- Matt Busby minute silence V Everton
( Well respected by Everton fans )
R.I.P Sir Matt
To ALL the clowns who are trying to leave abusive messages, don't bother, they won't appear, all other genuine football supporters, carry on and thanks :)
Unlike their neighbours and the Leeds Scum, Everton showed their true class that day. We may be rivals but you did what every decent human being should do and show respect for the passing of a great football man. I know we would show you the same respect. Thank you Everton !!!
Harsh, but funny all the same.
Everton are rivals? I'm a united fan and my dad's an Everton fan so I like them too
@@jf-0815 yes they are rivals we are Mancs and they are scouse we absolutely hate each other
Everton, top class fans. Best on merseyside
united and everton hates liverpool
Just watched 'Busby' there, found myself down a Sir Matt Busby rabbit hole since it finished am hour ago. I stay in Blantyre just 5 mins away from Bellshill where he was from. Fitting that Sir Alex picked up the mantle some years later. I wonder if there will be another great Scottish manager of United in the future.
R. I. P. Sir Matt
I was there, as an Evertonian. It was a very moving tribute to a great man. Thank you for all your kind words regarding the behaviour of the Evertonians.
Evertonians are class
Credit to your great club..
Can only thank Everton fans for the respect shown on that day. Class ...and I will always remember that.
@@ksportz66 Agree unlike their neighbours who are pure scum.
And a Massive respect To Everton FC and their Fans.
Although they're scousers , Utd and Evertonians have a less intense rivalry and no historical baggage between them.
The mob next door to us will always be our biggest rivals but United are always regarded by us Evertonians as the 'old enemy' being it's Scouse v Manc, a proper regional rivalry.
The only people who consider Everton Supporters a threat are their wives.
Prodigy_Fan I never really see Everton as a rivalry. Especially since you sold wazza to us. Hard to hate Everton. Maybe hold a grudge over your old boss destroying our club’s foundations and signing fellaini though.
@@ass640 In the 20th century it was a rivalry. Everton were still a huge club when this took place. Hard to believe now but Everton had more titles than United at the time.
Sir matt Busby was a quality manager i will never forget him and I am a west ham fan and thanks to every Manchester United and everton fan for their amazing respect to a quality manager like sir matt Busby
A legend. The club will never forget this man. RIP Busby Babes.
Thanks for the nice comments from the United lads and lasses on here. I wasn't at this game but I'm a long term Everton season ticket holder and remember plenty of letters to EFC fanzines and the official programme thanking the Blues present at OT that day. Ironicly, United were our first opponents after the deaths of Alan Ball, Howard Kendall and former Chairman Philip Carter and your fans at Goodison on all three occasions themselves behaved impeccably during our tributes to our club legends.
United better do that for Sir Alex Ferguson when his time comes, which I hope isn't soon
I dont even want to think about that day 😟
Plzz don't say that😭😭
Don't mention it!
I will never forget the best performance of that day,in a dour match which was impossible for both sides-
It was the Everton away end. Not even a shouting drunk, thank you Everton F.C. Respect.
Silence like that is very powerful. Well done the fans.
Thank you Everton fans - respect!
RIP You Manchester United Legend....thank you. Great respect from Everton fans here.
That minutes silence was very well observed! Pure class.
How young do those familiar faces in the United team look here!?
Keano, Giggsy, Big Pete, Pallister, Ince etc all looking super youthful!
simply the best
Mark Hughes is from north wales you twat
everton,,you should be proud of your fans, that was an amazing display of respect,,thankyou.
Mufc will never die!!! #flowersofmanchester
I was there that day and we played superb. It was only 1-0- but it could have been 10. A proper send off and fair play to the scousers.
My club would be nothing without Sir Matt. He and his babes built an empire.
Gold Bless. And Rest in peace ❤️
Total respect for all the Everton fans there that day. I was there, expected a totally different outcome, inside and on the forecourt. Glad we were playing a football team with history, not a bunch of " look at what we once won, wankers" from north wales. Well done you Blues.
Still feel the goose bumps even 19 years later watching this. Sir Matt Busby the legend. R.I.P
It's been sooooo long since I saw this!! Great upload! God bless Sir Matt. And everton fans should be proud of each other. That was a fantastic display of respect for an icon of the football world. Then again I'd expect nothing less from the Real team in Liverpool. :-)
Great upload thank you and MAX RESPECT to the Everton fans deadly rivals but very respectful nice touch I don't think your neighbours would have upheld that 1 minute silence
Matt was a great man he deserves respect
Really nice to see this display of respect. This should be the way.
FORM ITALY I,M ULTRAS INTER RIP SIR MATT BUSBY GRETA MAN GREAT MANAGER WIIL VE MISS YOU AT ALL FANS OF FOOTBALL
Well played to Everton that day.
I'm a Liverpool supporter but at sad times like in 1994 when the great sir Matt Busby passed away rivalries should be put to one side Manchester united and Everton supporters did show respect to sir Matt Busby and can I say to all football supporters please stop mocking other clubs supporters over disaster's that have happened like Munich Hillsborough Bradford city Ibrox heysel etc etc we are the football family show the passion for your club but show respect to other clubs
Atleast your not one of the scousers who say "they deserved to die" and shit like that, respect you
Everton fans did their club proud
brings tears to my eyes
Everton fans were amazing that day
A legend, everton fan says this.
An impeccable minutes silence and full respect to all the Everton fans that were present. MUFC Salford
Wow I remember this. Must have been hard for Man Utd that day bless them. I think we were not doing very well around that time. Hearing the Man Utd fans saying After, that they couldn't believe how much Everton respected them that day, I was reminded especially why I supported Everton football club and always will.
matt busby did the impossible then came back to make man utd what there are now simpley the best club in the world respect from a middlesbrough fc fan
immaculate observation of silence.
moving tribute. Wonderfully observed by all in the stadium
Legend upmost respect
One of the all time great managers, even though I dislike Manchester United I have nothing but respect for Sir Matt and what he achieved particularly considering he did it with grace and respect, such a shame that Leeds had to disgrace themselves away at Blackburn.
great tribute.hats off to everton fans there for the respect.emotional moment in mufc history
Fair play to Everton fans on that day....they fully respected the occasion. Utd fans haven't forgotten that. Everton fans brought respect to their club. They seem to have a dignity that Liverpool fans don't, even though they're from the same city mostly. Imagine the reaction from Liverpool fans on this day???
liverpool fans always mocked and sang about the Munich Air Disaster but 99% stopped after 1989. since it was only 5 years after Hillsbrough they would have respected this minute silence
To be fair, I think Liverpool fans, although I'm not too keen on many of them, probably would have behaved themselves in a similar way had they been your opponents on that day. Sir Matt was a former Liverpool player and captain and I think they would have known and remember that. I think it's the vile bastards of Leeds you maybe thankful United wasn't playing that weekend.
ledjarde as a united fan I think it would have probably been very similar
Being a die hard and lifelong Leeds fan i have to agree with your last comment. It was a relief to me that we weren't playing Man U that day. The nutters among our fans would have had a field day. I'd be a liar if i said i liked Man U and in the late 60's and throughout the 70's ie my younger days, i hated them with a passion but nevertheless i was embarrassed at our fans display of disrespect at Ewood Park that day.
ledjarde Liverpool fans would not of been respectful. When George Best died and BPL Teams had a minute silence for George Best Man City & Liverpool fans were not quiet during the minute.
Great memorial video, am a Birmingham fan. Can't help but think, Edwin Van der Sar in the black jacket at 4.22?
Thank you Mike. KRO.
Fun fact: Matt Busby played for two of Manchester United's rivals
Man City and Liverpool
A sad moment for the British Football, my respects for Sir Matt Busby.
Liverpool fan here i hold great respect for Sir Matt Busby
One loan Everton Evertonian shouted out and was met with a singular voice shouting "show some fucking respect you scouse bastard". He was one. Everton and their fans conducted themselves impeccably that day. Always been respect between the two clubs.
A GREAT MAN MUCH RESPECT FROM A MAN CITY SUPPORTER
Thank you Kevin. RIP Colin Bell, a top class player!
Two of the greatest clubs in football here showing great respect to the Godfather of British football. Beautiful.
Sir Alex survived the sacked in 1989 because of Sir Matt and Sir Bobby... the other board member and Martin Edwards have lost their patience towards Sir Alex at that time, but they were prevented from making that stupid decision by those 2 legends... but the club told us they never even thought about sacking Sir Alex during the vote of confidence meeting about Sir Alex
I remember watching this live. An eternal respect for Everton followed. From that moment I always saw Evertonians as Liverpudlians and Liverpool fans as scousers.
He is a legend indeed,he deserves all respect!
At least there are some good fans in Merseyside
Theres no way LIverpool fans would have disrespected thia occasion. he was a footballing legend for them in the pre war years and practically a big brother like figure for their own footballing god father - Shanks. the pictures of busby and paisley parading around wembley in the 1983 league cup final, hands firmly clenched up high tells a lot. As a united fan I know the scousers have a tremendous history just like us and sir matt was part of both
What a gentleman was sir Matt Busby was 💜💜💜💜
RIP Sir Matt :(
A true ledgend
When Sir Matt took charge of United after the war they had gone nearly 40 years of nothing, bouncing from league to league. Straight away he transformed them to the most powerful team in the country winning 5 titles and RU 8 times, he introduced fantastic youth, 5 in a row FA youth cup winners, he pioneered European football and were regular semi finalists until coming from his death bed to deliver the holy grail in 68. He is the foundation of which all else is built upon. HE IS OUR FATHER. GGMU
I have nothing but respect for the
Man!
Football played by Matt Busby
He was a great manager and survived the Munich air crash and was dear to Man U, as Don Revie was to Leeds.Don never got the recognition he deserved. He was on a par with Busby as a great manager RIP to both.😥
Everton and United regularly sell players to each other, the best known example being Wayne Rooney, but don't forget Tim Howard, Phil Neville, etc. They do have a common enemy, namely Liverpool FC, and remember what Fergie once said: "We don't business with Liverpool"!
Translation: Everton is our elephants graveyard we throw all our old shit in when we don't want it anymore.
Paul once?
Once even
Ince
You built the club and we love you always GGMU
Still touches me even now watching this
It's gunna be the same when fergie goes - but hopefully that will be many years from now!
respect to evertonians
At least he got to see united win the league again
The worlds greatest manager.
great man indeed much respect
How football has changed
The Everton away end was full of utd fans that day. Fact. The touts only had tickets for that end on sale that day outside the ground. My mate bought 4 of them.
I was there, in the Everton end..that's bollocks mate.
Great Vid Mate!
Such a great moment thanks to the Everton fans
Your right Mark, it's what every decent human being should do !
Without a shadow of any doubt
This was the best United side of all time, a team of men, I would follow this side to the moon and back..
Class from Everton.Wouldn't see that from the dippers. !!
unreal footage, wouldnt get that kind of reception now,,health and safety would ban the bagpipes, only the minutes applause these days, which is still respectful, but not in unique way united played that, fitting for a unique man R.I.P
Sir Matt busby the best man utd manager
I was only 20 at the time, but I remember the day he died. I was Man Utd daft, not so much now, the game has gone a bit pear shaped if you ask me, I can't watch any of the matches either, so I don't really feel part of it. I'm glad he got to see them win the league in 1993 though. It took 26 years for them to get back on top. I started to follow them in 1983-84. I don't agree with sacking managers over the radio on the day they win trophies either. That was another reason I stopped watching football. Can you imagine having to go back and rebuild a team like that, under those circumstances, the guilt, the torment and pain. And then for those sick Liverpool supporters to sing those idiotic chants. They should be banned for ever attending a match. Disgusting. If you don't know what it is I'm talking about, I'm sorry, I can't even bring myself to mention it, it so bad.
t dc
Class Everton fans 👏🏻 🔴💪🏻🔵
Thank you to the second best coach of all time
Rip Sir Matt #GGMU
yes
Age grips everyone by the balls eventually..R.I P Matt..
RIP
If you cannot keep quite and respect a minutes silence for anyone then you ain’t a human being
everton fans > liverpool fans
You could ask for no better fans than Evertonians to be in the away end when honouring one of your own.
Think it was 1 - 0 to United
what was the score?
hellonpluto one nil, Ryan Giggs.
Beautifully observed minutes silence, you just know that today you’d have a bunch of arseholes in the crowd making noise, standards have really slipped since 1994, I’m not even a Man Utd fan
RIP MANCHESTER FLOWERS
Everton fans have always been good fans
Respect ....YNWA
Viva Ronaldo - Sir Matt
One of liverpool great captain ynwa busby hehe
I was at that game and regardless of any previous, as a United fan, the respect shown by Everton and their fans was simply wonderful and I'll never forget that.
yes
