I make my own yogurt, and like using whole milk, even though we use 2 % for drinking. I've also added powdered milk to some batches, which seems to thicken it up a bit. Yummy! 😋

This is how I make yogurt too but I like Greek yogurt so after it’s done in the Instant Pot I put a coffee filter in a colander which is over another bowl, then pour the yogurt into a strainer over the colander. I cover it and put in fridge overnight and the whey strains off the yogurt and it’s really nice and thick the next morning. You can use the whey in biscuits or pancakes. So yummy. Suzette

Thanks for the tip on straining! I've been meaning to give it a try because my boys prefer Greek yogurt. I'm going to give it a try with the next batch!

My hubby & I eat yogurt (store bought) for the probiotics benefits, keeps our guts happier. I'm probably the only one on the planet who still doesn't own an Instant Pot, lol! My preferred kind is the Greek, 0% milk fat, all natural ingredients, fruit on the bottom kind (usually Chobani), & I have to put my favorite granola, the Bear Naked Honey Almond kind in it. That's one of my go to breakfasts. But I do sometimes get some plain vanilla yogurt to use in my smoothies occasionally too. If I ever get an Instant Pot I'll have to give this yogurt making method a try, thanks for sharing. 😊👍🏻

Yes! Yogurt is great for the gut for sure! The instant pot is a lot of fun, if you ever decide to get one!

I just got an instant pot for Christmas and haven’t used it yet any supper recipes that are your favorite? Would love to see how you use your instant pot.. I’m a little afraid of it.

There are soooooo many recipes on the internet! One thing to try for your first time using it is to make hard boiled eggs. It's so easy and the peeling just falls off! Just put 1 cup of water in the pot, put the rack in and set your eggs on it (I've done as many as 9 eggs). close the lid and the vent, cook on high pressure setting for 6 minutes. When it beeps, vent the steam and place the eggs in ice water to cool. So tasty!

I always add a drizzle of vanilla extract in my yoghurt to remove the sourness, it gives it a creamy taste, then add whatever fruit,m usually blueberries or raspberries. My cat even enjoys a dollop every day for his tummy as he has allergies and it seems to help,im think the fermentation progress makes it easier for him to digest than regular milk which I don’t give him. My mum used to make yoghurt back in the late 70s early 80s, no idea how, must ask her. I’d try this if I had a device that I was using for a few other things but not sure I’d buy solely for yoghurt. How long does it stay fresh for?

I agree about adding the vanilla, sooo tasty! So many ways to flavor it up! We used to give yogurt to our dogs when we had them many years ago. I forgot about that :)
The yogurt stays fresh for 1-2 weeks, but it barely lasts a week in our house, lol!
