    I would honestly like you to continue and provide repairs to devices that might not be economical for you the repair. This gives an opportunity to see how you would tackle an issue but also keep the landfill empty for someone like me that's into DIY, for something stupid like replacing a voltage regulator. Your use of the thermal camera, which you show in many previous videos, really shows it's value. It seems like the customer is willing to pay for the repair, but if not I would hope you would be willing to supplement your equipment orders with videos like this. Keep up the great work Alex.

    This can also teach users of the speaker how to troubleshoot the problem to see if it is worth fixing. Folks now know what the potential problem could be if they are experiencing the same problematic behavior. They can even use the IPA test method to see if that particular chip heats up. If so, remove the motherboard and send it in for possible repair and help keep it out of the landfill. Excellent excellent excellent video.

    Hi ALEX ,thanks for posting that one.When you are teaching your children you don't think >>instead of showing him or her how to FIX it I'LL just buy them a NEW ONE !!!
    Most parents natural reaction is to teach,i know mine is.At that point you don't even consider the COST of your TIME.After all spending time with someone you love is INVALUABLE.You're not just teaching how to fix things you're teaching the ethics of why you do something in the first place,it this case i believe it was how to fix something correctly and to make THE ATTEMPT and Not being afraid to fail.so thanks,for the many lessons,I'm SURE many viewers will agree.

    The big companies come up with more and more excuses not to service their products, and we cannot continue consuming and wasting like we already do. More people should learn to do these kinds of repair, so that friends and relatives can have their products fixed, even when it is too expensive to send in. Good advice to mail in just the board of this speaker, as it seems to be a repeating fault, like with all those ASUS laptops.
    Am disappointed that BOSE made a product that stops working like that, as voltage regulators and other components should be dimensioned to work with some margin, but we all know that, they will too often be too weak for the product to last many years like before.

    • @Cabeza492
      @Cabeza492 Год назад +2

      I think that some manufacturers skips the "lab" part of developing process in order to lower costs, so many boards are designed by people who only works with the theory, they do the math and never involve in practice so they speculate like "well, all the values are right, in theory that should be enough, that will work just fine" so they never test it for more than a few minutes enough to pass Q.C. but in practice, things are so much different.

    Hello, I had a Bose L2 PA system that was inop due to the power supply. I found a couple rectifier diodes shorted and proceeded to replace them. I immediately realized that the Bose electronics was not designed to be repaired. As careful as I could be to not damage the board, the traces and barrels couldn’t stand what I was doing. I am a retired Aviation Electronics Technician, and have certifications and years of experience over my life-time. Not to brag but just beware to anyone that runs into the same scenario I did.
