Got a pair, learned to ride them parallel in under a minute. I then came here to see if they can be ridden sideways - yay, it looks like they're even cooler this way. I'm yet to try it myself, maybe they're good as a stepping stone to freeskates? (I haven't managed to learn to ride my freeskates yet)
Maybe I'm old, but electrifying every little thing that works just fine human powered like bicycles, skateboards, freeskates, foilboards is a consumerist trend that makes people lazy and creates products that don't last as batteries crap out and the idea is that they are outdated in 3 years anyways. Let people use more of their muscles and brains while riding - at least when they are healthy enough when it comes to their body moving. They way we're going right now people will gladly give up walking the moment we have a gadget for it ;)
@cklister , but those Gyros can help you to climb on a hill when you're on a freeskates. E.g. you with a friend are cruising around and get tired. Just get a pair of Gyros from your backpack: one for you and another for a friend and use as a motor for one leg.

We didn’t test them in this way, but Gyroor says they can cruise up to 10km or about 6 miles!

Freelineskates with 4 electric motors one on each wheel is the future but you can't have battery on the skates .
The electric part actually takes away from what freeskates can do. Aside from zero effort travel, not the best idea
