One of the Reasons you torque the lug nut to spec is to keep the brake rotors from warping and make sure the threads are sticking out a few threads on the nuts. Your studs look shorter not catching all the threads. Unless you are replacing a suspension part we never use heat to get the part off.
I wouldn’t recommend Locite Red it’s classed as semi permanent! Blue would of been better. Applying heat to Aluminium hole could be a nightmare to break the lock.
Yeea, I agree. Honestly Loctite isn’t really necessary. I’ve done all the brakes so I’ve removed them and didn’t have any issues. I didn’t use any loctite when re installing either. These were the first wheel spacers I’ve used on any of my cars so I was just paranoid and being over cautious haha.
Couldn't quite tell but was there enough lug from hub to mount the spacer securely? Seem like the spacer, due to its width, didn't allow for enough lug to bite into with the nut from the spacer.
dEeM0nEy916 haven’t taken them off since this install video and haven’t had any problems either. It would have been nice for the stud to be flush with the outside of the lug but it’s worked out fine. I’m sure you could actually replace the front studs with longer ones, maybe even just using the same size as on the rear hubs and that would eliminate any worry. Thanks for the comment.
Now Please Plasti-Dip your front grille Bezel White. Pay homage to The FJ40. Ez project and it will look great. I did mine on my 07 VooDooBlue and I couldn't be happier with it.
Raul Dominguez were still using the factory wheels and have no problems. We did get an alignment though after doing the install. The left front tire was slightly rubbing one of the fenders after install but after alignment everything was perfect.
The king 101 if done properly it is safe. I didn’t have any vibrations or issues after doing this. That vibration could come from using cheap wheel spacers, not having the spacer sitting flat and flush on the rotor or like I explained if the studs stick past the spacer if using smaller ones and are touching the wheel not allowing it to sit flat.
Marvin Parks 20 inch rims will fit, as long as the lug pattern is the same and you aren’t running too big of a tire. I’m not sure of the backspacing for those f150 wheels but with wheel spacers you should be able to get it right.
Clayton Wilson we still have it. I just had it off for this video. I painted all of the wheels actually. We also vinyl wrapped the whole FJ in an arctic camo as well. It came out pretty cool.
That turned out super nice man! I just but the Daystar 2.5 inch leveling kit on tonight. What did you paint the wheels with? Im thinking of going with a glossy black look. I like the blue spare. That looks way good
Clayton Wilson thanks man, it was fun changing the FJ up like that. I just got spray can paint from autozone to paint the wheels haha. Nothing fancy. Yeea, I thought it would be cool to have the spare a different color.

Good job explaining the situation.Good information on how to do it correctly.
Thank you for this information... another possible add to my 07 FJ sometime soon.
i never knew about the little circle on the underbody (She said that! - M. Scott). Seriously though, solid info mate, thansk.
Using that pole against the seat was a good idea!
awesome video. good angles. solid mate.
The wheel studs to me was a no go I swapped them all out with ARP STUDS

So I purchased some spacers for my FJ as well but not noticed they don't sit flush with my wheel , is this a sizing problem?
Great vid man

@@kamalakeel I faced the same issue today, back not and bolt is snug but front nut is still having some threads left, is this normal or is it unsafe?
did you have a problem rubbing on the body mount? looking to put 3in with 33s with spacers just wondering if it rubs any?? thanks

Nice! U still running the spacers?
Yeea, still running these same spacers after all this time.
Hi, the site notes *aftermarket wheels use only - will not work with factory wheels* . Does this hold based on your experience?

Man Im thinking of putting on spacers on my fj cruiser is it safe and I been reading reviews that sometimes the care vibrates
