Is this a spring, or a tailings pond?

I am delighted by the autumn colours. My intention is placing the apex of the trail at different "rule of thirds" interstices while keeping the camera steady as i walk.
This area was formerly used as an informal illegal dump of shingles and industrial waste sometime after 1950. The testing wells, there are six well pipes along the trail which should be painted bright yellow, or red. or orange. More signage explaining the park features to test for and remediate the land should be installed.
