Definitely found some new tips I didn't know about before, holding spacebar to drag around elements in a frame is super useful because I always feel frustrated when they leave the frame and I have to rearrange them inside again lol
Finally I know how to properly resize the SVG icons. What I usually did is change the stroke size based on how much I scale it, a lot of weird maths happening. 😂
4:28 Difference between Flatten and Outline Path options demoed, is that flatten combines everything into one layer while outline does not. Otherwise they both do the same thing. They convert higher level objects down to vector paths. Like editable text no longer is editable instead it becomes a vector path of what the text looked like when it was converted.
Great content! Thank you so much. I just freshly got certified in ux design but some of this stuff was still missing and now im scrambling youtube for knowledge on how to make my work stand out. If I could make a recommendation, I'd suggest labeling the sections of the video by what tip you're showing vs a TIP # so folk can go back and forth through the video to find certain steps
This was just what I was looking for! Really helps make the design process much faster. Finding these minute practical tips is really hard ! This video really summed them up for me :)
Thanks once again (this ain’t a bot, this girl just keeps killing it). Also last time you had 919 subs, I can’t believe you already hit 1k SO PROUD!! 👏👏😭😭
hello @@rachelhow , Yeh please 🙏 I would like to see more shortcuts so as to work faster and more efficiently or some UI/UX rules that anyone should obey.
Hey, Rachel! Thanks for your insights - I love your videos! A quick question. What macbook model would you recommend for a beginner in ui ux design? What are the minimum requirements? I’m planning to buy one but not sure which one to choose. Thanks!
This is so great and super insightful! I’m actually in the process of redesigning my case studies for my current portfolio. I noticed your tabs on the left didn’t have any solutions, would you suggest adding solutions? Also where is a good place to add any prototypes? Thanks!!
Rachel thanx for this video! really helpful! I would eagerly want to see how you use Notion to save all your design courses-links, icons, fonts etc. Thanx in advance, hugs form junior designer in Ukraine:)
Hello Rachel! I'm a new subscriber of yours and trying to study UI/UX design with the help of your videos. I just wanted to ask how you've been doing the Tip #13? I can't seem to move the object without it coming out of frame. Is there any other method to do this? Thank you! :)
Amazing video Rachael, I just subscribed to your channel hoping to see more helpful contents. Please I would love to see how you start and finish a project using design briefs
Hi Rachel! I just discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying your content! Thank you! I wanted to ask what the difference between reset all overrides vs reset instance is? Actually I'm not sure why but I don't see an option for "reset instance" in my desktop Figma on my Windows 10 laptop. Anyways, any help would be great, thanks! :)
Hi Rachel, thankyou so much for these amazing tips. I have been trying to do the spacebar tip you mentioned, to keep the elements inside of the frame, its just not working for some reason, as soon as i hit spacebar, the element freezes and i cannot move it. Is there something i am doing wrong? Thankyou :)

Hey have you did any UI UX design course before getting into it?
Hey Sahil, thanks for watching! No, I did not take any course :)
@@rachelhow so how did you got your first job in UI UX design? Have you did an internship or directly got the job.
Dear Rachel, How did you put plugins in your search engines? when i press CMD + P and i search iconify, it says "no matches" is it downloadable ?
Hey Kevin, yes - you need to download the plugin on Figma first. My bad for not making it clearer in the video!
I don't know why, many shortcut which you showed - that doesn't work on my pc. Are you using figma web or figma software version?
Sorry to hear that 😭 I'm using the Figma desktop app for Mac.
How do you select multiple elements on the artboard?
On Figma, select multiple items while holding 'Shift' key. Hope it helps, Rashman!
You are using Adobe xd ?!
You can explain it please ♥️
Hey Ahmed, thanks for watching :) I used to use adobe xd (2 years ago), but found Figma to be a better experience for me.
@@rachelhow no problem ❤️
make a video of Figma useful plugins.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've noted down the idea ;)
What button is called ''option''
On Mac, it’s the ‘option’ key. On windows, it’s the ‘Alt’ key. :)
ctrl + Y is not working
I am really enjoyed this video, it will be very nice if you can slow down your speech, too fast :)
Thanks for the tip! Actually you can adjust the playback speed in RUclips video settings :) It's at the bottom right corner of the video!
@@rachelhow Thank you so much dear, I am amazed with your talent as UX designer
You forgot the very first tip, get a decent PC. At least 16GB of Ram and a decently fast processor. 😅
I agree with you on this, whether you're on PC or Mac, get one with at least 16gb of RAM. I'm using 32gb RAM.
@@rachelhow same but im on a custom build with win 11
