MSC really go after Carnival with the Seaside and Meraviglia class ships and RCL with the World class. They got ungodly amount of cash on hand and zero debt so they have the flexibility that their competitors don't enjoy. It'll be interesting to see if they keep pricing low or start jacking them up as they gain market share.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Been on 6 MSC cruises so far, everyone has honestly been better than the previous as they've made mostly positive changes. That being said drink package changes seem to be nothing more than a cost cutting measure disguised as "safety". For sailing we are interested in we have noticed much if any price increases recently but that may be due to our cabin preference - YC Interior - and itineraries' we prefer tend to be on older US based ships such as Divina, Meraviglia, and Seaside.
I keep hearing rumors from different RUclipsrs that MSC has said they have plans on building the biggest ships to beat out Royal but haven't heard much else about that. Can't wait to try World America, booked in October.
MSC has had conversations with shipyards about building a ship bigger than Icon of the Seas. We are excited to check out Word America next year too! Have you sailed with MSC before?
Finally, Royal Caribbean will have some competition. I used to love their ships but lately their food has been getting worse and bad service also. I will be happy to try a MSC mega ship.
Family and I (2 adults/1 teen) are too excited for this mega ship. Got a great deal for an infinite ocean view cabin and drink packages. Looking forward to sailing on her in June!
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Once on the Seaside. My Greek spouse prefers MSC due to the vibe and we liked the food, especially the butter and pizza. Teen said the ship was okay (lack of activities) and wants to sail on one of RC's monstrous ships. Compromise achieved with the World America. Looking forward to your review!
Can't wait for their World Asia to come here and she'd easily be the biggest megaship in the region. Not having to fly hours just to catch a cruise is a big plus.
Never been on a cruise. Even though it looks very enticing. I feel that with thousands of people on board, there will be lines everywhere, for food, shows, and getting that perfect spot by the pool.
The only way to know is to get on a cruise. "Feeling" that it may bee lines and crowds and not getting the perfect spot, whatever that is, if you never have cruised is just trying to find excuses not cruise. Who knows, you might just love it?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Finding a cruise line, and ship, that fits you takes some research. Watching YT is one way and I have watched a few. There are reviews of ships that I have been on where my experience don't match the channel review. Having done 30+ cruises on Royal, MSC, Celebrity, ... in different cabin categories we have, my wife and I, have settled on MSC and Yacht club. Finding what cruise caters to your preferences takes some time and you will probable have some bad experiences along the way, but don't give up. What vacation do we typically take? This coming year we do 4 cruises, 2 from Miami and 2 from Barcelona (three MSC Yacht Club and one Explora Journey). Six spring weeks in Portugal playing golf and 3 weeks in Florida in October avoiding the cold in Sweden. Then maybe a short stop in a nice European city, it was a while since we visited Paris.
I have been on the World Europa. It is big, but it never feels crowded as cruisers spread out at their favourite spots and cruisers usually don't have the same preferences. Smaller ships are more intimate, but more expensive. Going on another MSC ship, Explora 1 with Explora Journey, in January. Having only 922 guests, the price for the cruise goes up and we payed more than twice as on Europa, and we stayed in Yacht Club on Europa! If you like small ships be prepared to pay. There are "smaller" MSC ships such as Divina with 3500 guests or the old ships such as MSC Opera with only around 2000 guests, but these ships are old(er), but many cruisers like that, cruising as it was before the resort ships came.
Beautiful ships, however they need to be careful with what is making them popular - VALUE. Looking at MSC World America pricing for May 2025, pricing seems to be identical with Celebrity....

True, they have already changed their drink packages for the U.S., and World America prices have been creeping up. Have you sailed with MSC before?

@@Eatsleepcruise1 Multiple times and we usually enjoy it. Our 2 cruises in 2024 on Royal have not been as good though.
Can’t wait to try MSC out this year!

@ we are not. We are sailing on the Meraviglia. If we like it on that I think we’ll try World America next.

@Eatsleepcruise1 NCL, RCL, Celebrity, and Princess. 10 total.

What types of vacations do you typically take? There are several types of cruises which cater to different types of travelers.

Are the bumper cars on world europa free?
There is an upcharge. We believe it was 7 euros a ride, but it is well worth it. Are you sailing on the ship?
