He survived Munich. He saw close friends die at Munich. He brought Manchester United back to the top after Munich. Then, he won European Cup for United. He won the World Cup for England, too. Dignified, respected, legendary. He’s England’s finest. RIP Sir Bobby Charlton.
Sir Bobby was everything Manchester United should be. Heroic, courageous, swashbuckling, dedicated, magical. He was all that was good and wonderful about our club. The current owners neither care about or understand any of this, or what it means to so many. That is why we have to get it back, For Sir Bobby, for Sir Matt, for Jimmy Murphy, for Big Duncan and all the Babes. And for everyone else who dearly loves this club.
It's always the owners to blame. What about the players? As a Man Utd fan, it makes me laugh to see the fanbase laud players like Marcus Rashford who aren't fit to start for Man Utd.
Couldn't hold back the tears when the bag pipes started playing. A massive loss to football, to Manchester United. Great to see respect and love from the proper football fans from all clubs. Hoping to be there on Sunday, that'll be an emotional one. RIP legend 🇾🇪
Being at the match last night and sitting by the copenhagen fans, I must say credit to the copenhagen fans. They were impeccable during the tribute and showed absolute respect. Fair play. Real fans
A nice and simple tribute, and well done to the piper and his pipes that matched the club's colors. To be fair, this man just lit the game up every time he stepped on the field. His energy, enthusiasm, and skills were outstanding. Just getting a new TV set, black and white, or color, must have been an exciting time in the sixties, and then to see Bobby excite everybody the length and breadth of Britain on your average Saturday afternoon must have been priceless. Because of this, I didn't begrudge United a victory tonight, so well done. Farewell to a legend, from a Liverpool fan.
Great comment. Lovers of football appreciate the skill but also the manner. Liverpool have their shate of legends who as men are worthy of respect before even considering the skills at football. My favourite for Liverpool was Emlyn Hughes. Great player. Even greater human being. Man United fan.
From surviving the Munich Air Disaster, returning back full-time to football, then winning the World Cup in 1966, and then winning the 1968 European Cup with Manchester United. Sir Bobby Charlton was an absolute legend on the pitch and an even greater person off the pitch. Scored two goals in the 1966 World Cup semi-final, man marked Beckenbauer out of the 1966 World Cup final, then scored two goals in the 1968 European Cup final, and was a Ballon D'Or winner. Rest in peace, Sir Bobby.
put simply. Bobby Charlton was Manchester United. our greatest player and a warrior to play on after so many of his best mates died at Munich was remarkable. to be as good as he was made it even more special. i may be far too young to have watched him play but ive heard stories from my dad and grandad about how good he was. but for all he achieved on the pitch he was a gentleman more than anything. Rest In Peace Sir Bobby there will never be another like him.
Sir Bobby Charlton , greats are born not made ,...from a boy with the Busby babes,...to the maturing swashbuckling general in midfield for club and Country,.....he was a giant , who stood tall, and shone , with a calming presence, and an eye for goal , with feet packed with a thunderbolt power....he was special.....Very Special....he was our Bobby......Rip Legend
Sir Bobby was not only a legend for my club but he was a national treasure to the people of England. He was one of the last of the golden generation of English footballers with only one left from the 66 World Cup team. Rest in peace to the great Sir Bobby Charlton 🏴❤️🙏🏼
What a massive loss and a massive hole in the football family rip sir Bobby truly a legend and a hero for so many people he will be sorely missed by everyone 😢😢
Bobby Charlton was a living emblem of decency, courage and humility. He was a direct link to what made Manchester United such a great club. The heart of the club is not so healthy at present. Players, owners, certain fans and the board need to take resposibility for this. I do think the problem is morality and the work ethic and togetherness it brings. Bobby Charlton will for a long time to come echo values United have, or have lost. At present it is what has been lost.
RIP Sir Bobby Charlton Englands No.1 from MCFC supporter who lost Franny a few weeks ago to. They used to go for drinks together in Manchester in the early 1970s
Without been disrespectful can someone explain the piper playing oh Christmas tree oh Christmas tree what does that have anything to do with sir Bobby Charlton?
O Christmas Tree is a later take on the melody, the actual (original) tune is 'The Red Flag', Man Utd fans took the melody and have a chant of "Man United never die" which is a tribute to the Busby Babes

Rest in Peace Sir Bobby Charlton 🙏 ❤ 🕊
we're united and we'll never die ❤️
Sir Bobby Legend rest in peace
That was beautiful. Amongst a world of hate for 30 seconds we all became as one ❤
The 'hate' is mainly just a few hundred top freemasons playing their little mind game on the general public.
The world isnt full of hate. Thats just an idea in peoples minds. Change that about yourself
nope. @@christophhowland909
