Tim Lived in the Town and Country area of Tampa in the 1970’s which is where I lived and he was always kind to everyone who waved to him or spoke to him. Bobby Shane lived about 2 blocks from Tim and he was not as accessible because he was a heel and not a face.
Bobby Shane could of been over huge even though he wasn't an big guy, probably was about 5ft 8 ,but he could really talk and wrestle, loved it when he was in Australia l think early 1973.
He was the first, "Good Guy," masked man I had seen. The rest were Baddies - the Infernos, the Assassins, The Professional, the Spoiler, etc. Mr. Wrestling was unmasked by, "The Big O," Johnny Valentine, also a masked man with a Mr. Wrestling ll styled mask, whose purpose seemed to be to unmask other wrestlers in the region. This was late 1960s/early 1970s.
I clicked Like right away before I saw the video because Tim Woods & Magnum TA were tag team champions. With that said I'm not a big fan of breaking kayfabe which in this video it was. It would have been better seeing him in a mask.
That was one of the things that made him different sometimes Tim woods would wrestle with the mask and without the mask everyone knew that Mr wrestling number one was Tim woods they even did an angle where him and wrestling #2 feuded about that situation so having him come down without the mask if you followed his wrestling career is not out of the ordinary of what he did when he was Mr wrestling number one!!!!
@@TheStuport I watched rassling on WTBS channel 17 in the early 1980s and Mr. Rassling Number One had already retired. Mister Two was the real deal then.
@@user-jq2iz9zn4p I can remember him tagging with #2 on TBS on a few occasions. Only time i can remember seeing him because he was semi retired. I remember him pinning someone with a standing head stand.
I think he meant to say world tag team champions I know him and wrestling number two held the NWA version at least once and since he was big in the Carolinas that's a good chance he held that version of the world tag team championship with another partner as one time the Carolinas was a tag team territory the NWA World tag team titles were the featured belts!!!
He was one of the best.
highly under rated one of the best ever imo
When I was a kid I wanted to be a pro wrestler and call myself "Mr. Wrestling III"!

My favorite!!! wish I could have seen more of him.
I remember reading about him in Ric Flairs Book..
A true gentleman in wrestling
I saw him wrestle a lot in south Florida, In the Ft. Lauderdale Armory and other places too. I always like him.
Not enough. Give the fans more
Another casualty of "not much footage available". So he doesn't get the proper credit. He was an excellent worker and a pretty good promo too.
Tim was very well loved in the State of N.Carolina ❤

I believe you are thinking about Mr. Wrestling II, Johnny Walker, and Magnum TA as tag champs.

@@ericmarks6322 i think you áre correct it was 2 who Tagged with Magnum
Number Two was the real Mr. Wrestling.
Nope.....and Johnny "The Rubber Man" Walker would be the first to tell you that Tim Woods IS The Original Mr. Wrestling!

Tim Woods was the original Mr Wrestling before jonny walker ever showed up in Atlanta as Wrestling 2
This doesn't make any sense. It would be akin to saying that Ric Flair was the "real" Nature Boy. You might be suffering from recency bias.
Was his wife named Mrs. Wrestling or sumpthin?
I don’t remember him being world champion
I don't either.
It's a mistake, this interviewer is pretty bad. Also, he was Mr Wrestling 1 NOT 2!
@@tonypastor705 I do know that he was 1/2 of a tank champs at one time. If I’m not mistaken
I loved watching him wrestle. Great performer.Loved his matches with Buddy Colt.Classic stuff!
