the upside down fish is an actual unused sprite in smw1 for the upside down pirana plant. the fish is due to the space for its vine being over written during production
also yoshis head turning into a fireball was due to the game not being programmed for yoshi and fireballs to be in the same stages. hence they use the same memory space

When you use YY-CHR for decoding the sprites,you will see that the "Fireball-ghosts" in the waterlevel share the same place with yoshi.Thats the reason why Yoshi can't be taken into the castle in the original game. 10:13 This graphics glitch actually has a kind of interesting explanation to it. In Super Mario World there are no piranha plants in the game the grow upwards, only ones the shoot up and grow down/sideways. There does however exist a coded upward growing piranha plant left inside the game, just without a finished sprite. So when it's loaded into the game it works but it's sprite is partially replaced with the cheep cheep, since that's probably what took the place of the vine in the code after it was scrapped. :P
Tucker seems to just being using unused stuff at his leisure! The blue (purple) coins are another example since it's obvious that their code is unfinished since even when the sprites turn to blocks they still function like coins.
For the bad english one, he didn't know the stem for the piranha plant was replaced with a fish in the finished game (I know I explained it weird, but it's somewhere in beta 64, find the stem part there.)
The sad thing is that most of the hacks he tried are pretty high-quality. He should've tried the bad ones like Mario Endgame, or Hammer Brother Demo 3.
