A very unique and original vision - I think of his music as like Neil Young ("this note's for you") on acid. Sad that Sparklehorse is being mostly forgotten. This video has the most views of them all.
Well it’s from two years before the album. And just a couple weeks before his crippling/life altering OD. That would suck so fucking hard. Radiohead asks you to tour even though you’ve only played a handful of tiny shows, and right at the outset you OD, die, get brought back, nearly lose your legs, and end up in a wheelchair for years. Then after all that to come out with a game changer like Good Morning Spider. He never seemed to be able to catch a break, life beat him fucking senseless. Still makes me despair to think about that last decade. He lost everything. Can’t hardly blame the guy. Miss him so much tho. Every time my shitty band would tour near his neck of the woods, he’d have us out. Super generous, kind, cool southern gentleman. And by far, one of the most unique minds I’ve ever seen operate a studio.
This is a super early version, 2 years before GMS. Good god…. I just realized this was filmed days if not weeks before his crippling, life altering OD. Cause that was 1996, and he was in the hospital for a long time after than, then a wheelchair for a long time after that.
Sparklehorse had the same thing going on that Elliott Smith had. Not just depression but just so much talent that speaks to me.
Yeah he had that musical depression. Ya know? Rights, mandigo. You know what I'm talkin aboot.
There’s a level of poetry that is easily missed. Although simple in nature, his music is truly profound and light years ahead of its time.
I like whiskey too.
Love to see all the musicians and instruments play live and of course the highlight being Mark’s Linkous voice
RIP mark. This is awesome
Years are going so fast and Mark's music is so timeless..
He's right here love you guys hail satan-mark
Sparklehorse for ever...
no way is this 25 years ago! And 10 years since Mark passed?
God he was absolutely fearless. He did what he thought mattered to the track/performance and didn’t give a damn about anyone else. 😢

Bellissima versione di uno dei suoi brani più belli, mi manchi Mark 😢❤
Great quality for 96!
Thank you for sharing this. I miss him so much.
Me too, saw him in London once.
My heart

mark never stopped playing. the look on the bands face like they knew they were holding up something very important and fragile
omg, this is really good!
Best band hardly no one knows about.
Gracias por subirlos en esta buena calidad!! 2020 Sparklehorse aun suena y más fuerte! 01.01.20

Beauty 💌
Holy Shit. I was gonna say I was shocked he’s able to stand, then realized this is pre hotel room OD. It must’ve been just weeks before.
Pure beauty forever missed forever loved hope your jamming hard up there ❤💚💛🧡💙💜 for the soul 🤘🤘

Thank you so much!
De mis bandas favoritas en lo personal de sus 4 albums el god morning Spider es mi favorito
El mío también:')
Mooi! Groeten uit Oudsbergen-Belgiê
That recorder thing is so cool, Radiohead would do somthing like that
❤❤❤❤❤
I had one of those exact yak-backwards. They were fun as hell, especially when they glitch out. Someone should circuit-bend one.
Woaaah
Prachtig!
Anyone know what the 2nd mic he's using is? The megaphone sounding one
Howdy!
robert pattinson was on double bass
Muy pocas vistas eso hace q me siga gustando mas esta banda, que bueno que no lo quemen mucho
First time I heard this I was like who the hell is honking in front of my house
🌠
Shout-out to RPatz on the bass.
pretty sure that's Dave Dreiwitz of Ween on bass
My mind is blown that he uses a Yak Bak toy.
Very funny how different this is from the version on the album

@@RustinCholeYour comments are a beautiful tribute: thanks.
I missed the initial Em chord on this song...
How
really weird move to not have the higher melodic line in the verses
Yeah, the guitar seens to play something different too. The rest is great but the verses i dont get.

Why?
Not
Ce mec reste immortel....
The drum kit ruins this. It's too loud and human.
