I first visited Golden State in 1969. My friend's grandfather was a founding member. At that time it was not located here in Richmond but in the SP yard in Emeryville. Actually SP yard movements would be ongoing during the session. O scale was king and had half of the building, HO was cool, and N was a bit small. I loved how mainline Operators sat above the O scale layout. We got to run around the place, climb under the mountains and even ran a few trains. It was a great experience!
Thank you for sharing your experience - it’s amazing how a well maintained club can bridge the gap between so many generations, and now different scale. I think Golden State is an amazing destination for hobbyists and would love to go back there some day.
It sure is! Some parts of the HO layout is so masterfully done that if you can take the right photograph it can look absolutely real. Thanks for looking. Happy New Year!
Thank you! Yes, I do have my Old Sacramento raw videos lying there for 6 months, but didn't get a chance to process them. Hopefully that will come soon. :)
Thanks Michael, glad that you liked it. Check out the California State Railroad Museum one too with the real trains - ruclips.net/video/PdBoDv9RpFM/видео.html - hopefully you will like that one too.

I am going there.
Great video. Music is too loud and disconnected from the action. It overwhelms your cool tone narrative.
Hi Frank - thank you for stopping by and your constructive feedback. I will take a note of that for my future videos. Cheers! Kaustav
