@@williamhutton2126 i dont care what you read, i played both shadow of mordor and shadow of war. They both boring and repetative. All you do is kill endless orcs and their leaders to kill more orks and more leaders with 2 button console combat.
If this were my list, I would have added Anthem on here. My limited time playing it was special and it always give me that sense of awe. It was a quirky mess, but hell, I loved how messy it was!
First of all nice video, i love your content man. there are so so many great old games. Half of these games i have played, when i remember the feeling I've experienced during playthroughs still gives me chills, i miss the old days.
I liked the desolate environment in mad max. Finding a cache with scrap and water felt like an real achievement. And the map was devoid of things to do....just most of rhe juicy stuff was in the encampments. Need a sequel or atleast another game set in that universe. Driving mechanics and combat were really really good
so glad to see enslaved odyssey to the west on here. i remember randomly picking that game up out of a box of old xbox games and no lifeing it because it was so good.
I think Prey is the best and really underrated It's too bad they canceled the second game because I had a blast playing it, and I can't say that for many games now days. Evil within 2 is also really good.
Mad max and evil within 2 for sure! They both sat sealed in my backlog for over half a decade. Imagine my surprise when I finally tried them. WOW! Hope we see evil within 3 now tango are kinda back
Spec Ops The Line is an amazing game not just a really good shooter, story is great and well written and well acted and the action is top notch. I also remember Bulletstorm blowing me away at the time, very fun game!
Lots of good selections on your list that I've enjoyed, but I wanna call out Prey because it surprised me. I played the demo and it didn't sell it for me, so I wasn't looking forward to it's launch. Eventually I came around to it because it came on sale on PSN, and I was so glad I finally did because it was great! I enjoyed it so much, I ended up getting a physical copy too. Better than the Dishonored series, I thought.
Days Gone was a better game than most games that came out that year. Such fun game play it pushed the ps4 pro to its limits with the graphics and world size. The mechanics and story kicked major ass as well. I really wish more people gave it a chance so we could get a second one. The same devs that made syphon filter series. legends.
i got enslaved oddysey on sale when i ran out of stuff to play...boy was i surprised! ( surprising well constructed story, good voice acting fun gameplay)
I feel like shadow of war is pretty well established as a great game. Thank you for mentioning ghostwire tokyo, it had a rough launch but it is a great premise I would like to see explored further on future games and I had fun playing it.
middle earth was my fav game, i feel bad people never realised it. the sequal of middle earth is much more fun and amazing. I loved the concept of conquering and recruiting, wars. It has so much interetinf fun things to do. I am waiting for its 3rd part.
@@AnDr3w066 There was no pay to win in Shadows of War. I've beaten it multiple times on the hardest difficulties and never once bought a thing but the game and DLCs.
I didn’t hear if you were only talking about indy games or not but one series that I can’t get over is Shadow Hearts. Not Kingdom Hearts, Shadow Hearts. It has horror game vibes and is described as such is probably if at all one of the more mild horror games. It is an RPG and I really can’t pinpoint how you would describe it exactly has iconic characters, real world locations, a story that will demand your attention , odd and horrifying enemies, beautiful environments and music that is on another level. I recommend this game to everyone but especially JRPG fans. Probably the most iconic part of the game is the battle system. This game uses a system called the judgement ring . Basically it is a ring with contact points, when or if you hit the contact and your character’s attacks depend on hitting the contact points. No contact no attack . The judgement ring is like a clock but it has a single arm . You have to press the button when the arm reaches the contact points. I love the battle system. The game also has side quests and unlockable content .
Prey and ghost Tokyo are games I enjoyed so much. Also I think Oddworld strangers wrath and Jade Empire are titles that deserves proper remakes/remasters
I don't think people understand the evolution of gameplay that Shadow of War has brought us. This is THE FIRST time we're seeing evolution in this aspect of the game, and based off of fighting, strategic or even hack/slash games, this is the biggest chunk of the game. Honestly, Shadow of War should've been 1st on your list, for what it has brought us. I hope other platforms will be able to create their own unique way.
just cant notice any other game on this list because od days gone, this game is not even game it is a masterpiece one of the top 20 best games of all times for sure
I would add a AAA game that had terrible release and lost too many players cause of it, some that are sleeping on it because in the state that is now it is one of best games I ever played. It is Cyberpunk 2077 and it's phenomenal DLC Phantom Liberty. I can not recommend it more.
Must say most of these games I still don't want to go near not my cup of tea, and some of them are not under rated lol... However their was "ONE" game in this group of 20 I was intrigued bye... "Valiant Heart's" I think that game is the one game in the list that actually is what I was expecting to find, a truly under-rated game that a person would be interested in trying...

Mad Max and Prey was just bad games. I loved the original Prey, but the new one never clicked with me, it felt too convoluted and the combat was not executed very well. Mad Max being set in an post apocalyptic world, doesn't excuse an empty world bereft of content.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War was not underrated at all.. what? Neither was Prey, really. Spec Ops: The Line wasn't a blockbuster hit, but is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time (lol whut is this list tho).. Bulletstorm didn't sell millions but is a classic... And I've heard so much about Ghostwire Tokyo I almost played it despite not being remotely interested...
Some of these games I think are a bit overrated. That being said, I know Sunset Overdrive would've done better if it hadn't been locked to XBox. I know a lot of people that really wanted to play it and still would today off it was on Playstation. And Pretty honestly would've done loads better if it had a different name. I remember a lot of people where I live practically boycotting it because it wasn't Prey 2. It's honestly a phenomenal game.
