With the original Bronco, Ford wanted it to be the offroad Mustang... and after 30 years of absence we can now finally say that the offroad Mustang is back!
Ford should have either called the sport the Bronco II or given it it’s own equine name like Colt. I do wish you’d mentioned the production and delivery problems. That’s an important footnote for Broncos.
Fully agree. I can damn near guarantee that they didn't use bronco ii again because the public would see the "2" part as a lesser than. Total missed opportunity though
This is s brilliant look at how Ford did it right, so many other car companies could have learned something from them. Unreal how these car companies miss the mark and ignore what their fans want.
Ford has done it repeatedly.... The Mustang 2, the Bronco 2..... The Probe, was originally going to be called Mustang.... They cancelled the Taurus in 2003 and replaced it with the "500" in 2005..... Toyota decided they needed to stockpile a six to twelve month supply Incase of another disaster...like a world wide pandemic. What did Ford do? In 2019 on the eve of dropping the new Bronco they cancelled massive orders if chips because they thought there might be a recession in the early 2020s! Big mistake. Big.
@@altongehringer9858 funny you mention Toyota. They invented just in time manufacturing, which is why there’s a shortage of everything, not just chips. The reason Chevy didn't make a K5 Blazer is because they never stopped making it. They just changed the name from Blazer to Tahoe in 1995, then discontinued the two door in 99. The 1st generation Mustang and Bronco are effectively timeless in design. Ford learned this with the popularity of the S197 Mustang, and I’m so glad they continued the trend with the Bronco.
I work at a ford dealer and they got two new full size bronco, but couldn't sell them for 6 months. Some dude bought one with a 40k markup. Also, The 2000s thunderturd failed because it was all jaguar underneath as well. A nightmare for ford service departments and techs alike
I dunno how to feel about Ford, all I've been told is that 'Ford' stands for "F.ix O.r R.epair D.aily" or "F.ind O.n R.oad D.ead" I'd love to drive a Bronco tho
Ford is absolutely screwing over reservation holders with their allocation process. This whole vehicle release has been a joke. 500+ day reservation holder & I keep seeing people who reserved a few months back getting theirs already. Screw me for finding a small dealer that wouldn't surprise me with an ADM. Reservation time stamp doesn't mean jack. Based on my dealers current allocations, it's looking like I've got 2 more years of waiting left. Build in order of reservation timestamp Ford, not allocation.
At this point of time Bonco is literally one of the two offroaders on the market that I would ever buy (probably not, coz I am more of midsize sedan guy).
For every vehicle Ford gets right, they have to have at least a few dumpster fires..... I mean, just look at 2005/2006..... We had the absolute abominations that were the 500 and Freestyle that ultimately, nobody wanted and the exceptional Fusion that was selling like crazy.

As an American, I've always been jealous of the Cosworth. I've never even seen one IRL
I agree. But sadly, the revived Escort is exclusive to China... as an economy sedan.
Ford added so many really smart features. Even something simple like mounting the mirrors on the body so the doors can come off no prob.
This is the only one I can think of where when u look at it u can see how it evolved from the original Branco to the one now and the overall shape is the same and glad they did it like that I can see why they have such a big fallowing now alot of other companies can only think of the future so the overall look normally doesn’t even remotely match
It’s still amazing to me that the same company that did a new Bronco right, managed to “eclipse” the Mach e and maverick
The new maverick is sick it’s probably the best car under 30k
@@jeffreywhite7412 it’s nothing like the old maverick. It’s a Fwd crossover pickup
It’s not a bad vehicle. It’s just using these established names that don’t match the new vehicles
@@jeffreywhite7412 Ford could have used any number of names instead of Maverick for their compact pickup....as for being "the best car under $30K".....if we're looking at cars, the Camry easily has it beat. If we're looking at Compact pickups, which is what the Maverick is, only Hyundai even has a competing model. However, the plastic trim in the Maverick feels cheap and the interior looks like it was designed by a toy company. (Yes, I have first hand experience with these vehicles)
@@enfynet The Maverick is not a cross-over.... It's actually based off the Bronco Sport....which uses a Compact SUV platform.
@@aaronthomas6155 apologies. The FWD platform for vehicles like that, including the bronco sport, feels like another crossover.
Again my problem isn’t with the vehicle or tech used. It’s branding it with something completely unrelated for marketing purposes alone.
The new bronco is amazing, the designers really delivered on style and an understanding of what the market wants. Unfortunately the rollout has been a joke. The chip shortage and roof problems paired with unscrupulous dealers really sucks for anyone wanting to get their hands on one. If supply finally catches up to demand and you can get one for MSRP or under the Jeep will have a real competitor.
Even if you find a dealer that'll work with you at MSRP, you're still at the mercy of whether or not Ford is going to allocate many Broncos to them or not.
There's no way they could have avoided the supply chain issues though. But yes, it has been an absurd rollout.
''They'' got chips for cryptocoin mining cpu's which are been connected world wide for a 'General Artificial Intelligence' to be accepted by them as 'their' 'god'.

It's kinda hard on the dealers right now too though, they don't have the quantity of vehicles to sell, so they gotta make up for it somewhere.
My Thursday is complete now. Thank you.
Crazy thing here is, I always dreamed of the Bronco design in a car! I was tempted to get a Jeep, but never did just cause my gut told me to wait. I wasn’t disappointed when I saw the Bronco reveal. It was hard reserving one the first day, but was successful the next day. It was so worth it waiting for it!!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Dude this is why I love ford. I feel like they get things right when it comes to listening to what consumers want. This Bronco is awesome
Unlike mitsubishi
I had an 85 K5 and a 76 GMC Jimmy, I miss those vehicles! They were tough and looked nice! I broke them off roading so much I learned how to work on them!! Tymes were good in the 90's
Do an up to speed on Tatra finally. They have everything. 3rd oldest car manufacturer, being copied by Porsche, Dakar trucks, Mad Max trucks, starring in Kanye video, big aircooled V8s, killing nazis. Like what more do you want?
That would be an amazing episode. Upvote this people.
Bump
Hell yes! Broncos BAYBEEEEE! God I want one of these.
I worked at the Michigan Truck Assembly plant ( now named Michigan Assembly) from 1994 til 2015, i seen the last Full Size Bronco ( ie The OJ) roll off the Assembly line in 1996, before we retooled for the all new expedition and navigator, im so glad that its been retooled back again for the New Bronco and it is a good looking vehicle, glad Ford Motor Co. invested back into a classic namesake and gave it the nostalgic look, they really did a good job.
I bought the Bronco Sport back in August 2021 as a daily driver. It gets about 28 mpg and is functional enough to make it down trails here in Texas. Let's be real the majority of people don't go off-roading everyday and generally take their off-roading vehicle (Bronco, Jeep, F-350 dually king ranch) to their job at say T-mobile (no shade if you do, just making an example). So why do you think the big Bronco out sells the Sport? What do y'all think?
lol, i think you bought a rebadged escape and you're trying to justify the purchase....what you said about your sport can be said about a subaru.....they're fine and all for driving down dirt roads but lack the clearance and tech for actual trails and off road travel....a dirt road isn't a trail. lol

Didn't know that ford is going truck only, I think that's really interesting. I bet that cheap new maverick is helping with that strategy. Bronco looks sick!

Yes that would be dope!
Last week I saw at the grocery store parking lot the 2 door version with the orange paint just like the one you showed in the video! and I parked next to it and stared at the damn thing for like 20 min 😅😅 it looks beautiful I was drooling.
I detailed a new Bronco Badlands edition the other week, I was definitely impressed.
I was missing up to speed, this series hard carries Donut
The funny this is that almost all cars from the 90' have more groundclearens and better off-road capability then most crossovers
Take a 2021 Ford Explorer off road.....see how many pieces it comes back in. Even most "SUVs" don't have shit for ground clearance these days. Crossover was originally just a new term for Stationwagon.
Great video, but I think you're dead wrong about the revival of the Thunderbird. Those things still look totally unique & dope AF to me.
i love donut's ads. buff horses shirt ad is one of my favorites now
Crazy y’all made this video. Couple weeks ago, this would be just another solid Donut vid, I started main-ing the new Bronco as my Cross Country/ Dirt Race go-to in Horizon 5
I'm so glad that ford still make the fiesta st here in Europe and also being relatively afforable
It's only in the US that Ford thinks people don't buy sedans.....even though the Camry has actually been the single best selling vehicle in the US for several years. (Hint: Ford doesn't actually release sales figures for the F-150 specifically. They release sales figures for the "F-Series" which includes the F-150, F-250, F-350 and possibly F-450)
You guys keep me coming back with good content! Another great video!
The Thunderbird looks like an Aston Martin and Porsche combined 😂
That's because the lead designer of Ford and the designer of Aston Martin are brothers
The new Bronco is an example to any company that wants to revive an old badge. It looks so freaking awesome!
looks like a dumb jeep wrangler copy. they could have just made an updated version of the old bronco instead of copying something that has already available for years
@@BH-gh6qm I'm not sure we are talking about the same vehicle...

Bronco city edition or something
Fully agree. I can damn near guarantee that they didn't use bronco ii again because the public would see the "2" part as a lesser than. Total missed opportunity though
The Colt name is owned by Chrysler. Calling the Bronco Sport the Bronco II could have been a good idea if done properly.
Production issues were caused by this little thing called a global pandemic. Hardly Ford's fault.
i think they want people to not remember the bronco ii
This is s brilliant look at how Ford did it right, so many other car companies could have learned something from them. Unreal how these car companies miss the mark and ignore what their fans want.
Ford has done it repeatedly.... The Mustang 2, the Bronco 2..... The Probe, was originally going to be called Mustang.... They cancelled the Taurus in 2003 and replaced it with the "500" in 2005..... (nothing like bringing back a universally hated nameplate....) only to bring back the Taurus badge in 2008 in an attempt to save sales.
I've had my BaseSquatch Bronco for about 3 months now. I regret absolutely nothing about my purchase. It's so freaking good.
Up to speed is one of my favorite shows and a strength of donut, speaking of which let’s get an up to speed on the Ih Scout and maybe international harvester themselves
Man have you seen their new raptor version?? That beast looks amazing.
When are you guys gonna do a B2B on Matt's Off Road recovery?
Honestly, I think the Blazer is the best LOOKING in its segment, and would've probably sold great if they didn't call it a "Blazer." It's a good crossover that was, at least initially, priced a little high, but not ridiculously so.
It’s true
That’s how some people look at the Mach e
@@enfynet as a dude that just bought a Mach-E (and loves it), I can honestly say they should've just called it a Mach-E. Mustangs are 2 door pony cars, and my Mach-E is a performance crossover... different beasts
@@QMaverick1 even worse is they brought back the Mach 1 for the same model year; so the Mach E would have made a LOT more sense in the car platform, with a different brand on the EV crossover altogether. Make something exciting and new, instead of hoping that the wrong name works.
@@enfynet yup, I agree. And this is coming from someone that loves the car. Performance is great, and I can still haul my kids around. Works great!
I loved my old basic Bronco. Bullet proof 300 engine, bull low standard trans 4X4. That truck could go anywhere. Bucket seats and a massive center console, big as a cooler. We drilled a hole in console and floor pan and filled it with ice and refreshments, and off we'd go camping and fishing! Oh the good ole days! 😁
You FCKED UP!! There’s another Bronco! The Raptor Bronco!!!!
Well yes, marketing nailed it. Production, however, is threatening to sink the ship. I'm a day one reservation holder and have yet to receive my Bronco.
I heard that they’re having quality issues as well
6:35 I'm one of the, like, seven people on the planet who actually liked the new thunderbird. I admit the engine is trash though, I would love to find one with a blown motor so I could coyote swap it.
I liked them too, I don't understand the hate
@@lrrowley Me neither, I think it was at least decent.
How was the engine trash? It's a 3.9ltr AJ-30 making 252hp or AJ-35 making 280hp. The 4.6ltr only made 285hp when it was cancelled.....
I love my Bronco. Covid did make it harder for production and availability, but the lack of chips can’t be blamed on Ford really
Si, los broncos muy bien.
Um...yes it can! Toyota and Ford both new about the possibility of chip shortage since the tsunami in 2011.
Toyota is the one that showed the whole world that stockpiling resources wasn’t making them any money in the short run. There’s shortage of Toyota vehicles as well, so it didn’t work for them too well.
@@altongehringer9858 ruclips.net/video/b1JlYZQG3lI/видео.html
This is a good video explaining it
@@VictorDeveze that's absolutely true and Ford copied almost every aspect of it...just not the chip part. Towards the end Toyota had to slow production for a couple of weeks but never had to park hundreds of thousands of trucks in rat infested lots. Don't get me started on the warrant problems those trucks are having.
The reason Chevy didn't make a K5 Blazer is because they never stopped making it. They just changed the name from Blazer to Tahoe in 1995, then discontinued the two door in 99.
Also, if ford doesn't step in soon and do something about dealer mark ups, they're hyped up Bronco will die exactly like the Focus RS did.
In fact, can we revisit this in 5 years and see how the Bronco's doing?
Actually, Ford can't do anything about the dealer markups..... There are actually laws preventing Ford from doing anything.
@@aaronthomas6155 somebody better tell Chevy that because they're threatening to redirect vehicles from dealers running up the prices on Corvettes.
The baby Bronco is actually a really good little off roader. No, it's not in the same class as it's bigger brother. But to call it just an escape is in no way fair. But you gotta get the four cylinder Badlands version.
Instead it helped them get back on top have you seen the stock price.
That’s more to do with the lightning. For some reason Wall Street loves electric cars.
Great job by ford with the Bronco. I'm hoping they'll introduce a pickup version to compete with the Jeep Gladiator.
Great job by the Ford DESIGNERS, Ford Corporate has dropped the ball on this release every step of the way.
no point considering they already have the F150 line and the Ranger line
Bro, the bronco is based off the ranger platform. So a truck version is the ranger.
@@freeski08 the Ranger is only going to come with a fixed roof and fixed doors. It would still be cool to see a ford pickup that implements the Bronco/Gladiator concept. Removable roof, removable doors. And maybe make a Raptor version while they're at it.

crossovers are nothing but stationwagons..... different term, same vehicle....
The 1st generation Mustang and Bronco are effectively timeless in design. Ford learned this with the popularity of the S197 Mustang, and I’m so glad they continued the trend with the Bronco.
