfaction felt by midwives.
From the 2000 movie Gladiator and is spoken by Russell Crowe's character, Maximus: *Marcus Aurelius:* "Won't you accept this great honor that I have offered you?" *Maximus:* "With all my heart, no."
I just left my job caus my leader was dragging me down, instead of lifting me up. I made this very clear, he appologized and then immediately started to defend himself. He felt attacked by my honesty, he said he never experienced this. As long as I tolerated his shitty behaviour, I was his best buddy and working partner. Once I started to expose him, for the sake of a safe working safe, he immediately started to tell shit about me, trying to manipulate me, to lower my selfworth. the funny thing is, he doesn't get fired, but helped, caus everyone should be able to learn from mistakes. But he doesn't see it as mistakes. he will never change. I left the company, I didn't want to do anything with these kinda vibes. I can tell out of life experiences, sometimes its better to leave before hell breaks lose. most companies make big mistakes with the roles they give to people. this is very harmful for a company.
This one makes me think. Yeah, technically, all 10 points match me, at least on a surface level. But I just cannot see myself as a "natural-born leader". It's more than just choosing not to lead; I avoid it because it's outside my competence. The few times I've been forced into a leadership role, I've coped by working the team into making the decisions collaboratively while I tried to identify who seemed to _actually_ be a natural leader, and then nudged them into taking over that role while I pulled back. Once that person settled into the leadership role, things ran much more smoothly than they did when I was there. I'm a natural-born _supporter_ (not follower). While I fit Sigma more closely than any of the other Greek letter social types, the two things that just don't _quite_ fit me are this and "Sigmas are irresistible to women". OK, that second one actually doesn't fit me at all 😂.
The INTJ personality type is often associated with the characteristics of successful Six Sigma Black Belts. The INTJ personality type is characterized by: *Independence:* INTJs thrive in environments that give them creative freedom and autonomy. *Creativity:* INTJs have an innate desire to express themselves and build systems. *Analytical skills:* INTJs are proficient at analyzing and formulating complex theories. *Confidence:* INTJs are confident in their abilities and aware of their limitations. INTJ stands for Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, and Judgment. INTJs make up 2.6% of the general population, 3% of men, and 2.2% of women.
A smart sigma does not ignore the past or failures, they dwell on them, however, also have the capability to focus on solutions and fixing problems simultaneously,we are not positive but realists, that incompuses sad realities that we acknowledge and analyse, not just ignore and try to focus on future or solving issues,we are a mixture of contradictions but somehow manage it simultaneously
Well leading will just drawn many atention what i do is I play average and use people according to their skills and capabilities. People are egotistic by nature and drawn by merits. By this i exploit their sense of superiority. You take charge and i ripped the bennefits of your hard work
One more reason my bro: a true sigmas understands that it's not the chair who makes the leader(and to be honest the chair makes you arrogant or lazy) it's the work and the results that a true leader makes
I think we do it cause we understand the work, the way it works, we see the leader’s strengths and weaknesses as well as the rest of the team. We just don’t say nothing because we enjoy the circus.
I can relate. In leadership roles i want to help others be better versions of themselves, most people can't take raw, unfiltered, no beating around the bush constructive criticism designed to make you better. Most rather have comfort and a leader who makes them feel good, tell them what they want to hear not what they need to hear. Sure i can do that too or blend the two but i rather not. I want to be efficient and myself; not social engineering games. Then layer on the corporate politics ontop. You cant always speak your mind and have to go along with the corporate narrative(covid, dei, pronouns and etc)..yeah, climbing that ladder further can truely be a game not all want to play.

Observers are thoughtful and proceed with actions with intent. Which is different type of leadership, which is by leading by example, instead of force of ideology, which resonates/inspires people differently.
It cultivates self confidence and self respect in others.
One of my old bosses used to tell us, "I'm in charge. You guys have to respect me."
Nothing breeds disrespect more than demanding to be respected. Especially when respect isn't reciprocal.
@@chazzmccloud36 respect comes when you show competence in your job whether your leading or following. That makes it reciprocal.
we choose not to lead, because that role is merely the action of commanding others. we make the better overseer to the leader or advisor.
Us Sigma's lead ourselves and that's enough!
That's my gig
I never force and put not pressure on no one. I.slwsys show by example through integrity. I believe that integrity is the most important quality for both individual and leader to have in life and very strong moral compass too.
Just because you are able to rent a studio apartment, it doesn't mean you're a Sigma male.. Okay?
@@valcrist7428 back up your opinion, why did you say this?
I've often wondered about this. Why do I not crave the alpha position? Why do I prefer to lead from the shadows?
Perhaps you fear being vulnerable. That’s what it is for most people these days. It’s all about image. Right or wrong alpha’s do not fear being vulnerable.
@The66-tqst I don't think so. I've served in a submarine. Flown airplanes and hanggliders. Cave diving. Hunting... I'm rather addicted to danger. Vulnerable?
Stealth leadership has many advantages.
Just because you are able to rent a studio apartment, it doesn't mean you're a Sigma male.. Okay?
100% prefer to operate in the shadows.
Amen to that my fellow ninja 🥷
I will never lead unless I’m convinced that my leadership will add value to the team. If someone else wants to satisfy their ego, so be it.
In my career field, it's usually the guy with experience & no fucks left to give, but passes on experience to empower someone else
I never wanted leadership and turned it down many times but in the military i had 2 times where i had little choices and took it on with we will get it done together as a whole unit attitude .
Great video!!
I never realized I am a sigma male. I like it a lot!
A great man doesn't seek to lead he is called to it and he answers
very well defined description of the concept
I trade time for money. It's a transaction. If the ship sinks, I find another ship. I give zero F's. I have a profession in high demand, and often meet "leaders" who couldn't lead their way out of a paper bag with the lights on.
Just because you are able to rent a studio apartment, it doesn't mean you're a Sigma male.. Okay?
im a Sigma .. Never knew until now.. You always hear Alpha .. and i knew i was never that .. i like myself ..
Thirty four years as a manager and I realize that I am a sigma male. It is a natural behaviour and attitude, but I respect orher styles of management.
I don't think Sigma males like to manage.
To be a true leader you must be willing to send someone to their demise! I will never ask anyone to do something I'm not willing to do myself. The best leaders are always the ones who do not want the responsibility! But are forced to become the leader because of the incompetence of others!
Just what is leadership . No one can solve every problem .
No but you can fix the spelling in your comment.
@ Thanks !

Thanks for the personal touch .
Autonomy is key to realizing success.
WE lead from the back and do so incognito style. WE let the "Others" have an ego ❌strokin contest. SHiiiiiEt, figuratuvely and literally .
Exactly!
yes we are better as influencers than most leaders find. Leaders appreciate our input quite often.
I completely agree and it made me thrive.
INFJ-T Sigma here. Very accurate
I outsmarted managers to the point that they shot themselves in the foot. The other supervisors raised the red flags and called them out.
Pretty accurate IMO.
I'll lead only where essential; only for the common good.
I'm happiest empowering others from the wings provided it gets a great result for all and me by proxy.
How do you get these descriptions so right?
Humility is his guiding light and greatest strength
"Through God, everything is possible."
When sigma male learn stoicism and leads through example. He is so unstoppable
Treat everyone the same nicely. Control your emotions process information so you can consult and act accordingly
We don't choose to lead under the leadership procedure, but we do outside the box, where no one can see what coming.
Tldr: They know themselves, are grounded, and treat people based on their actions. In other words, being independent, mature, and responsible.
Yes leading is what's up
I'm actually impressed people noticed us at all. Just know all sigma males carry a heavy burden. We can not be allowed a single mistake, but we're not burdened by spilled milk.
I just don't like the stress that comes with authority. I also don't like working harder than I have to.
I do agree with these traits.
Leading by example is the only Leadership STYLE I recognize. As a Sigma, I haven't found a group, besides my family, worthy of being led by myself.
I prefer the position of being an advisor or right hand of the throne. It took a while but I finally found an employer who knows how to use me in this fashion.
this applies to sigma females as well. Im sigma female and I can relate.
This is so me. 💯💯💯
Exactly right.
Sigma's are troubleshooters.
They're more like co-pilots.
But all in all, they're their own boss.
They can be good at training leaders.
💡In this society, leadership usually entails ego as well as unnecessary blind following of individuals who are ready to undermine the one in the leadership position 24/7. Don't have the time for it‼️
100% agreed
Anyone can think for themselves. Not everyone will.
There’s a reason why we are the lone wolf, we are meant to observe
, protect and defend life.
Its NOT refusal. If its necessary, we will lead but if someone else competently does it, then let them.
Almost agreed with you bro..
Lead by example.
Demonstrate, do not explicate.
Actions, speak louder than words.
Because. I only lead myself. And I only follow myself. You should too.
From the 2000 movie Gladiator and is spoken by Russell Crowe's character, Maximus:
*Marcus Aurelius:* "Won't you accept this great honor that I have offered you?"
*Maximus:* "With all my heart, no."
That's me bro
Great video ❤
Exactly!!!
If you want to stay a leader you have to give people what they want, even if you disagree.
Sigmas are the defacto leaders of a group. They are the ones which take the initiative and get others involved, and get satisfaction from it.
Yes I do
Amazing this makes sense
The INTJ personality type is often associated with the characteristics of successful Six Sigma Black Belts.
The INTJ personality type is characterized by:
*Independence:* INTJs thrive in environments that give them creative freedom and autonomy.
Yes we prefer to not be in leadership roles. However, in an emergency situation we will take charge.
It depends.
If you have to lead you need to. Whether you’re a “sigma” or whatever it’s called steppin up and manning up.
1 sec in the film. Take your own responsibility! And that is that they don't want to lead...
Being the boss sucks it's hard enough to keep up with what I'm doing I can perform I can teach but I'm a lousy babysitter
