Amazing detail 😮 your skiving looks like one piece of leather. Thank you for sharing. Kudos to your videographer and editor too ❤
I have been working on my skiving skills but I have the knives that come in a beginner kit. I have to do my best to make it sharp and keep it sharp and stropped or invest in a better knive.
Interesting pattern, very clever. I was, however, expecting more instructions on the actual skiving. What tool choice, sharpening tips, angle and pressure of shove.
Merci pour le patron et pour la vidéo, le parage est vraiment une technique à pratiquer si l'on veut un beau résultat :) Merci encore Alexandre :)
interesting pattern! love the concept :D
Wow amazing piece! Any tips on how to keep the skiving knife sharp enough? I always find it not sharp enough when skiving…
I am using a sharpening stone and a leather strop
Where and what the name of the skyver your using? And the P66 glue where to buy. Not all are created the same..
Many thanks, these videos are very helpful for people who are learning like me. I tried to buy you a coffee buy my PayPal rejected it.
Thank for trying to buy me a coffee I do not know why it didn't work. I will check, thank you for letting me know.
Which leather craftsmen do you take as role models?
It is quite hard to answer that question, I worked for various companies in France from 2001 till 2008 making high end leather goods.
My mentors are quite old guys with no Instagram or other social media presence who often started to learn the craft many decades ago. Most of them are retired now :)
@@Theleathercraftacademy Thank you for your detailed reply.
It's great that you are giving away a pattern for this and that you are showing how to make it. But there is no information in regards to how to "skive leather like a pro". The title of this video couldn't be any more misleading. I expected to see skiving tips and tricks. Not just another build video with a clickbait title.
