- Join me aboard an extremely 'musical' DAF SB220/Plaxton Prestige of Arriva Southend on service 1 between Southend Travel Centre and Thundersley, Kenneth Road.
The gearbox notes in first gear of 3911 (T911 KKM) are exceptionally enjoyable, with even neutral having a tuneful sound to it. A very enjoyable musical cacophony, rare on modern buses which, if you like sounds, is just fabulous!
In part 4 we travel from Chalkwell Park to Thames Drive in Leigh, with more varied and faster road speeds attained. Great 'music' throughout. Enjoy :)

Sisters T917/20/22 came to Liverpool and were absolutely lovely, though the brakes on 917 were bloody awful they were cracking buses, love a good musical DAF they're great buses

Fantastic sounding gearbox. ZFs are by far and away my favourite. Here in Christchurch we have a MAN 17.220 which sounds similar-ish to this.

Very nice indeed! That brings back memories for me! We used to have Den Oudsten SD220's with exactly the same engine/ZF sound and they where a joy to ride! And very reliable! The driver also helps to make the ZF sound like it should :D

sounds like the ZF in an Optare Spectra.
Buses... apparently now they're driven by some kind of turbine, or maybe a series of different electric motors :D
Almost but not quite as chatty as the one-of-a-kind IGBT driven class 323 electric trains on my local line, which are entirely unlike most one-note electrics and have a very odd sound to them almost as if they have a 15-speed gearbox...

There is a Hispano Carocerra O405 that sounds like this in Singapore.Too bad its now scrapped. R.I.P O405 CAC,TIB733B..but the zf is more of a higher pitch in Singapore..
