    XCOM® 2: War of the Chosen, is the expansion to the 2016 award-winning strategy game of the year.
    XCOM® 2: War of the Chosen adds extensive new content in the fight against ADVENT when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. This expansion includes new Hero classes to counter the “Chosen”, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.
    NEW FACTIONS & HERO CLASSES
    Three additional factions have emerged to strengthen Earth's resistance - the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars - each with its own unique abilities and contrasting philosophies. These factions provide powerful hero class soldiers to aid in missions and new opportunities for the strategy layer.
    THE CHOSEN
    The Chosen are the most cunning enemies XCOM has ever faced, each with unique strengths and weaknesses that will be introduced with each new campaign. The Chosen are on the hunt for the Commander and will kidnap, interrogate, and kill XCOM’s soldiers to complete their objective. The Chosen can also invade the strategy layer and ravage XCOM’s global operations. Find and raid the Chosen’s strongholds to defeat the enemy for good.
    NEW ALIEN & ADVENT THREATS
    A deadly new alien known as the Spectre, capable of creating dark copies of XCOM soldiers, has snuck onto the battlefield. Adopt new tactics to counter it as well as the explosive attacks of the ADVENT Purifier and the psionically charged ADVENT Priest.
    NEW ENVIRONMENTS AND MISSION OBJECTIVES
    Engage in tactical missions across new environments from abandoned cities devastated by alien bioweapons during the original invasion, to underground tunnels and xenoformed wilderness regions.
    ENHANCED STRATEGY LAYER
    Manage XCOM’s relations with factions and counter The Chosen’s operations from the Avenger. Employ new Resistance Orders to prioritize your personal strategy. Soldiers, scientists, and engineers can now be deployed for Covert Actions that award supplies and boost faction favor if successfully completed.
    GREATER CUSTOMIZATION & REPLAYABILITY
    Soldiers can develop bonds with compatible teammates for new abilities and perks. The SITREP system dynamically adds new modifiers to the tactical layer to make sure every mission provides a unique challenge. Advanced campaign options allow for finer adjustments to game length and difficulty.
    CHALLENGE MODE
    Utilize the perfect strategy in new regular one-shot community challenges to claim the top spot on the global leaderboard.
    SHARE THE RESISTANCE
    Customize and pose your soldiers, then add filters, text and backgrounds to generate your own unique resistance posters that appear in-game and can be shared with friends.
    XCOM 2: The Story So far - Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet's last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
    Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

    The cool thing about the Arashi rifle is that it has a longer range than other shotguns which makes it aim better in medium range situations. It can actually hit sometimes while in overwatch!

      It is indeed an upgrade, I just find it underwhelming compared to how huge an improvement the Hunter's rifle or the katana are.

    That last one was a Fanatic Crusader, a priest variant added by a mod (others being Inquisitor and Bishop). Not all of them actually have Stasis, I believe only the Bishops do. Crusaders might actually explode on death, so you gotta be careful when killing them!

    It's always nice to have choice at end of mission whether to run or attack. You could say that this was the benefit derived from the successful attack on all the stacked up pods at mission start. Good vid

      @@TapCat I mean, either way, it does increase the chance as you're essetially "rolling" twice for it, so even if it's unlikely you'll get 2 guys on 1 mission you might still have a better chance at getting 1 guy. Either way, it's close to the end of the campaign so it's not that useful, but hey, can't complain either.And if it ever happens that'll be cool.
      I assume that can't occur on the final mission, can it? That'd be epic, even if it's ulikely...

    *Five aliens clustered while our soliders are in concealment"
    Cheng: "I have a clear shot but theres so many-"
    Wei: "-Stand back, I'm gonna light this candle" 😃
    *Wei blows up and shreds the five aliens*
    Cheng: "How do you know that is the best option?"
    Wei: "Oh I don't"
    Cheng: "Then why did you just do it?"
    Wei: "Never in my life has the answer been to not blow up a bunch of aliens" 😁
    Cheng: "I wish I shared your blind optimism"
    One of the best value grenade in the entire series for sure 👍 not having to worry about the Chosen also makes a difference

    Not gonna lie, on that last pod I'd have just ran away, but hey, it's XP, can't fault you for that. And, anyway, you got it. That's what matters. But, man if they had ignored the beacon or some other bullshit like that you know that would sour the taste of the whole mission...

    I'm at 7 turns missing and the cell and tthe escape at both at sight, no more than 2 turns away. 9 enemies killed out of 12, only 1 Pod of 3 left. Damn well played sir. It's not over, some bullcrap can still happen, but I just wanted to say: Triggering the 5 man pod was the right call imo, especially with that grenade. The hack was in my mind during all the fight of the second pod and I was afraid you wouldn't remember it but you did and it saved that round.
    Yeah, one guy got wounded but an andromedon prime will do that to you, and it could have been so much worse...
    In general the whole mission so far was *Chef's kiss*.

      @TapCat  3 месяца назад +2

      Thank you, I was prettyy happy with how those encounters played out. Don't know if I could have found a way to avoid the damage from the prime but as I mentioned in the video I was mostly just relieved that it was the lowest ranking soldier who took any damage. Our issue is always finding enough captains and higher to bring on missions and keeping all of them healthy was fantastic as was getting 2 of them promoted to major.

    • @sortehuse
      @sortehuse 3 месяца назад +1

      Getting enough intel can be hard, but it get easier next time you play because you will know that you have to prioritise getting it. Building radio towers can also help a lot.

    • @TapCat
      @TapCat  3 месяца назад +3

      It sucks to lose a campaign, but as sortehuse points out there's a good opportunity to learn from it. This campaign is a bit different because I'm only controlling the scanning half the time, but I'm generally pretty relentless about limiting my scanning for intel, building radio towers, and making contact. I try to limit my time on the various other scanning missions to things that are really critical for us to get... otherwise, I just stick to my main goal of expanding on the map.

    Gotta admit that was a grenadier's dream come true, that said the andromedon prime is a really nasty one i'll go as far as to say i believe he's worse than the gatekeeper prime. Now that i think about it as the time for the last mission is coming closer and closer i can't help but wonder how are you planning on playing it? One does the Advent tower while the other does the other mission? Division of the very last one between the two of you or rather each one plays their own ending?

    • @TapCat
      @TapCat  3 месяца назад +2

      The breakdown will be Syken on the radio tower, I play the 1st half of the finale, and then he'll clear the final room. One thing that was important to me from the time we decided that I'd play the first mission, was that he should play the last part because those are the two biggest moments of the campaign and it's only right to share them equally.
