This is an INCREDIBLE cover. It's nice to see someone who finally covers a song without veering too far from the original. Not to mention his voice and accent add a tremendous originality to this cover.
I do really wish they'd have put in the final verse though. It concludes the story.

Musically and vocally it’s a good cover. It’s a shame that the story is missing. Two verses have been hacked out and also a small section that initially appears as a bridge and is slightly reworded to provide the end of the story.
I love how passenger has a strong bond with his RUclips acct. I mean, he himself took the time to write those long messages and that is quite sweet for us fans.. 😄

we have some really exciting news ……
some of you will know that over the last year we’ve been putting out our “sunday night videos” - basically covering a bunch of our favourite songs and recording and filming them in weird and wonderful locations all over the world .
a forest in finland , a roof of an old bunker in hamburg , a lighthouse in plymouth and a deserted town in california to name a few … (all videos are available on the passenger youtube ruclips.net/user/passengermusic if you want to check them out…)
for me its been a really cool way of keeping in touch with everyone and giving you all a little window in to where we were and what we were doing .
the response has been unbelievable and we’ve had quite a few requests to put them out “properly” so …
a few weeks ago we went in to the studio and re-recorded some of our favourites (along with a couple of new ones) and i’m delighted to say that they are now available to stream from this link -

Because everyone loves fast car and it's meaning is unique to each person. I love how you can see that when different people/groups cover it. I love how you can see that when it comes on and everyone goes into deep thought.
I love that she allows so many to cover her masterpiece. Every single cover is beautiful in its own way, because you cannot do that song without passion.

This song is absurdly beautiful! The version of Tracy Chapman is beautiful without defects !, but that of "Mike, (passenger)". It is the best version I have ever heard in my life! Mike's voice is extremely relaxing !. he would spend days and days listening. This man is awesome! Thank you so much! 🙏🏻

A lovely cover, true to the original by Tracy Chapman. This song was a hit when I was young and am sure this cover will also go the same way. My heart stopped at the 3 minute mark, thinking, God don’t let this song stop when he goes into the final stanza and I breathed a sigh of relief, almost like waiting for my last breath before I die 😀
