My #1 pick for 2024 is the Tim Commerford signature Stingray. I'm totally stoked for it to be delivered next week. The JHS Flight Delay and Sterling Joe Dart signature Stingray are also really cool products for 2024.
I was thinking only yesterday that I hadn't seen a Julia vid for a while! Always like to see new gear, but I'm so happy with my Greco P bass and Rumble 200 that I don't really "need" anything new, having said that, the compressor wouldn't go amiss. As an aside, a thumbs up to Thomann for their handling of a mixer I bought on behalf of my band that turned out to be unsuitable - no quibble return, simple process and refund.
I have a Cali76 but I replaced it on my board with the Empress. Has more features and just works better. My compressor for recording is now a Source Audio Atlas which does a great LA2A and the Cali is in the drawer.
Great to see you again Julia & thanks for the cool review. I liked the first pedal most. The bass guitar could be nick-named the 'The Exorcist' due to its pea-green soup colour... 😅
My pick of the year (and one I bought) is the Zoom MS-60B+ - Awesome sounds in a sturdy, compact case, and easy to use and pretty cheap. But it doesn't seem to be very recognized, it got far less coverage than the imho much inferior Line6 Pod Express Bass. Another one is the Sire Z series. I really want to try them but couldn't find any nearby until now. Seems like the Z3 hits the sweet-spot, at least the first run of the Z7 had quality issues. But I love the Z7's concept of adding a touch of Jazz Bass to a StingRay inspired design, instead of adding an MM humbucker to a Jazz Bass like Sandberg, Clover, or Harley Benton. And Fender finally has a H/S Jazz Bass as well now. One which finally brings them to the present, kind of: The Blu DeTiger Jazz Bass is their first signature bass for a female player ever!
Not new from this year, but my fuzz find: MXR Variac fuzz, it’s incredibly versatile with the voltage control. No blend, but I find fuzz with a blend can make it sound like I’m playing two basses slightly de-synchronized (and not in a good way like a chorus).
@Martin-jd3sr No matter what Julia says, in what language, she makes me feel the music, feel the rythm, move my body,... My Mojo is : FEEL not only listen to ! Thanks for this ability Julia...🌻
Julia, I've been enjoying your videos that have been appearing in my feed. Graham Maby - bass player for The Joe Jackson band had some fun/interesting basslines on Joe Jackson songs - I’m The Man, Stepping Out, Kinda Kute, and Beat Crazy. Agree/Disagree?
Nothing as new stuff this year. Only used gear for real vintage sound. In France with president Macron we no more have money because ruined by the cost of life (electricity, food..).
Julia reaches a much larger audience in this way. I’m Swedish and I’m not sure how much I would understand if Julia spoke German. (I studied German for five years in school, 35 years ago…).
1. Wo Du dich aufhälst, interessiert hier niemanden und Thomann verkauft weltweit. 2.
Its a great day when Julia drops a video. All I want for Christmas is a Julia autograph.
It's always a pleasure to see you!!!
Julia always makes the coolest and funny faces when she plays the bass :) She is a great player ! -- Thank you for the great review + demo Julia !
It’s called “STANK FACE”
The pistachio Fender is beautiful!
Beautiful tone too.
I never learned to play bass, but I'm very good at eating pistachio ice, so I reckon that playing this bass will be a peace of cake :-).
Exquisite, I would say!
YES!! She's back :D
Merry Christmas Julia! So glad to see a new Julia video!!!
Merry Christmas! // Cheers, Julia
we love your great video!!!! I love the Fender bass in Green!!!

Julia is back!!❤❤❤
Love the Fender Player ll. Sounds awesome!

Welcome back. It has been too long. For me my Orange Crush 50 practice amp is my favorite piece of gear. Sounds great and has a built in tuner.

Some of those were just too cool!! Thanks.....have missed you!!!😊 Dbl hand waves.
The Sun shone after a long long time!!
Great bass face when playing that P-Bass!!

Julia is so good on bass and very 😍😍😍😀😀😀
My best purchase of the year is exactly the Sterling Stingray CA24 on your right! Terrific bass!👍👍👍
❤❤❤❤
Awesome, I thought she's no longer here, since it was about half a year since last time she was on a video.
for years i read those comments and Julia should be awarded BaSS FACE GOAT of ALL TIMES
All I want for Christmas is Julia playing Superfly.......

Yeah - the colour is really "tasty", but surely Julia can play that killer groove on any bass!
As always, very entertaining even for a non musician like me, Julia.

No pineapple? 😢🎸 I saw it during the last peddle! Thank you Julia 🎸
It is on the wall ;) // Cheers, Julia

Can someone tell me the name of the active bass she's using .

what is my favorite gear? You don't have to look far. Just look to the right. ;)
A musician’s final thoughts should be of Ohio.
Sorry but SireZ7 Swamp Ash beat all others basses for the money !
Whenever it comes to Julia's videos Thomann's guitars are being very cheap

the right wing crazy people will not make this any better.

Why does everyone make a face like they're struggling with the bass, what's so hard about that riff that you have to make a shittface?
Where ?
