Crochet Solid Circle, Create a Circle that Holds the Weight

- I use Knit Picks Cotton Yarn to add to the strength shrsl.com/10uh5 The Crochet Solid Circle is primarily used to start any circle that is going to hold weight; such as a purse, or backpack. I’m assuming the technique (crocheting around the loose end and tightening it) has been around well before the early 1900’s. My assumption comes from remembering listening to the older Ladies in my Crochet Club talking about THEIR Grandmothers making “hauling bags” out of any stiff fiber that could handle a hook (extreme recycling).
** SHOW NOTES & RESOURCES **
1. Knit Picks Cotton Yarn to add to the strength: shrsl.com/10uh5 Knit Picks calls this yarn Dishie. It’s 100% cotton, worsted weight, in Azure Blue. Best part, it’s no more expensive than the ‘big’ name brands.
2. The Crochet Hooks I used during the video was an H 5.00 mm, Clover Crochet Hook. I started using Clover Crochet Hooks shortly after my hand surgery and I truly believe they are part of what’s kept me crocheting. amzn.to/2K7k4QZ
