Alexia this was the best description on how to not use your arms and actually engage those back muscles in a pull up! Thank you for showing me the correct form so I can get more out of my workouts 🙌🏼

YES! This is exactly what has been missing in my journey toward pull-up proficiency. I have followed what I thought were good beginner programs and, in fact, am on one now. But, this tip on engaging back muscles is the missing link. Thank you!

I really like the second movement with the TRX band and going from a seated position into a pull up. I'm going to incorporate this with my clients. You're the best Alexia!

Negative Pull ups was what best worked for me. I knew those as walk the plank. Static hold helped me a lot too.

Great instruction Alexia, here's an additional tidbit for beginners. When I went into US Army boot camp, many years ago, many of the recurits could not do a single pull up. The method our drill instructors used was to have us do or attempt to do pull ups every time we passed a pull up bar. These things seemed to be around every corner. After 8 weeks most of us could knock out at least 10 and up to 20 pull ups so this method works pretty well.
