    BP is never a bad choice because of the existence of the HP Plus and FP Plus badges, which can provide a way to change 3 BP into 5 HP or FP, essentially allowing a BP level up to function as a HP/FP level up as needed.

    Endgame: 10 HP, 25 FP, everything else in BP. You don’t need to superguard when there are badges that improve your normal guard. You can up your defense across the board with Badges as well, and more badges for lowering FP skills costs and regening both HP and FP.

    • @MarioMastar
      @MarioMastar 7 дней назад

      Raising defense IS generally more powerful except for the fact that some enemies and attacks can pierce defense entirely, like all of Bonetail's breaths. Only P-down D-up actually reduces damage cause it does so after damage calculation. Though in PM 64, you could literally be invulnerable to every attack except Bowser's with a Danger defense set up, but with 16 P down D ups, sure Mario will do no damage whatsoever, (except maybe with Star power and items) but he should be 100% immune to all damage in the game (except for the hidden bosses who have ways to do 25 damage)

      Danger strats are indeed the best strats, it doesn't have to be Mario all the time. Yoshi and Goombella can also join into it with Trial Stew or Point Change. Maybe even Double Dip on Mario to nuke the partner, then get FP back.
      You can also equip all the lucky badges to get a 72% evasion rate at 5 HP or less. Which is just hilarious. No need for overkill Power Rushes if the enemy is way more likely to miss you.

With 5 Last Stands, you’re taking 1/32nd of the damage you normally would, so your only danger is a multi-hit attack breaking through your dodge chance. My reasoning for leveling up mostly BP is because you don't need longevity in fights until chapter 6 with Smorg, so don't level up HP. I always blend both BP and FP, and don't level up HP until around chapter 5-6.

    Pro tip: if you get bobbery, go to the under ground and blow up the wall near the entrance of under ground. Then exchange all of your hp for bp then take the missing wedding ring quest in rogueport at the trouble center and take the golden card from Frankie and spend all your coins on piantas. With the gold card you can buy UNLIMITED POWER RUSH BADGES to become the most powerful being in existence

    Anyone struggling with bonetail:
    Spam power lift and only get plus attack and then use Yoshi basic attack
    Getting 20 up arrows or plus 5 damage will cause Yoshi to do about 15 damage per turn. It absolutely carried me through the end of the fight and kept healing

    BP MENTIONED!!!! RAH!!!!! WTF IS AN HP UPGRADE????? Killed bonetail in the switch remaster after chapter 4 with no HP upgrades and everything invested into BP. Lucky day, some HP/FP+ badges, couple power+/power+ p, and charge/charge p will allow you to quickly cycle bonetail at a low level with intermittent sweet treat use to survive the breath attacks. Someone mentioned HP+/FP+, but you can also spend 4bp to reduce the FP cost of your move/a partner's move by 1 and stack it. In some circumstances you can never have upgraded FP and have enough BP to stack extra HP and FP cost reduction. Really the best and only stat worth upgrading if you can halfway do action + stylish commands.

    Generally speaking, ~25HP, ~20-30 FP, and the rest in BP is a well rounded way of getting through the game. Hit some base minimums to make sure you can tank multiple hits in a turn and be able to use multiple special moves in one normal battle and youre pretty much set. Beyond that its totally your choice, but keep in mind with BP you can prepare for battles on the fly so you really dont need 50 BP just to equip every single attack.

    FP first to foolproof Glitz Pit, that is to say, not needing to heal between gulps
    Hp too for Glitz Pit, to tattle on first fight without having to heal in between tattles
    Then BP cause its the best

    BP is always the priority, get it to 30 as soon as possible and use HP/FP badges when you need them to beat a boss. Also understand that the primary point of having and using FP in this game is to avoid taking damage. That's it, either increase your offense to wipe out enemies, or use defensive skills or debuff enemies. You shouldnt need more than 10 HP unless you're really bad at blocking or bad at managing items or bad at using your partner effectively or bad at using Sweet Treat
