This is a real great performance of the famous work. For Antal the most intricate passages seem to be easy. The cadenza is very well concieved with masterful elaborations of the musical material. Very beautiful indeed! It is refreshing to hear something else than the overplayed Sauret Cadenza. Then there are some nice details as for instance the E-major scale at 5.42 with the upper octave played in semiquavers so that the orchestra can come in at the right moment. Antal is a master of the highest calibre.
It's incredible how much of David Oistrakh I see in him, an old-school technique with pure artistic expression with no need to dance around the stage like nowaday musicians. I am absolutely amazed Antal you've just earned a life time follower and fan. I hope you come some day to Argentina I'd love to see a live performance.
@A.H I don't know what you mean, where did I insult other musicians? I didn't want to be mean by any way with my comment, to the contrary, I was celebrating the wonderful technique Antal has. I guess you misread my message.
In my humble opinion Antal Zalai is the best contemporanean Paganini-Performer,blessed with an unique Technique and a very skillfull Art of Interpretation. His Interpretation of Paganini´s "Moto Perpetuo" just blew me away.
Yes , he is great. But there are also others: try to listen to Roman Kim's "I Palpiti", "God Save the King" and his other recordings like "Ballade Dies Irae".
No need for personal comments. But he does have the build, short neck, square shoulders. I was made to play without a rest at music college and it crippled me.
Slava Ukraine 🧡💙 Do you happen to know Boris Gromov? He was one of the greatest Ukrainian violinists, and he also played Paganini brilliantly (look for Concerto No. 4, it is on RUclips). Alas, he passed away in 2018, just in his prime.
Grazie grazie 😊Continua così e farai molta strada !!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍💐💐

excellent fiddling. i'm not crazy about the harmonics at 29:50 - it removes the virtuosic nature of the passage. one of paganin's hallmarks is the great leaps - playing it in low positions with harmonics is not paganini's style.

Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer the historic unique organ dates back to 1910-1940 in Seattle Paramount Theater and Alabama Theater. Variations of Rachmaninoff Paganini the portable Wurlitzer electric piano it's texture sound quality both unprecedented with organ 21 sets of pipes.
It is the most musical, beautifully presented performance...poor support from notable 1st desk (inside) player who all but rolled her eyes...V unprofessional...she also started to turn pages after the end...! What a disappointing poser...the orchestra, & conductor, accommodated admiralbly throughout...pity about certain individuals.... Antal, congratulations, it was beautiful.

Yes he looks and plays like David Oistrach.. I like Antal Zalai.
Wow. I feel exactly the same way. First time I saw him play he reminded me of David Oistrakh who was one of my mom's all time favorites.

Love your cadenza

What about Salvatore Accardo?
Salvatore Accardo interprets Paganini best

Fantastic performance! Another violinist without shoulder rest.
To be honest he does not need one :)
His neck fat acts as a shoulder rest no offense to the guy
@@bobobobobobobobobo9393 You have no fucking idea. No offense..
No need for personal comments. But he does have the build, short neck, square shoulders. I was made to play without a rest at music college and it crippled me.
plus I have seen him use a shoulder rest in other videos
BRAVO !
My favourite cadenza! Amazing!
these are the best staccato and spicato I've heard !!!
Ridiculously good. It really does take a lifetime of practice and devotion to the instrument to be able to play it like this.
Ridiculously?
Grandissimo solista!
I passaggi morbidissimi, non stride mai. Senti il suo moto perpetuo.
The best version I've heard so far! Bravo! 🤗🎻💚
Wow! What a beautiful performance and a fantastic (original) cadenza. Bravo!!!

No, I didn't know him until now, thanks for telling me.

So amazing! You and your videos are a great inspiration to me. You are an amazing violinist.
Wonderful musician, amazing violinist! Bravo
very lyrical and beautiful cadenza! Great!
Hungarian nationality Antal Zalai is a great violonist , I like his performances very much.
great cadenza
Fantastic!
Exceptional cadenza. Bravo, bravo.
Amazing! Love love love!

Very very very bravo!! I thought that you played the Sauret's cadenza, who is cadenza's composer played by you?
+Roy Arena It's my own cadenza :-)
+Antal Zalai My congratulations! Very interesting and brilliant.
I Hope to see you in a live performance one time :)
Jeffrey Sun A complicated part of a piece of music normally played by a soloist to show off just how badass of a player they are.
Allen Smith when the soloist repeats the 1st movements material near the end of the 1st movement or at the end.
28:55 He didn't miss any single harmonic!!! Crazy!
12:30 WOW!
It take a very, very special humanbeing to do this....
17:25 kadenza
Bravisimooooo
BRAVISSISSIMO!
I say: wonderful.
And I point in, also: no dance on the stage, but just violin sound. PERFECT. IN A GIPSY MOOD, AS WELL.
Brilliant! Whose candeza was this?
cadenza : Antal Zalai

17:25 Is it Wilhelmj cadenza? It doesn't sound like Sauret and Hadelich.
it's his original cadenza

Great playing, and as always fresh and original interpretations! I wonder what instrument he is playing too, looks modern..
I think he said that it is a Stradivari from the 18th century......... i think....

When I was preparing for this concert it seemed to be an interesting new idea, but I don't like it any more either. Next time will be as written.

I saw a lot of trickery 😂 still good 😁

È un pittore del violino.
He is good though I still prefer Mr Salvatore Accardo
viburato……
Sempre meglio Accardo.
🎉🎉🎉
Question is, why should someone listen to this:
Solo ok nothing special,
Orchestra fail....
Why so serious?
TOO BAD HE DOESN'T HAVE A DECENT STACCATO!
Rubbish comment...
