Aunty Fumi’s sister to sister talks are EXCELLENTL! An additional resource I’ve used over the years to level up are the videos by RC Blakes. He’s here on RUclips. He does father to daughter talks and his videos are on point! I’ve learned so much from him over the years and I can 100% attest to the advice that he and Aunty Fumi give.

Fumi is speaking the truth! A whole sermon on a Sunday afternoon. I am African American Muslim. My father is the same man as Fumi's! My now husband of 30 years had to ask my father permission to take me on our first date. My father said yes and proceeded to tell him that our first date would be dinner with our family at our house. My husband and I grew up as neighbors so my family knew his family well. We were all accountable to each other. Unfortunately, many of us don't have the family support that my husband and I had or that Fumi had coming from a traditional African family.

FACTS!!! But, even with an eye opener of a speech, some folks still don't get it. I mean, how's it OKAY to STAY. I have never been abused physically but, trust me I was once in a relationship that had the signs..Oh gosh, I can never forget. His tone, his controlling and demanding habits, always trying to prove he's the man. We couldn't even have a decent conversation without ending up in an argument or yelling. I had enough and told myself it's a relationship (dating) and, not a Tix to Heaven. I picked up my stuff and showed myself the way OUT. I made sure the door didn't hit me and the hood Lord didn't split me 😂😂. Knowing what I know now, I'm forever GRATEFUL I didn't end up with him.

When I was 18 and working, I got close to a 26 year old baby mama who warned me about men who waste your time, you cook, clean and play wife only for him to leave you broken and start a home with someone else when he gets to a better economic place. When I said can never be me she told me never say never as you’d be surprised the kind of women in such situations. I truly hope it can never be us, and if it is, we have the courage to leave! Ending a 2 year marriage is better than a 25 year old marriage, as it is better than a 50 year old marriage. Ending a relationship with a child is better than 2 children later, as it is better than 4 children later. If can never be us becomes us, just flee.

I’m genuinely so sorry you & the countless/endless amounts of women globally that had to endure such a traumatizing/heinous/inhumane/trauma/pain/suffering/ptsd/confusing/mind boggling crime! etc ETC whatever it is (not assuming whatsoever ijs 🤷🏽‍♀️) but nonetheless just to hear & see other people are NOT alone in this fight for something as simple as peace is astounding to say the least , it’s bitter sweet, a lifetime lesson to NEVER underestimate yourself your self worth your strength for getting through something so difficult that some people cannot. It’s something to seriously marinate in & also as a friendly (not so friendly) reminder to NEVER go back to that dark place EVER AGAIN knowing YOU deserve better! All things in life are a blessing & a curse in disguise 🥸 lessons we cannot fantom the words to expel from within to break down for the others to digest/understand/comprehend those who not know any better but by experience alone… but with the experience & knowledge all things are possible 🙏🏾 you never know who you could possibly be helping … long story short again thanks for sharing, I’m happy you made it through to do exactly just that #Change #LessonLearned ❤️‍🩹

As much as we think twice before marrying someone, let’s think many times before having a child with someone (especially when not married to the person). That is a bond that becomes nearly impossible to break. Even if you don’t get along with the other parent, your child would like to connect with them. Co-parenting can become a nightmare when all that the other person wants is to hurt you.

I'm so grateful you shared this opinion today. I wish you were here to give me this message when I was 20 -30. My husband liked to hurt me. He never loved or valued me. He didn't realize I have family that loved and adored me. Not everyone because I had a lot of family that were jealous and hated me. I had 2 aunties that hated me. One that said no one will ever love you and the other who called me a whore and told me if he doesn't hit you he doesn't love you. I've dated beneath me thinking I didn't want anyone to think I'm better than them. The truth is I am better. God placed something special in each of us. Remember you are his crown and glory. I speak life and love over Keke. I pray she feels valued. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Women in abusive relationships don’t see their self worth when they are mentally, emotionally, physically or financially abused. Unfortunately it sometimes takes having children to take themselves out of an abusive situation because she will see that her children are more worthy of having a better life and do not deserve what she went through with their father.
For anyone who is going through an abusive relationship, just know that you are loved, you are worthy, seek help because it’s out there, plan to get out when it’s safe to do so. You are much stronger than you think. You may not see it now but, You are not alone. Trust in God wholeheartedly and in his plan because he will lead you out of this pain and from this, you will see how beautiful your life truly is. 💖🙏🏼

When all the red pill went up in arms about her outfit and agreed with him. I shook my head. What you see in a relationship is the tip of the iceberg. She was the bread winner why did he think it would be ok to humiliate her publicly? Because he knew if she really could see her worth she would leave. He was doing way worse in private and he got too cocky yet everyone on the Internet tried to make it okay that he was defensive about his wife being a super star? The star he targeted and was draining with nothing to give back.

I take accountability for allowing it to continue for so long. I had the save a man syndrome. I am so thankful for the lessons. Get out ladies if they don’t reciprocate emotional support. You’re so right Auntie Fumi! And it is so scary out here! I thank God I’m married and have good husband. I truly to do feel for the young women in my generation! Even with my own little sisters. I want them to value themselves more! We’re more than just our bodies! Yes, it is true what we have between our legs is powerful! We have to know it though! I’m currently pregnant right and will teach my daughter the value of her womanhood! And how she is more than what is between her legs and to NEVER accept a man who will try to put his hands on you! He isn’t a man he is coward! She will know this! Her father and I will show her value of relationship where we respect and love each other. So, that when some Lil boy tries to come in her ear. She’ll know her worth and value because we have it instilled in her since her birth!

it typically takes a woman 5-11 times to finally leave an abusive relationship. If you know anyone who is being abused, don't leave them, DO NOT ALLOW them to self-isolate or to be isolated. Fumi - The intensity of the emotions in this video is palpable. It was difficult to watch, especially for someone like me who has experienced a similar situation. I am 51 years old, and in my previous marriage, my now ex-husband also attempted to harm me in our new home. Being Jamaican and standing at 5' 3", I stood my ground when he reached the bottom of the stairs and looked up at me. I had a broken glass bottle in my hand, prepared to defend myself. He quickly turned around and never attempted such behavior again. I am willing to face jail time if necessary, rather than allow a man to lay his hands on me. It is heartbreaking to witness this kind of abuse, but I am relieved that Kiki managed to escape and that her son is now safe with her and without him . We definitely do not need another person like Darius in the world.
