Rick Beato has spoken on his channel about fair use and copyright infringement problems. He might have a video that will give hints on how to get around it. Most of the time it is the labels that push the issue.
Who's Rick Beato?? 😜 Seriously, it's a super annoying problem. The more of us who speak up about this, the better. The thing that irritated me is that the entity making the copyright claim had no affiliation to Primus, Interscope Records or even Josh Steffen. It was just some odd entity that played disco music.
This is interesting… I've had a number of copyright _claims_ on my channel when I've done covers, but never any copyright strikes. Since I'm not above the magic threshold to start monetizing my videos yet, I haven't worried about it. I think it helps going in knowing that if you're doing something copyrighted, you're not going to be able to monetize it. Still, there are two *major* issues with how RUclips handles this. (Well, more than two, but these are the two I'll focus on.) First, there's basically no consideration whatsoever of *fair use.* You absolutely should be able to use at least up to a 7-second clip of a published recording and be able to claim fair use since it's for educational purposes. Second, and I'd say this is at least 1/3 of the time when I get a copyright claim, I know for a fact that the entity claiming copyright _does not own the rights to the song._ A lot of times it's some random obscure artist who covered the song. Put it this way: when I cover a song, I *know* who wrote it, and usually I know what record label should be enforcing their copyright. A ton of these copyright claims are bogus.

Always insightful video as usual. Would you consider doing a video on bass pedals?
Yes, I'm long overdue for another video covering bass pedals. Thanks!
Hang in there. I know you will get it figured out.
Absolutely. Thank you, brother!
thanks man it worked on me

Try playing the drum beat/video at a faster or slower speed, like 1.5. Sometimes this goes past the bots. I think this is how others get away with it.
Not a bad idea. I'll give a shot and will return here to let you know. Thank you!
