Here I give a brief talk about Tim Burton and how German Expressionism shaped his movies by comparing it to one of his works"Edward Scissorhands" to a classic German Expressive film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari."

As a huge Burton fan, I very much appreciated this video! Cool seeing the similarities and differences between both films!
Jacob Martin thanks man not everyone has made the comparisons.
wonderful video
Found this and I have to thank you, wonderful clips!
Melody Maker thank you very appreciated😊
I admire his work and how their can be beauty in darkness and the weird.
Would love to see Tim Burton do an adaptation of The Nutcracker. Characters in that classic Christmas have the familiar for a Tim Burton film.
Yes . I at this point I enjoy better his older work
Dang, I didn’t think I needed to know so much about Tim Burton, pretty cool!! And I’m excited to see how you make the videos!

Brian Brecker thank you 😊
I love Tim Burton and his film The Nightmare Before Christmas taught me so much about emotion and envy.
You were right about saying, "It's not about realism, it's about emotion."
The Nightmare Before Christmas was actually directed by Henry Selick, not Tim Burton!
@@eva.5385 I still love the German Expressionism though
@@eva.5385 Selick himself said, "It's as though he [Burton] laid the egg, and I sat on it and hatched it. He wasn't involved in a hands-on way, but his hand is in it. It was my job to make it look like 'a Tim Burton film', which is not so different from my own films."
Thank you and I'm glad. Burton shows a lot of scenes that bring out the emotion.
@@emilygrae Yeah, you're right
Does anyone know what the intro song of this video is? From 0 secs to 00:09 secs?
Pasito tun tun.
Yes, Johnny Depp is one hundred percent Tim Burton's actor. But I absolutely do not perceive him as Gellert Grindelwald. Grindelwald in his performance is worthless, just disgustingly clumsy.
who did you make this for? why do you talk the way you do? i mean, you talk german expressionism and tim burton and don't even mention his most germanist expressionist film Pee Wee's Big Adventure. wtf? you don't know anything.
😊😊☺️
