This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and RUclips channel.

Happy New Year. Thanks for the great videos in 2023. Here in Hagerstown a giant donut is dropped to ring in the New Year. 🍩
Yum! Any reason why a donut?
@baltimoreheritage1006 Krumpe's Donuts in Hagerstown are loved by many so they sponsored the drop and give away 5000+ donuts to the hungry crowd.
Was involved with the inaugural event in Havre de Grace! Fun; glad to know it continues. HAPPIEST NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE 🎉
So interesting to hear where it came from.
Happy New Year, Hon, right back atcha! 🤓💥💫🕛✨🎊
Great video! We've seen a duck drop at Havre de Grace but are still hoping to see the muskrat drop in Princess Anne. Happy New Year John's and all the 5 minute team!
Thanks--you too!
Was involved with the inaugural event in Havre de Grace! Great time!
Oh Wow! That's a LOT of items dropping for the New Year! I never knew about so many of them.May all of you have a Safe, Happy & Blessed New Year!
Thanks Jacqueline!
Here in Frederick we drop a key 🔑( for Francis Scott Key) Love the local traditions. Happy and blessed new year 🎉
Havre de Grace has a decoy duck drop. 🦆 And fireworks!
Love this!
Easton, PA, drops a crayon because it's the headquarters of the Crayola company.
Fun! There's nobody running around in a diaper over here, but the Arcadia neighborhood in NE Baltimore has been dropping our own ball from a sailboat mast since 2006, with a hilltop view of the inner harbor fireworks, too.
This is awesome!
How do I complain about a Hillsdale College ad preceding your video? That sham of a college has no biz advertising on your channel. It's just a far right propaganda mill.
