Thank you, I'm wondering about pruning the top of my poplars. I'm looking be to get them to have larger stronger main trunks, before they shoot up too high. They are around 15 ft tall now, so still reachable. Can I cut like the top 5 ft off to promote them to bush out? Maybe to get them to have a More bushy top also. These are yard trees for quick shade, my plan is to use them temporarily until my more desirable slow growing trees mature.

Kelly Villines poplars clone easy answer question yes. How ever Aspen which is a type of poplar is not easy clone from cuttings.
