Visited the Nixon Library last week, this was the fourth Presidential Library I've been to (Carter, Reagan, Eisenhower, Nixon) and I would say this is my favorite. I especially liked the Oval Office replica that you can go in to. The Reagan Library has one as well but you can't go into it. I also wondered how the Library would handle Watergate, but there is a large section dedicated to it. You can also tour Nixon's childhood home, which I loved. A must visit if ever in SoCal.

Richard Nixon was horrible. In 1968, President Lyndon Johnson tried to have peace talks with North Vietnam in Paris. Nixon prevented it by telling the North Vietnamese not to agree to peace and they would get better terms with himself as president. The Vietnamese War continued to 1975 - the year after Nixon resigned.
When Gerald Ford died, he had a statement read at his funeral. "I did have an agreement with Richard Nixon where he had me agree to pardon him as a condition of my becoming vice-president. (paraphrased)"
Read 7seals.blogspot.com - only the returned Christ & Albert Einstein reincarnated could produce that. It's triggered The Apocalypse/Revelation which is NOT the 'end of the world'.

Despite all of his faults, and there were many, he was probably the greatest President in foreign affairs that we have ever had. He actually studied nations, what their desires were and what their weaknesses were. He was a skillful negotiator and always put American interests first but, gave the other side what they needed. I don’t think any modern President could hold a candle to his intelligence or experience.

Having mot yet been, could you describe the difference? I am very glad the Oval Office, etc. Has been added. I know that all Presidential Libraries, well, the families, etc, do not like or when the National Archives take over. O loved Richard M. Nixon, and that's all there is to it.

I was thinking that I'm going to feel the same way, I haven't been to the library since the remodel but am planning on going there again in Sep. The old library, as I remember, was just jam packed, almost overloaded with cool stuff. The last time I was there all of the gifts that Nixon received from foreign dignitaries were on display and that is still one of the most impressive exhibits I've ever seen, and as a lifelong SoCal native, I've been to most all the major museums in SoCal. Judging from this video the new set up seems pretty reminiscent of the Reagan Museum which, with the exception of AF 1, is really kind of boring, sterile.

The legislative legacy of Nixon and Johnson is an avalanche compared to the trickle you get today. However the clean air and water act. Office of management and budget, the EPA, the ABM treaty, 1971 currency crises, ending the draft, the Philadelphia project. The areas that most people know nothing about.

Nixon put shame on the American Presidency. Despite serving in the United States Navy, no ship, facility, or even road on a Navy base has been named after him. He committed crimes, then tried to cover them up. Integrity matters more than results.
