@@brucefrytz8611 we were invited onboard, but I can tell you that with less than 300 guests in MSC Yacht Club, you could see everyone was being treated well & getting the same service. In talking with other passengers we knew they were having just as nice & special a cruise :)
My husband and I went on that cruise 1 week after you. It is the second time we have gone to the Yacht Club, and the experience was actually spectacular. The excellent service of the employees came to mind, seeing some of them in this video, it brought back pleasant memories.
Wow, Ilana! We are sailing the MSC Seascape in March 2025. I thought about the Yacht Club, because when I do it, I like to do it right! With that said, I do have a budget! The trip we are taking has a subset of cruisers who are plant based and we will have an interesting education component.. Our non-plant-based friends who live in Florida will join us. As much as I'd like to "upgrade," I'd rather wait for our next trip, so I can explore everything in Yacht Club. I've been taking care of my elderly mom for the past two years and recently moved her to memory care, so this seemed like the perfect time to book a cruise. Sadly she passed away last week. I had intended to share the photos, since she was an avid traveler in her younger years. I know she will be with me in spirit.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I think you’ll enjoy MSC Seascape in March, even not in Yacht Club. We sailed last March (on our own) in the Fantastica experience I believe & enjoyed. We just got home from our cruise on the MSC Seashore, and also did the MSC Yacht Club in a balcony suite. I agree with many of your assessments of the Yacht Club, but do have to say that we did not get the level of personal service from our butler that you described. We didn’t know how to use the coffee maker the first day because no one explained it, and didn’t get told about several of the services you mentioned, like the breakfast order card or having our formalwear pressed. We didn’t even get the slippers. The cabin was fantastic, and the food was excellent. I doubt we’ll be able to afford doing it again, but it was a combination 10th wedding anniversary and 61st birthday cruise, and I definitely needed a relaxing experience, which I got. I watched a few videos about MSC Yacht Club before we went, but yours is much more comprehensive and well-done, Ilana.

Sorry to hear that, We've been on 6 Yacht Club sailings and another this January on the Seascape. Some butlers are more experienced and do a better job, just like anyone onboard. It can also depend on how many of their cabins are boarding at once and how much time they have. So ALWAYS do your research ahead of time,
I went on MSC several years ago around the Mediterranean, with a friend. We were in the MSC yacht club. Loved everything, the food, the excursions, the suite, the staff . Can’t not recommend it enough, so worth the price.
For honeymoon, my husband and I had a grand suite with Norwegian. we had our own Butler and a wonderful concierge and we thought the same thing “what what does a Butler do”? It was amazing. The attention to detail was spot on and we loved it. 😊
This Sunday I am going to make my check in for the second time in MSC, and again in Yacht Club, It’s very fun, comfortable, luxury and great, I love to have a lot of fun in Atrium Time Square área, I cannot complain for nothing. I love MSC 🙋🏻♀️

We are BlueDiamond top level in the rewards program. Been on 6 Yacht Club sailings (going January 5 2005 on the Seascape as well. The review is totally honest. Once you go Yacht Club, you can never sail in :coach class: again.
No sooner did we leave our seascape YC and booked again on seashore for may 2025. DH said he would not sail on any other ship unless they had a YC similar experience. The YC suits our needs and wants perfectly.
Very interesting video Ilana. Sounds a lot like the Retreat on Celebrity. We have had some amazing butlers on Celebrity who made our cruise even better than a normal cabin. Happy cruising Ilana!
Only problem Ilana is after experiencing this that is the only way one wants to experience a cruise. From embarkation to the last day the experience is amazing in the Retreat and sounds like MSC is trying to copy it.
Our experience on the MSC Armonia wasnot thargreat, mainly around food. Could never get a seat at the buffet, food was cold everywhere, and breakfast at the MDR was a sea of waiters, yet very little service. The Armonia is older and has no specialty restaurants. On our recent HA cruise, a fellow passenger that has cruised often on MSC suggested the newer ships, and that MSC has better excursions and port berth locations,, especially in Europe. So I was already considering giving MSC another chance. The Yacht Club looks amazing! And the Venchi shop , wow.
We have cruised on 5 MSC ships, and Armonia was a disaster! None of it compared with our expectations we have for MSC! Please don't let that ship deter you from discovering the true beauty of MSC. Our last MSC cruise was in Yacht Club on Meraviglia. It was blissful! We are booked for the new World America ship in April--in Yacht Club. So looking forward to this cruise!!

Wow! This was a wonderful video showcasing the MSC Yacht Club! I'm sure that is far above what I can afford especially being a solo traveler. Great job! By the way, you sailed with my all time favorite Captain, Capt. Tuvo. I was lucky enough to sail to Hawaii and back with him at the helm. I will never forget his humor, friendliness, and bye-bye announcement conclusions. He loves to interact with the passengers and seemed to be all over our ship. What a wonderful man! I couldn't tell you the name of any other captain I've had but I'll never forget Capt. Tuvo!! (I was so sorry to find out he left Princess ☹)

Thank you for sharing this video! I've never heard of MSC . We typically sail with Royal and enjoy everything that comes with having a suit. We enjoy the privacy, less crowds, and more relaxation. This is definitely something we will be looking into for our next cruise!!
Thanks for the great video! We have been MSC regulars for a couple of years now, including cruising on Seascape when it was nearly new. We have been curious about the Yacht Club experience, but were reluctant to spend the extra money. You can tell our friends at MSC that we will be going Yacht Club soon. Meanwhile, we still plan to enjoy our birthday/anniversary cruise on Meriviglia in less than two weeks.

We have been sail with MAC for several years. Once we tried the yacht club, it has only been the yacht club. We try to experience each now ship. We have sailed the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. We have had friends from Italy and here in the US join us in the yacht club. Each and everyone has had great praise. But like in everything, you can't please everyone as I have read on RUclips. But for me it is a little of heaven. The yacht club cabanas on their island are very relaxing and a good place to also have a massage. I love the creative shows and experiencing the multitude of languages.
Benn in Yacht Club for 6 cruises, doing the Seascape in 2 weeks and agree with you, except we didn;t think the Ocean Cay cabana was notworth it if you didn;t stay all day, but we did our massages in the spa.

We are thinking about trying MSC but concerned about the smoking. In the upcoming video can you talk a lil bit about that. Is the cigarette smoke strong and in common areas, are there butts around the ship, can people smoke on the balcony, etc?
I have more about this in my MSC Seascape review from about 5-6 months ago. I didn’t find it very different than other cruise lines, however we sailed in the Caribbean & not in Europe
No smoking on balconies on any cruise ship. There are a few smoking areas; the only one you are likely to be bothered by is the smoking area of the casino. The ship is immaculate.

We went on seascape twice to western Caribbean and eastern Caribbean and we really enjoyed we are planning another MSc orchestra going out of Barcelona to the Greek islands in the coming months we like MSc bc of the free perks we get and the staff is awesome we are thinking about doing the yacht club on the Mediterranean cruise 😊😊
We have done a few NCL cruises in the Haven and have loved it! Definitely would like to see how MSC Yacht Club compares. One thing we like on NCL is that the dress code is pretty casual, even in the Haven. How would you say MSC'S dress code was?
People dressed in a relaxed casual way most of the time, evenings people dressed like a restaurant at home. There was more “dressing up” on the Gala night, but people didn’t need to be super fancy

I get it. I'm a blue collar guy and wasn't sure it was for me. I knew DW would like it, though. She did and I did as well. Most YCers seemed like nice, polite regular folks. A few left something to be desired manners-wise, so they're just like any other cruisers.
@ exactly! He says he doesn’t feel like he belongs, but I tell him he has just as much right to be there as anyone else. Then again, I don’t want him to feel uncomfortable when he should be enjoying himself.

We love MSC. Went in April for Aura package, then back in July for the yacht club and I don't think we'll travel any other way. We are booked for Yacht club again in January.

Question for you, I was considering MSC for one of our next cruises but our TA strongly cautioned against MSC. I need to look through your previous videos but would you say the MSC experience is a good one even if you don't book the yacht club? I've looked at the prices and it's a bit steep. Looks like you can book a suite not affiliated with the yacht club for a fair amount less but is the non-yacht club experience as bad as she made it sound?
I’m sorry I just saw your comment and question. I think some TA’s have this opinion based on past reviews and experiences from years ago. Also, no cruise line is the right fit for every person. I’m not sure what a suite would be like outside of YC. We had a balcony cabin on this ship about 6 months before and really enjoyed it. Tou can't directly compare luxury cruises like Silver Sea and Viking to premium lines like Celebrity and Princess to "regular:" lines like Royal Carib, MSC and NCL. They are different levels of overall experience, at vastly different price points, I rate Yacht Club higher than the Haven. No one has the size of the Yacht Club on the newer ships. Also, it is priced lower than any of the other lines for the Ship within a ship concept. I;ve heard that The Retreat has higher food quality but at a comensurate price,
Question. We have cruised MSC when our children were younger but more recently have used NCL and booking in the Vibe. Have thought about the Haven but have never done those suites. Is the NCL’s The Haven comparable to MSC’s Yacht Club? The included things, drink package, privacy, no reservations needed, butler service, room service. Things that are an up charge with the different cruise lines, included in “The Haven or Yacht Club”? If you were trying to compare balcony suites in the Yacht Club prices vs balcony suites with amenities added, what percentage more would you be paying for the Yacht Club?
It's better than the Haven, in our opinion, and less expensive. We were on this sailing with this lovely lady. The menu changes daily, unlike the Haven. Bottled water is included, as is unlimited wi fi. We most likely will always choose MSC YC over NCL Haven going forward.
I have read in several places that MSC discourages givong cash tips to crew. Did you tip your butler or anyone else in addition to the service charge that everyone pays?
@@lynnfranklin5098 I hear you, however I will say that the good thing is when you aren’t in YC, you don’t really notice it so it’s not in your face. Plus, while I do think it’s worth it for a special cruise or for anyone who budgets their money for this, it doesn’t make the regular experience bad, it’s just understandably less personalized on a big ship :)
There is a class system You can go on a $12,000 luxury 7-day or a $699 budget 7 day cruise line. Yacht Club provides a higher level of service as an option for those who appreciate the different experience. If you only need an inside cabin and prefer to dine in the buffet every meal, more power to you. It's your holiday, not mine, and frankly, my dear, I don't give a d*mn.
Thank you for this very thorough review! We've sailed on NCL in the Haven but have never sailed on MSC. I find being waited on hand and foot uncomfortable, but the two things that sold me on the Haven are the plethora low-key and/or quiet spaces and not having to wait in lines/fight crowds everywhere. It looks like the same is true in MSC's Yacht Club. I love that the Yacht Club fare includes the exclusive area of their private island. I wish NCL did that because Silver Cove is very expensive! However, it is also nice to have that option for the cruises here we don't book in the Haven. Your excursion in the Dominican Republic looked amazing, and I will definitely be looking for something like that on our next cruise.

Honestly as you mentioned it’s a very personal decision & i imagine it varies for everyone. However, I will say there is zero pressure or sense of expectation and this could be because MSC is a European cruise line that we did leave a tip to our Butler and some other people
I could see it being a great option for an anniversary cruise. They’ll actually decorate & make it special if you want too (they were telling us on the ship). Either way, happy early anniversary 🥂
you always dress well and appropriately, but your formal outfits are exceptionally great! Trust me, as a man, i notice what other cruisers wear, and i have pointed out the difference - yes, we guys notice. 👍
Not from my experience is their room. The only times loungers are available are usually the fantail cabins or cabins in Carnival;s Havana suites. Besides, there is so much room on the Yachr Club pool deck it's like being in private. And f she s trying to avoid a tan line, remember there is no privacy on balconies.

Sorry to hear that, We've been on 6 Yacht Club sailings and another this January on the Seascape. Some butlers are more experienced and do a better job, just like anyone onboard. It can also depend on how many of their cabins are boarding at once and how much time they have. So ALWAYS do your research ahead of time,
I went on MSC several years ago around the Mediterranean, with a friend. We were in the MSC yacht club. Loved everything, the food, the excursions, the suite, the staff . Can’t not recommend it enough, so worth the price.
For honeymoon, my husband and I had a grand suite with Norwegian. we had our own Butler and a wonderful concierge and we thought the same thing “what what does a Butler do”? It was amazing. The attention to detail was spot on and we loved it. 😊

We typically cruise NCL on The Haven. Your video shows your MSC Yacht Club is a similar experience. Will definitely have to show hubby your video.
This Sunday I am going to make my check in for the second time in MSC, and again in Yacht Club, It’s very fun, comfortable, luxury and great, I love to have a lot of fun in Atrium Time Square área, I cannot complain for nothing. I love MSC 🙋🏻♀️

We are BlueDiamond top level in the rewards program. Been on 6 Yacht Club sailings (going January 5 2005 on the Seascape as well. The review is totally honest. Once you go Yacht Club, you can never sail in :coach class: again.

No sooner did we leave our seascape YC and booked again on seashore for may 2025. DH said he would not sail on any other ship unless they had a YC similar experience. The YC suits our needs and wants perfectly.
Very interesting video Ilana. Sounds a lot like the Retreat on Celebrity. We have had some amazing butlers on Celebrity who made our cruise even better than a normal cabin.

Only problem Ilana is after experiencing this that is the only way one wants to experience a cruise. From embarkation to the last day the experience is amazing in the Retreat and sounds like MSC is trying to copy it.

Our experience on the MSC Armonia wasnot thargreat, mainly around food. Could never get a seat at the buffet, food was cold everywhere, and breakfast at the MDR was a sea of waiters, yet very little service. The Armonia is older and has no specialty restaurants. On our recent HA cruise, a fellow passenger that has cruised often on MSC suggested the newer ships, and that MSC has better excursions and port berth locations,, especially in Europe. So I was already considering giving MSC another chance. The Yacht Club looks amazing! And the Venchi shop , wow.

We have cruised on 5 MSC ships, and Armonia was a disaster! None of it compared with our expectations we have for MSC! Please don't let that ship deter you from discovering the true beauty of MSC. Our last MSC cruise was in Yacht Club on Meraviglia. It was blissful! We are booked for the new World America ship in April--in Yacht Club. So looking forward to this cruise!!
I was in the Yacht Club on the Seaside and Meraviglia,,,,,,,from start to finish this by far exceeded our expectations. If you can, treat yourselves…..Highly recommended!

Aproveché una gran oferta 😊🙂 La verdad, es una experiencia fuera de lo común. Ni estoy acistumbrada a ese lujo ni mucho menos a gener "mayordomo". Soy gente corriente. No aproveché muchos de los privilegios, pero, gue una experiencia espectacular. Tener donàs tranquilas, sin prisas, comiendo y bebiendo muy muy bien....sería falsa si te dijera que no valió la pena. Wow! This was a wonderful video showcasing the MSC Yacht Club! I'm sure that is far above what I can afford especially being a solo traveler. Great job! By the way, you sailed with my all time favorite Captain, Capt. Tuvo. I was lucky enough to sail to Hawaii and back with him at the helm. I will never forget his humor, friendliness, and bye-bye announcement conclusions. He loves to interact with the passengers and seemed to be all over our ship. What a wonderful man! I couldn't tell you the name of any other captain I've had but I'll never forget Capt. Tuvo!! (I was so sorry to find out he left Princess ☹)

Thank you for sharing this video! I've never heard of MSC . We typically sail with Royal and enjoy everything that comes with having a suit. We enjoy the privacy, less crowds, and more relaxation. This is definitely something we will be looking into for our next cruise!!

We have been sail with MAC for several years. Once we tried the yacht club, it has only been the yacht club. We try to experience each now ship. We have sailed the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. We have had friends from Italy and here in the US join us in the yacht club. Each and everyone has had great praise. But like in everything, you can't please everyone as I have read on RUclips. But for me it is a little of heaven. The yacht club cabanas on their island are very relaxing and a good place to also have a massage. I love the creative shows and experiencing the multitude of languages.

Benn in Yacht Club for 6 cruises, doing the Seascape in 2 weeks and agree with you, except we didn;t think the Ocean Cay cabana was notworth it if you didn;t stay all day, but we did our massages in the spa.

We are thinking about trying MSC but concerned about the smoking. In the upcoming video can you talk a lil bit about that. Is the cigarette smoke strong and in common areas, are there butts around the ship, can people smoke on the balcony, etc?
I have more about this in my MSC Seascape review from about 5-6 months ago. I didn’t find it very different than other cruise lines, however we sailed in the Caribbean & not in Europe

No smoking on balconies on any cruise ship. There are a few smoking areas; the only one you are likely to be bothered by is the smoking area of the casino. The ship is immaculate.

We went on seascape twice to western Caribbean and eastern Caribbean and we really enjoyed we are planning another MSc orchestra going out of Barcelona to the Greek islands in the coming months we like MSc bc of the free perks we get and the staff is awesome we are thinking about doing the yacht club on the Mediterranean cruise 😊😊

We have done a few NCL cruises in the Haven and have loved it! Definitely would like to see how MSC Yacht Club compares. One thing we like on NCL is that the dress code is pretty casual, even in the Haven. How would you say MSC'S dress code was?
People dressed in a relaxed casual way most of the time, evenings people dressed like a restaurant at home. There was more “dressing up” on the Gala night, but people didn’t need to be super fancy

So how did the cost of this compare to regular cruisers in the other parts of the ship? My husband is definitely one of those people that would feel “out of place“. As for me, this is right up my alley!
This was the really nice thing - honestly, the other passengers were “regular” too & not snooty. It just felt much more calm
I get it. I'm a blue collar guy and wasn't sure it was for me. I knew DW would like it, though. She did and I did as well. Most YCers seemed like nice, polite regular folks. A few left something to be desired manners-wise, so they're just like any other cruisers.
@ exactly! He says he doesn’t feel like he belongs, but I tell him he has just as much right to be there as anyone else. Then again, I don’t want him to feel uncomfortable when he should be enjoying himself.

Probably not enough amperage in the outlet; besides, curling irons are banned on cruise ships as a fire hazzard.
We love MSC. Went in April for Aura package, then back in July for the yacht club and I don't think we'll travel any other way. We are booked for Yacht club again in January.

I have been considering doing one for awhile now. I've had friends who went and loved it. I've heard some negative things but it is dealt more on what they were used to on other cruise lines.

Question for you, I was considering MSC for one of our next cruises but our TA strongly cautioned against MSC. I need to look through your previous videos but would you say the MSC experience is a good one even if you don't book the yacht club? I've looked at the prices and it's a bit steep. Looks like you can book a suite not affiliated with the yacht club for a fair amount less but is the non-yacht club experience as bad as she made it sound?
I’m sorry I just saw your comment and question. I think some TA’s have this opinion based on past reviews and experiences from years ago. Also, no cruise line is the right fit for every person. I’m not sure what a suite would be like outside of YC. We had a balcony cabin on this ship about 6 months before and really enjoyed it. You’ll find that video on my channel so you can see if it’s the right fit for you :)

It would be interesting to weigh the benefits of a larger, more vibrant ship like MSC with the more intimate luxury of a smaller ultra-luxury line like Silver Sea.

Tou can't directly compare luxury cruises like Silver Sea and Viking to premium lines like Celebrity and Princess to "regular:" lines like Royal Carib, MSC and NCL. They are different levels of overall experience, at vastly different price points, I rate Yacht Club higher than the Haven. No one has the size of the Yacht Club on the newer ships. Also, it is priced lower than any of the other lines for the Ship within a ship concept. I;ve heard that The Retreat has higher food quality but at a comensurate price,

Question. We have cruised MSC when our children were younger but more recently have used NCL and booking in the Vibe. Have thought about the Haven but have never done those suites. Is the NCL’s The Haven comparable to MSC’s Yacht Club? The included things, drink package, privacy, no reservations needed, butler service, room service. Things that are an up charge with the different cruise lines, included in “The Haven or Yacht Club”? If you were trying to compare balcony suites in the Yacht Club prices vs balcony suites with amenities added, what percentage more would you be paying for the Yacht Club?
It's better than the Haven, in our opinion, and less expensive. We were on this sailing with this lovely lady. The menu changes daily, unlike the Haven. Bottled water is included, as is unlimited wi fi. We most likely will always choose MSC YC over NCL Haven going forward.
I have read in several places that MSC discourages givong cash tips to crew. Did you tip your butler or anyone else in addition to the service charge that everyone pays?
We alwas give additional cash tips, even in the Yacht Club, and they are appreciated.

Plus, while I do think it’s worth it for a special cruise or for anyone who budgets their money for this, it doesn’t make the regular experience bad, it’s just understandably less personalized on a big ship :)
There is a class system You can go on a $12,000 luxury 7-day or a $699 budget 7 day cruise line. Yacht Club provides a higher level of service as an option for those who appreciate the different experience. If you only need an inside cabin and prefer to dine in the buffet every meal, more power to you. It's your holiday, not mine, and frankly, my dear, I don't give a d*mn.
Thank you for this very thorough review! We've sailed on NCL in the Haven but have never sailed on MSC. I find being waited on hand and foot uncomfortable, but the two things that sold me on the Haven are the plethora low-key and/or quiet spaces and not having to wait in lines/fight crowds everywhere. It looks like the same is true in MSC's Yacht Club.
I love that the Yacht Club fare includes the exclusive area of their private island. I wish NCL did that because Silver Cove is very expensive! However, it is also nice to have that option for the cruises here we don't book in the Haven.

We should enjoy them while they last cause they will catch up $$ one day We live in Pennsylvania and have a cruise scheduled out of Orlando, Key West, and somewhere else in January and we can’t wait for the warm weather. So we have never sailed with MSC, but the yacht club makes it look appealing. I realize that tipping is personal, but what is the expected tip for a butler per week? I always love your videos. ❤
Honestly as you mentioned it’s a very personal decision & i imagine it varies for everyone. However, I will say there is zero pressure or sense of expectation and this could be because MSC is a European cruise line that we did leave a tip to our Butler and some other people

I could see it being a great option for an anniversary cruise. They’ll actually decorate & make it special if you want too (they were telling us on the ship). Either way, happy early anniversary 🥂
you always dress well and appropriately, but your formal outfits are exceptionally great! Trust me, as a man, i notice what other cruisers wear, and i have pointed out the difference - yes, we guys notice. 👍

Hello, in the suite, can you get a lounger on the balcony. My wife loves lounging on the private balcony the most. There looks to be room Thanks
That’s a good question, tbh I’m not sure but I’m sure they’d try to accommodate if they can
Not from my experience is their room. The only times loungers are available are usually the fantail cabins or cabins in Carnival;s Havana suites. Besides, there is so much room on the Yachr Club pool deck it's like being in private. And f she s trying to avoid a tan line, remember there is no privacy on balconies.
Great video and very helpful. So, this would be a great option for someone who wants to cruise with less of a crowd. Since limited for guest who pay for the experience.

Was your cababa included? The butler can also unpack and pack for you. Well rhe last time we were on there they dud. Shoe shine etc. Laundry etc...still happening?
@@dke8440 yes included. Our butler would have unpacked if we wanted, but it wasn’t something that I felt I needed :)

So glad this was helpful. I’ve cruised with Celebrity but never in Retreat. I can’t say for sure, but we met other guests on board who had tried both & found YC to be a nice value

Great video. Was the cabana at Ocean Cay part of being in the Yacht Club or did you pay extra for that? I'm booked on my first MSC cruise next month in the Yacht Club but on the Meraviglia.
No there was an extra charge for this but it can be rented. Have an amazing time!
Cabana on Ocean Cay is not included, it is an upcharge. We tried it once was was OK, but didn't get the value out of it to repeat.
