  • Gangotri is a small town located in the Garhwal region of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the four holiest places in Hinduism and is considered to be the source of the Ganges River. There are many things to do around Gangotri for those interested in Hindu mythology, nature, and adventure.
One of the main attractions in Gangotri is the Gangotri Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Ganga. Visitors can participate in religious ceremonies and rituals at the temple, as well as take in the beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
For those interested in nature and adventure, the surrounding area offers a variety of activities such as trekking, rafting, and paragliding. The region is home to the Bhagirathi peaks, which offer challenging and rewarding trekking routes. The Ganges River also provides opportunities for rafting and kayaking.
Other popular activities around Gangotri include visiting the Gaumukh Glacier, which is considered to be the source of the Ganges River, and exploring the nearby town of Uttarkashi, which is home to several ancient temples and monasteries.
Overall, Gangotri is a beautiful and spiritual destination that offers something for everyone. Whether you are interested in religion, nature, or adventure, there is something to do around Gangotri that will suit your interests.
