how much power does the 55 model use if set to -7 or 0 degrees F and in an ambient temperature of say 80-90 degrees F? Curious about both AC and DC power draw over 24 hours. Thanks
Hi mate, nice viedeo like always. Thinking about buying this one, because I'm not happy with the engel md 60 FC. I have a 75ah optima yellow agm Batterie with 200 Watts permanently solar on it. And a mobile 100 watt solar to put on top by standing. Do you think that is enough power for a long weekend (4 days)? I mean it needs a lot of power... 🤔
You can plug the AC when the DC is plugged in but then you run the risk of setting the fridge (oops - cooler) on fire and damaging the cooler. Dometic has fixed the issue and if you register your warranty they'll mail you a sticker that warns you against doing that.
Nice review!! Can you buy those little ice trays separately from Dometic, or you, that you showed on the first unit? Maybe a comparison of how long it takes to make ice between the 2 if the that is even possible on the CFX3 75DZ.
@@mysteryyyyyy You can use any ice trays in the 75 unit as its Dual Zone so the whole side of the box will freexe, but it does not have a little ice only tray.
@@mysteryyyyyy on the 55 its just a shelf that freezes to make the ice so you cant remove it as its part of the freezer, but you dont have to have the ice trays in. \
After having a hands on at bcf, these have a very cheap feel to them, the demo unit was stained and already had a broken latch. This pushed me to the arb zero 96L
It will make ice even though when cooler temperature is above 0 C because the ice trays are in direct contact with the freeze plate below. But you're right, I guess it's not a literal ice maker.
The construction of a £35 fridge and performance will be much different to these and we stock and sell lower prices ones. They are different products for different purposes but pleased you happy with your purchase.
I picked up a second hand mini bar fridge for $50. Carried it around the back of my car for 6 months for work. (Traveling tradesman) then bought cf50. So much better but cost me AU$1000 but happy with my $1k purchase, sill going after 8 years of been knocked around. I'll be buying the cfx3 75dz

Just picked mine up I'm stoked with it
az_ adventures I’m in Az also! Which model did you get and how is it holding up?
How has the fridge held up? What size did you get and would you down size or have purchased a larger model? Thank you.
With the cfx3 dz75, can one compartment be turned off all together to reduce power consumption if you only needed 1 side?
yes
Can you use this on a camp site electric hook up
the app display for controlling the temperature has the zones the wrong way around

Why can you not use a extension cord or splitter with the CFX3 ? This would be difficult at a campsite?
Dometic states this on their video.
if you are running it on 12v it needs its own power socket but on mains you can use a splitter
@@CamperiteLeisureMarksTey Dometic clearly states you are not to use an electrical extension cord on their you tube Video?
Well done!
Thank you great video
Does the CFX3 95DZ automatically switch from Dc to AC when plugged into AC or would I need to disconnect the DC when I plug it into AC?

Instagram Overlander mailing a sticker does not “fix it”
Great in-depth review. Are the compressors upgraded/redesigned or are they the same as the previous CFX models?
I believe that the compressor has been redesigned
Sorry yes, it is a new compressor.
What you mean the 75 has less storage space?
wondering the same!
46liters or u mean 36liters?

Just got the reply from Dometic, The ice trays will be available as a spare to buy eventually
@@CamperiteLeisureMarksTey will they work/fit into the 75 unit? how long will ice take to make in the 75 (heard you say 55 is 3 hours)
Also, can you remove the ice making compartment for more general storage space?

Incorrect
That's not an ice maker. By that logic anything you place an ice tray into and you freeze the water has an ice maker.

Starting price £899. I understand that they have quite a lot of features but I picked up my fridge for £35 and it's bigger!
