- These slippery rice noodle rolls are another classic Dim Sum dish from my childhood. In this video we make 3 different kinds of Cheung Fun: Plain, 'Prawn' and BBQ Roast 'Pork'! But there are so many more varieties and you can even get creative with your own fillings! We start with the traditional way to steam the rice noodle rolls - with cotton steamer cloths! If you ever travel to Hong Kong or Malaysia, look out for street food vendors cooking Cheung Fun this way!

Perfect instructions, Thank you. Part of me says - Do it, but the other part says head over to your dim sum restaurant and just enjoy it. It’s not an expensive item for all the steps. However an inner voice is now calling me to try my hand based on your instructions.
This is literally my favourite yum cha dish ever omg I'm drooling
I'm going to try and make these now
I tried the approach with the steamer and the metal tray and it worked out great--thanks for the tutorial!
rice noodle rolls were literally my childhood too!! these look AMAZING 😍😍
Yes, Go Go, childhood "Cheung Fun 腸粉"!!!
I love it too, Hong Kong Style, Baby!!!
Thank You for making this video and teaching us ALL!!!
You are AWESOME!!!
This is such a great video with good information! Thank you so much!
Hey this is so cool, I was just binge-watching chinese street food videos and trying to veganise the recipes myself, but there you go, quality vegan channel covering asian food. These rice noodles look amazing!
Finally, a person who actually knows how. This is the third recipe on line I tried.. I used simple syrup which I had on hand for cocktails, added the soy sauce. It worked.
Omg all three kinds look so delicious!! Actually, it is possible to make these in a microwave too by pouring a thin layer of dough on to a slightly greased plate. I know this is definitely not authentic (and I really appreciate it that you show the authentic method ;)) but it's an option if you don't have the equipment to steam. A friend from Guangdong showed me how to make them that way :)
So clever!!! This is genius I'm actually going to try this!! >.< Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this with me , look amazing n yummy thank you very much
Thank you for your recipe... looks great
SO COOL! Never knew they were made like this
Thanks for sharing....Looks really yummy
These look so good. I’ve made so much dim sum and wheat based noodles but never rice noodles. I need to try this!
omgggg! this looks deliciousss! thanks for sharing!
This looks so complex to make but looks so worth!!!
Wow! I didn't realise that's how these were made. Yum

Living for this content T.T
UGH i want to make this RIGHT NOWWWWW!!! I always want to buy the chow fun noodles but i don't know how to prepare them! this looks so crazy good i can't even!!
Awesome!
amazing
Looks delicous!! I'm in the USA, so I doubt Lamyong won't ship over here. Thank you.
Fabulous. Thank you! I love it plain too. Any tips on keeping batches warm as you go along?
Hi, this look so easy for you. How long do you let it cool before rolling, i can't seem to be able to roll, i decided to wait for 2 mins to let it cook, it is easier, but still breaks
Hi, can I.pls ask where you got the tray with the holes?
Thank you so much; could you please tell us if they can be frozen after steaming
I wouldn't. Rice noodles break when refrigerated
Best to eat fresh but U can steam it bk up
Can you use cheesecloth instead using diluted mixture?
1.5 cup fine rice flour is how many grams?
sisss this is literally the only vegan recipe that will impress asians omg
hahhaa thank you! or will it....? :P
2:30 If you remove the rack with holes and THEN put the steamer cloth on, then you won't burn your hands.
These look so good! Is there any way you keep them warm while you make the next batches?
What is a steamer cloth made from and where do we get one. Thank you.
👏👏👏👏
Is there a vegan restaurant in Sydney that makes these?
YES! Check out Carlingford Vegetarian Cuisine!!!
If you were to fry the plain rice rolls, how would you recommend that one would go about it?
Falleg0Livse after steaming just pan fry the plain noodle rolls until lightly golden brown and crispy! Generally you’d only fry the tops and bottoms and frying doesn’t really work with the big rolls :)
@@itslizmiu AMAZING. Thank you. And they look so beyond incredible, can't wait to challenge myself with this.
Thanks,,,,U
the famous vegan prawns, vegan oyster sauce and vegan pork! nice video tho.
Regarding your 1.5 cup rice flour, 1 cup is how many gram?
Approximately 5 and a half cups of water for a 16 oz bag of rice flour or one of the 16 oz dedicated flours for this dish. The Baisha brand Flour for Wet Rice Paper is a good one to use. that one contains instructions on the back if needed.
When is your next video? We miss you
omg who the hell disliked this video??? i don't understand
Love it but why you say vegan?? Cha siu, shrimp and dried shrimps are not vegan
Because all the 'meat' I am using in this video is not real meat!!!! :) It is all vegan! Just tastes like meat :P
What does this have to do with vegan
Which part is supposed to b vegan?? 🤔
@@themoment23 They were mock meat products so all vegan.
Is that a rhetorical question? 🤦♂️
And none of the names are vegan
