The pyro team does not trigger the flame guitars. The guitar players have a button in the floor that they can press with their foot so they are in complete control of the flames.
The song is a memorial. Without Rammstein's musical reappraisal of the tragedy, fewer people would remember it today. The song was written in a pub just half an hour's drive away from me. Till didn't want to be solely responsible for the lyrics, so he asked the other band members what they thought about the Ramstein air show disaster. He then turned the keywords into lyrics.
Definitely do more Rammstein live reactions! I saw them in 2023 in Budapest and it was amazing, they´re one of those bands who actually sound better live I think. I would recommend probably Mein hertz brennt or sonne live, just epic songs. Seemann live 2016 is always fun as a change tho, slower song but really shows of Tills singing skills. :)

In one of the previous versions of this song, Till had a coat on which started burning at the very beginning of the song. He had to stop wearing it because of the blisters it caused on his shoulders and arms.
I think in one of their early shows there was a fire that caused a lot of damage and some injuries, and that was the reason Till became a licenced pyrotechnician. Their live shows are apparently crazy with the first few rows of seats being called the fire zone, I've seen videos of Till with the flamethrower angel wings, but the fiery backpack is new to me.

This is new to me and it’s quite something. I think I noticed that Till would place his hands on the mic stand before the fire flew, which makes sense. So, I wonder if the device on the guitar would double as a super-soaker if they saw a fire was started (it’s just me)? And I feel Jeremy is right that people are more sensitive today. They put up with all kinds of stuff at Woodstock, less in the 90’s, but today you can’t look sideways without someone questioning your motives. Really interesting how they fuse the music and pyrotechnics. Would I go to a concert? Probably not. But I’m glad you two enjoyed it! 🎶 Cyd

Rammstein got booed offstage?? Damn!! The only band I ever saw get booed off was Deftones, back in the 90's , opening for KISS. Probably didn't deserve it, but it was the KISS Army , I think getting impatient. lol Jeremy, yes show her that Engel video with the wings.

@Jeremy: An Instagram girl made herself important and said she was drugged by the Rammstein crew at the after-show party and sexually harassed by Till. You can imagine what the press made of it without having checked the truth beforehand. The result - Till & Rammstein were driven through the press. However, they reacted with all legal steps and in the end it came out: everything was a lie, corrections in the press and some hefty fines. By the way, from the legal point of view, i.e. the police, this was NEVER a case. The power of an Instagram bunny.
